Not easy to use
I had very high hopes for this product. It gets great reviews so my expectations were high. I found it hard to use. Some reviews mentioned that it is difficult to keep it on the bottom of the pool. Yep, that is the truth. The bag attaches with a draw string. I closed it as tightly as possible. Still, the bag came off in the pool. So all of the contents of the bag emptied back into the pool. I found it difficult to maneuver on the bottom of the pool. When I attempted to pull it out of the pool, the contents of the bag emptied into the pool. It will not pick up dirt at the bottom of the pool. It does pick up leaves and maybe half of what it picks up will stay in the bag when you bring the bag out of the pool. It is probably best for small jobs/pools. I cannot see using it to clean the entire bottom of my large pool. It would be great to use after a storm when leaves are blown into the pool.

Not the easiest tool to use, but still worth every penny
We bought a house with a pool...and trees...lots and lots of trees. We have pecans, oaks, maples, and more. Our pool has been a losing battle every fall. Sometimes our lines get clogged. Sometimes our skimmers get clogged. Sometime we just say "forget it" and let it go until spring. I decided to try the leaf vacuum after my husband informed me that he needed the pool clean on January 1st for a polar plunge party. Oh boy! I got the vacuum, hooked it up with the hose and went to town. Cons: 1) a cold garden hose is not very maliable and makes it hard to maneuver the vacuum, 2) the bags do not attach well, I had to tie the string in a knot to get it to stay attached, 3) the vacuum wanted to float so required a significant amount of effort to keep it on the floor of the pool. Pros: it got the job done. The attached photo was after the inaugural 5 minutes of vacuuming. While the vacuum can be cumbersome, it is effective. That makes it well worth the money for me!

Worked. Still took more time than I'd hoped
My pool filter froze & I had to wait on a replacement. In the meantime, the pool bottom got covered with leaves on top of leaves. I bought this product to help remove those leaves. It DOES work & I'm glad I got it, tho' it's not without its own limitations: Once I had the new filter, I turned on my Dolphin robot to deal with the leaves But I quickly found I was having to pull my Dolphin out of the water to empty the filter basket after just a couple of minutes. A real PITA! It looked like the overall bag capacity of this Poolmaster was at least 4x that of the Dolphin's filter basket, so that's why I bought it. But, it seemed impossible to actually fill the Poolmaster's bag beyond ~1/4 full because the weight of the leaves causes the bag to fold over & not only drag on the pool bottom, but also prevent any more leaves from getting into that bag. So I tied a piece of kite string to the top of the bag, then tied the other end above the slip joint on the pole, thinking that "holding the bag up" would let it hold more leaves. That idea was generally correct, but because that held the bag vertically above the opening, the weight of leaves in the bag still kept the bag from getting more than ~1/2 full. So the job still required more bag emptying than I'd hoped. Once I got enough leaves out with the Poolmaster that there really weren't any more "piles" of leaves, I returned to the Dolphin & it did a super job of picking up the remainder. FWIW, I did call Poolmaster before trying this & they recommended against it because the bag isn't designed to take that much weight. So be aware of that in advance if you want to try what I did. (My bag's still OK, tho'.)

works great once you weigh it down.
as many people noted, the vacuum is very lightweight so the front end tends to float up off of the floor of your pool. this decreases the effectiveness in sucking up the leaves. to remedy this problem, i simply stuck on a bunch of those lead adhesive wheel weights all around the top surface (adding a lot more on the front areas). this will keep the vacuum weighted down on the floor and will work much better.

Returned, intermittently works
i was super excited about this ad I Live near maple trees. I though this would pick up a good amount of leaves... it did not. It picked up the first few leaves flawlessly but after that it just seemed to not want to do anything. Looks like its an issue with how the leaves go into the bag. The leaves may be to big (Fall maple leaves) for the opening to accommodate so that's worth consideration when looking to buy. Overall 4/10

Great product
After reading some of reviews was lil skeptical but figured for piece was worth a try, came quickly was easy to hook up to normal garden hose gave it a try on my 18’ x 48” above ground pool I used the fine mesh bag and it cleaned up almost all of the dirt, sand, leaves etc now I use when ever I need to top up pool so I can fill and clean simultaneously, would definitely buy again if I needed to!

Works like a charm
I am so pleased with this pool vacuum. I have tried 5 other vacuum systems ranging in price from $30 to $300, and this is the only one that works. And it works well! Is such a nice larger size that it easily picks up leaves and all other debris that drops to the bottom of the pool. No set up required; just plug in garden hose, put netting on (I used a large elastic in addition to the draw cord), and that's it. Would recommend to anybody.

This thing WORKS!
I was skeptical but hopeful when I ordered this, but on first usage it was fantastic! I was so impressed. it's great for the beginning of spring when leaves and gunk is on the bottom of your inground pool, and you don't want to use your pools' filter system to suck them up. Well done to whomever invented this - very impressed!

Amazing
I didn't think it would work that well but it worked like advertised. It picked up all leaves and insects from the bottom of the pool. It's super easy to use but you gotta be patient as the suction power depends on your water pressure. My 2nd time using it, I got 4 baskets full of leaves. I highly recommend it.

Everyone with a pool near trees should have this
I purchased two. One from amazon, the other from a local pool supply store. I can't recall which one I am currently using, but the issue I had was that the net would come off the tool. I fixed by getting a long shoe lace and wrapping around multiple times. It stays put now. Seriously, one of the best things I have purchased for the pool.
