Good product but be sure they're the correct size

These solved a big problem for me. Without functioning oarlocks on my rowboat, the oars were almost useless. We could use them like paddles, but only one per person at a time. These were reasonably easy to install by drilling out the old broken oarlocks and screwing this on. They look pretty good and are completely functional, so long as you correctly match the size to the oar pins. If not the right size, you could be out of luck.

Amazing value !

I made a set of oars for a small canoe I have to use in the style of an Adirondack Guide boat. These oarlock sockets are sturdy and work well with the Sea Dog oarlocks. For the price I couldn't have done any better. They are a little rough in places but they're not a piece of jewelry. They're heavy castings and should hold up to a lot of hard use. I haven't mounted them yet (they DON"T come with screws) but look forward to trying them out soon.

I purchased these SeaSense Oarlock sockets through BestBoatingStore.com They are exactly what I was after. I didn't realize when I purchased them that they are sold in pairs [in hind sight, silly me of cause they are], so now I have two sets extra. They appear to be very good quality, cast stainless with a machined finish for the screw and oar socket. The price was good for four individual sockets that I thought I was getting but am so happy I received eight as I will probably make enough selling the extra four locally to cover the cost of the four I wanted.

Sturdy

These are very sturdy. I would have liked if they were a little deeper on the top. By that I mean, I have a plywood boat and I had to screw into the top of the plywood instead of the rail because these aren't very deep. But again, they are sturdy.

Super fine

These are well made. Smooth and nicely machined, especially for the money. There is nothing sticking up to get in the way of the oar swing. They could be a bit bigger for mounting purposes and I was disappointed that they didn't come with mounting screws.

Great product at a Great Price

This is a quality product at a great price. If it had cost more, I would have returned it when I found out that I ordered a product the won't work on the boat that I intended it for. The price was so reasonable that I decided to keep them and give them to somebody that can use them. The postage to send them back would cost somebody more than I spend for this high quality product. Thanks

Work great and NO plastic or nylon inserts to get damaged or lost. Replace a pair that had the inserts and got tired of replacing the inserts over the years. Happy with product.

Extra effort required to fit the new oarlocks into the new sockets

Maybe I am missing a feature but there was a ring inside the socket that was just large enough to prevent the oarlocks from going in more than halfway. Looks like a leftover from the fabrication process that required me to grind the inside before I could use the sockets.

Wasnt too sure about it since it has no rubber inside. But supppper pleased with the outcome. It fits on our canoe that isnt a normal size canoe. Its perfect omg. Its strong too.
