Exact same product as the cheaper ones that don't exaggerate quality claims

I bought this pack, same amount of same grits, for $5 more than the cardboard dispenser versions (actually $7 more right now), because of their claims: "open coat design delivering uniform scratch patterns". With both this and the other brands I'd noticed the exact, same, little, only partially flattened-over, *random lumps* of grit that make totally inconsistent scratch patterns when they are fresh, against wood. On metal it evens out quickly enough, but on wood it's a time-waster on the lathe. It's like having lumps of 80 grit on your 240 until it's almost used up and I have to keep back-tracking to erase the random scratch lines. Nowhere near the smooth coating as a name brand sheet in a hardware store nor the strips emery from my warehouse jobs. They deserve a one star for saying this stuff about even coat, like they are claiming it's different from their competitors. Not only is it the same inconsistent, slightly bumpy stuff (run a piece of it across a surface to discolor the bumps, you'll see) but it's not even as thick a coating as my last batch. The durability.... okay it's like the others and in both cases I've had a little worse, but "renewable cutting surface"? Yeah, like, use a rubber cleaner stick on it one time to remove stuff and it will work as a diminished 2x grit value one more time. The only "better" thing at all is the metal dispenser but it's nothing to me and doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The metal strip on the carboard dispensers from the cheaper deals actually make tearing easier and this substantial metal dispenser relies on flimsy, disposable-grade clamshell, inner packaging modules that I doubt they sell separately, so you're still just going to need to buy another metal dispenser, or refills that won't fit unless the paper-thin plastic clamshells hold up. Not worth the extra money at all. Disappointed.

Rock +emery cloth wet sanding = Great Results!

This is a nice selection of rock polishing grits! If you like to wet sand, this emery holds up well! It sands as well as any paper I’ve used.

Why did I wait to buy this?

Being a woodworker, sanding is a necessary evil and like it or not we must always have an excess of sandpaper on hand. The challenge I always faced was cutting or tearing that piece off of a sheet that was the right size for the small area I needed to prepare. These rolls are amazing allowing me to tear off just what I need for that small nook or cranny. The dispenser is heavy duty and works well after hanging on the wall. Just make sure your screws are tight enough to hold it firmly against the wall. I will add that having the grits running the gambit between 150 & 600 gives me the flexibility to rough or find sand everything. I will definitely make sure this thing is stocked from now on and I hope it holds up for a long time. Very satisfied customer here who will recommend to friends & family, and I would definitely encourage any other woodworkers facing my dilemmas to invest in this product sooner rather than later.

It's smaller than you think

I was envisioning decent sized rolls of sandpaper on this, but the whole unit is maybe 6" wide by 4" or so, and each of the rolls is maybe 1/2" thick. I probably just missed this when reading the product description since I imagined in my head what it would look/feel like, so when it arrived it was much smaller than I imagined. That being said, it's convenient and great for any shop!
