Misleading? Really poor quality stainless steel - if it is in fact stainless.
I received the 'stainless' water bottle cage. The cage was packaged in a simple plastic envelope - which might explain why the inner packaging was torn, the cage was separated from the cardboard product tag, and there were no screws to speak of. It was slightly misshapen, but I bent it back into place. Functionally, it will serve its purpose - to hold a water bottle on my bike. What perhaps concerns me more is that the cage might not be stainless steel, or perhaps a really low quality stainless steel. The main purpose of specifically buying a cage labeled as 'stainless' is so it will hopefully not rust. My guess is that this will rust up over a short period of time exposed to the elements. I happened to install it in the dark and had a flashlight with a magnetic tailcap in my pocket. When the magnet got close to this 'stainless' bottle cage, the two quickly snapped together and the cage was obviously magnetic. Either low quality stainless steel or not at all stainless. And as other reviewers have said, this cage is not 44g in weight. Mine weighed in (after calibrating my scale) at 53g. Not a huge deal, but all this points to misleading, if not straight up lies on the packaging/advertising. Will probably return.

Good cage, looks cool, won't put aluminum stains on your bottles
They're good cages, they look good on the bike and you can bend them for a tighter or looser fit. We have four road bikes and they all have these cages.

It's well-crafted. I just wish the vendor had identified country of origin.
Light weight. There is no aluminum in stainless steel, though. Another discrepancy in description.

Affordable stainless steel option
The Planet Bike stainless steel bottle cage is a great option if you want an economical stainless steel, cage that won't scuff your bottles. Not sure when I started caring about how my water bottles looked. But I recently ponied up for a more expensive Polar insulated bottle and thought I should take better care of it than the free bottles I got at trade shows and business conferences. I previously had a plastic bottle holder with grit and grime embedded in the plastic from mountain biking, so much so that even my stainless steel bottles were getting scuffed. Plastic bottles got totally marred. It is lightweight, doesn't draw attention, and seems to hold my 24 oz. Polar bottle just fine. I have not gone off-road yet to test how well it can hold bottles under duress from bumps and jolts, but it seems to do just fine on trail riding and going over the occasional curb in town. The Planet Bike stainless on Amazon is unbeatable for the price. I know I should support my local stores, but my local bike shop had the very same Planet Bike cage for over 2x the price. Unfortunately, it is not made in the U.S. like the King Cage brand, but my local store was selling those for close to thirty bucks!!! (The Planet Bike cage is made in Taiwan). At any rate, if you want a stainless steel cage, this is a nice affordable option.

Fine by flimsy
Works fine. It's a big flimsy compared to my other cages. It's fine on my road bike but I didn't trust it on my mt bike.

Not the color you may expect
The actual color of the cage is more of a gun metal grey. It is not the shiny silver color that you'd see with stainless steel wheel spokes. Too bad Planet Bike doesn't make a stainless steel bottle cage that would match the rest of my bike components. Its nice to know that the cage will never lose its paint or mark up my bottles. The bottle cage comes packaged with a metric frame bolt and nut just to hold it to the cardboard packaging. That doesn't make much sense and is wasteful. You need 2 bolts to properly mount the cage. Why just give you one bolt? Was I supposed to get two?

Nice but not exactly as described
The short version is that these are fine cages, hold well and being SS won't mark up your bottles. Decently made, especially for the price, a classic look and very functional. The pair of these cost about the same as a single Blackburn bottle cage. Unlike the other reviewer who was dismayed to find the satin finish, I prefer it to the polished look. I hacked off a star because they are advertised all over the place (including the manufacturer's site) as being 44 grams. They are not. I bought two and they weighed in at 54 and 55 grams respectively (the same weight as the coated alloy Blackburn cages I am replacing). Not a HUGE deal, but that's too much a difference to be explained away by manufacturing tolerances... 44 grams is simply a lie.

Good steel welded bottle holder
Good quality. Can bend it to get a good fit. Careful fiting it on the lower tube, can block the front derailur on my bike. Had to use standoffs to clear the FD cage.

starting to corrode, Is it really stainless steel?
I got this because stainless steel cages don't leave black oxidizing marks on water bottles. I can see the beginning of surface rust colouring on already after just a few rides in the rain. I don't think this is a very low grade of stainless steel, if it fact it even is.
