The Lushest and Most Beautiful Crayon Colors Ever
I would have rated excellent all the way through, but one has to be careful with Prang crayons; they are delicate and snap easily (a warning to vociferous press-down-hard color-ers, not always kids but enthusiastic aged Boomers like me). But oh, the tones! The Violet crayon is an intense, luscious Royal Purple, not the faded plummy-mauve of the Crayola violet. The Prang version of Blue-Violet is the richest blend of an indigo-tinted deep purple, like their ultra version of Purple Heart. The Blue is a prettier blue, not greeny primary blue or the kind of pallid aqua off-blue tone you'd recognize in ancient Japanese paintings, but a pure true shade, and the Prang Dark Blue is even better, a rich Denim. The Yellow Green is cheerfully bright, like a grasshopper, really lovely without any kool-aidy phosphorescence, each crayon somehow a "prettier" version of Crayola, although the color selection all told is much more limited. What I enjoy most is the creamy smooth flow of coloring, with no smearing or crumbling, and intense tones. I wonder if soybean was always Prang's ingredient, because when I used to occasionally buy Prang crayons as a little girl I remember the same wonderful smoothness and intense plush shades of color, just as perfect as they are now. It does compare favorably with Crayola's parafin ingredient (once upon a time at the dawn of school crayons for kids, weren't all crayons made of beeswax?) -- I look upon Prang as a luxurious compliment to a complete Crayola set; one wants Crayola in the 120-count for all the variety of many colors (although, let's face it, the era of psychedelic hot pinks, fluorescent oranges, and loud glow-in-the-dark greens ended over 45 years ago, and I can't believe the Crayola company continues with these unnecessary tones or that they actually take popularity polls and insist kids prefer to choose those blaring soda-pop non-colors over the 8 classic crayons Crayola discontinued in the 1990's). Prang's too classy and tasteful to compete with those outdated shades and somehow manage to make their 24-pack pretty complete and gratifying in itself, lacking only in having more various light blue shades, but to dedicated coloring-book fans of any age, I say, get both brands, and get the best of both worlds: Crayola's variety and quantity, and Prang's absolutely un-questionable superior quality.

Hard to find in stores.
The Prang crayons have smooth, bright colors. I really like them for when a kid is leaning to color and doesn't press down very hard yet. Since the color goes on the paper easily, it doesn't take much pressure to color. The crayons that take more pressure are more frustrating because they easily break when you haven't fine-tuned the fine motor skills. A light gliding motion is all it takes. My only complaints with Prang crayons is that they flake off bits of crayon when you apply moderate or heavy pressure, they smear when you color over them with another crayon and the paper wrappers are the same color on similar colors (making it hard to distinguish colors). These are labeled with the name of the color on the wrapper, which is good for learning color names. The name of written in English, French, and Spanish. In addition to ROYGBV, the 24-pack has basic sensible colors like turquoise blue, scarlet red, and tan. There are no ridiculous color names (no electric blue or spinach green). There is no "indigo" or "purple," but there is violet. I wanted some Prang crayons, but could only find Crayola and some other poor-quality Playschool crayons in the store, so I broke down and bought them on Amazon, although they ended up costing more than the average box of crayons.

Great crayons
Product was good but was shipped in a bag which didn’t protect the product very well.

Not like pictured
Very disappointed. The crayons were all over the place. The dividers were not in place and the box was trashed! Most of the crayons were broken. I expected to open the box and have all the colors sorted out so I could easily distribute them into their containers. Instead- I got a mess. What’s worse- I need them for an event tomorrow! So I can’t even return and get my money back. Sad.

Great
Love the crayons. The crayons colors are better than Crayola crayons but I use the colors from both as a complement to each other since the colors are not the same. The red in Prang is different from the red in Crayola as are the other colors. The reason I gave it a four is that the colors are still lighter than I would like.

Rich Hues- Good for Blending
Prang's soy crayons have a rich hue and very soft texture. I like them very much, except the stick breaks quite easily.

Great value!
I bought these to fill the crayon rolls I gave out as birthday party favors. Not only will I have plenty for the next kid's birthday party, I also like the quality of the crayons. I colored every color on paper compared with the crayons we have in the house--the Crayolas and the free ones we've collected from restaurants. These Prang crayons are definitely better than the freebies, and just as good, if not better, than the Crayolas. Not a lot of messy wax left on the paper, and plenty of color. Great value.

DIL wanted these.
She had read about soy crayons being better for blending, as well as safer for kids who chomp on art supplies. She needed both and I got her these. The price is really high for what seemed to be an average product, to me. I'd say to try them and see if you think they're really that much better. Prang is an excellent brand. But, I've seen soy crayons for much less that weren't Prang brand and, next time, I'll probably check around more.

Fantastic choice!!
I was looking for vegan crayons for my daughter. These tuned out to be amazing and I’d say better then the famous crayon brand. I find the colors brighter and more vibrant. They don’t seem to shade smoothly but the colors mix really well. I bought a second box “just in case” my daughter louse any of them. They are a great choice whether you are looking for cruelty free crayons or just looking for bright fun crayons. We really enjoy them.

Missing brown crayons
Fast delivery and product was somewhat as expected. We were 13 crayons short in the brown crayons so it was not easy to separate them into sets.
