Net does not stay on the frame
Does not stay on frame. Used to get leaves out of the pool

Don't like it.
Although it's more expensive than most other leaf rakes, I chose this leaf rake mainly because of the predominantly 5-star reviews. (Also, two years ago I purchased a Poolmaster Commercial 36" pool brush which is excellent.) But I just don't like this leaf rake. Instead of a time saver, it takes me much longer to get the leaves out than the cheaper, lighter unit it replaced. Perhaps after 20+ years I've become accustomed to a different technique for raking leaves out of the pool than the many people who like this item. If you like to PUSH a leaf rake along the bottom of the pool like a pool brush or a push-broom, the white strip is probably helpful. On the other hand, if you've raked leaves out of the pool a thousand times and learned how to push the rake above the leaves to create some movement in the water that temporarily lifts the leaves an inch off the bottom and then quickly twist your wrist and pull the leaf rake like a rake--well, this rake doesn't work so well. The bag is only 13" deep; it should be deeper. A bigger problem is that the netting material is so stiff, the bag holds it's shape--which is actually a problem, at least for me. With a deeper, softer bag, with the right move, you can easily fold it on itself to keep the leaves trapped as you move to the next spot around the pool. With this rake, the leaves come back out of the bag if I'm not careful. On the positive side, it does appear to be very good quality construction that will last a long time. It has a long neck that lets the white clip fit in the second set of holes on the pole.

It works!
That little white strip on the end combined with the strength of the material makes cleaning up leaves a breeze. A recent storm dropped a large amount of leaves and related debris into the pool. I worked for an hour with a standard leaf net and maybe got 3% of it out.. plus it broke because it's cheap plastic. It was so bad I actually thought about just draining the pool and cleaning it out. But this net works!! In 30 minutes I had cleaned out the majority of debris. Pine needles and even acorn tops were picked up & went right into the net. The rest I could vacuum because it was just the really small, finer stuff. You can fill the net, too, so it will be a little heavy when you lift it out of the pool until the water siphons through. But you're removing 3 to 5 times more leaves in one shot simple push. There is a key to working this net. If you push the net forward then stop quickly, all the debris will want to move forward out of the net due to inertia. So push slow and steady away from you. When you reach the end of your pole handle, pull back in the opposite direction quickly & smoothly. The net will literally close and keep the debris in until you can dump it. Also, the less of an angle you have, the better. Cleaning the deep end (8+ feet) was a little difficult because the angle of the pole is probably 60 degrees into the water and the net wants to bounce around. But once you get the hang of it, you'll see the value of this net. As for day-to-day surface leaf removal, this net may be too much. But for submerged leaves & similar debris, especially after a storm, this thing is GREAT!

Best pool net there is- Defective x 3
I have been a pool owner for 35 years, used this exact same net for 10+ years. They have a rubber bumper on the front that enables ypu to squeegee debris off the pool bottom and into the net like a dustpan. Its the only net that will work with acorns and heavy leaves. Some animal chewed the net. I ordered one and the net pulled out of the frame when full. Ordered a replacemen, also from Amazon, same thing happened. I contacted the company, they sent the 3rd net as a warranty replacement. I specifically requested that they inspect it first. Within a week the same thing happened again. These nets are secured to the frame in the back, but not the front! What the hell? I called them and they knew about this! But they knowingly still sell these defective products.

Best Leaf Rake I've Ever Owned, By Far!
This leaf rake is much, much better than the ones I can now buy at my local pool stores, for two reasons: First, the frame is made of tubular steel rather than the piece of bent sheet aluminum that forms the frame of all of the leaf rakes sold by my local pool stores. The frame of this leaf rake simply will not bend, or otherwise deform, during use. The aluminum frames of the rakes that my pool stores sell inevitably bend and, after bending them back into shape a few times, the aluminum work-hardens and breaks. Second, the netting material is far more resistant to wear than the netting materials on my pool stores' rakes. I would typically get a year or so of use out of the rakes that my pool stores sell. My first Poolmaster 21182 rake has lasted around ten years. I'm still using it. I bought this second rake on a just-in-case basis, because I was worried that I might not be able to replace it should the time ever come. The new rake is identical to my great original rake. I use my leaf rake every week, and the difference between this rake, and others that I have owned, is like night and day. Otherwise, I wouldn't have bothered writing this review.

Ok net for the money
Works well at getting leaves out of the pool. Just not very durable. Didn’t last long. Fell apart after a while.

Does the job
I had another one -- similar or the same, hard to tell --that held up for a few years. This one works well, so far. I have trees on the edge of the pool, and they drop lots of leaves, so my daily task is to skim the pool. The Poolmaster does this just as it should, including picking up leaves from the bottom. The scraper edge works well, as it slides over the bottom and scoops up whatever stuff is there. The netting is coarse enough that it isn't slowed down too much, though that means that finer particles aren't gathered. But that's the job of the robot pool-sweep. Buy it. It works.
