I purchased this for my golden retriever who would inhale his food. This has slowed him down considerably and now he finishes about the same time as his sister's or even a little after.

Perfect Solution for Fast Eaters

I have purchased several slow feeders through the years but this one is by far the best. It is easy to keep clean and it is durable. My dog would easy chew the sides of other feeders but this one is perfect. I highly recommend this product.

Only for DRY food products

This is a great slow feeder for DRY products only. The blue part comes out of the bowl, which I didn't realize when I first got it, so if you add fresh foods/liquids to your dogs kibble (i.e eggs, Bone broth, keifer, water, etc) part of it collects underneath the blue layer and the bottom of the bowl so you have to make sure to remove the blue part daily and wash it. I like this brand but we're only using this in the future for dry products only.

Locking Insert Not Sturdy

Overall, I LOVE Outward Hound products, but I was very disappointed purchasing their Stainless Steel Fun Feeder Slo Bowl. We have purchased two other slow feeder bowls for our dogs over the last several months. However, one of our pups (1 1/2 year old, 50lb Dalmatian Mix) has been developing acne on the end of his mouth. I wanted to switch him from the plastic, purple, large slow feeder to their stainless steel option to see if that may help with our pup's skin sensitivity. First few feeds went just fine! The locking mechanism to remove the light blue insert was pretty tough to click into the "unlock" and back to the lock position for cleaning after mealtime. However, after only a couple of days, our dog was able to remove the light blue portion with his teeth and it broke. Now we have another very expensive, stainless steel, water bowl...

Great quality bowl, poor quality adhesive

The bowl is really nice looking, very clean stainless steel. I do like how the plastic piece twist locks into the bowl and how it can be removed to clean everything more easily. However the adhesive used for the labeling is very poor. I'll need to use goo gone to remove all the adhesive from the bowl. It's possible I received an older product but still it is somewhat disappointing for something that is otherwise high quality.

Not as described

The only positive thing that I can say about this dog food dish is that it did slow my dog down. It is made from very thin metal with a hard, sharp plastic insert, which is not the same as the silicone insert that it is described as having. The hard plastic is miserable. You have to line up the plastic with the metal slots in the dish to keep it in place. It keeps going too far in one direction or the other when trying to remove it for washing. I have one other complaint. It comes with stickers all over it that are impossible to remove. There is no reason to put stickers like that on anything let alone a dog food dish.

Glue residue

The product itself is fine but the company that manufacturers it puts a very sticky glue to glue the packaging on the bowl and not even goo gone can get it off!! Honestly makes me regret buying it. No one wants to see that stuck on the bowl ????

Adhesive from labels is impossible to peel off

The bowl comes with a cardboard label that wraps from inside to outside. Removing the label leaves adhesive gunk all over the bowl. So far I've spent almost an hour trying to get the stuff off. Very disappointing - hard to believe this is necessary. In the end , it took almost two hours during which I tried every solvent I could find. Alcohol didn't work, varsol didn't work, oil didn't work, but in the end, with a lot of scraping and scrubbing, diesel fuel finally dissolved the adhesive. What an absolute pain.

Dog bowl

Like that it cleans well, but holds moisture under insert. The groves of the slow feed are not very deep. So it doesn’t slow as much as I’d hoped for. Packaging was more of a downfall for me. All the glue was stuck directly to the stainless steel. Instead of sticking it to the packaging that rips off. Which even using abrasive cleaner didn’t remove. So dog hair and dirt is just imbedded into the permanent glue.

Average quality

I have bought many products from this company and they have been very good quality so I was disappointed in this bowl. The metal is very thin and cheap - not dishwasher safe either. The concept of the slow feed insert is good and it has made my dog taker longer to eat his kibble. The bowl comes with stickers attached and they are literally impossible to remove. After many hand washings there is still a lot of residue on the bowl. Quite ridiculous packaging for a dog bowl. I would not buy it again. Over priced for the poor quality.

Absolutely Horrible Packaging - 45+ mins to remove glue marks from packaging!

Whoever designed this packaging only cared about presentation. Expect at least 45 mins+ to get this glue off. Even Goo-Gone and Goof-Off didn't work. Only option is a steel pad and now your finish is toast. If the person that designed this packaging ever meets my partner it will be ugly indeed.

This bowl doesn't slow down my dog and it's too big.

The bowl is not a good design. My 6 month old cockapoo takes her paw and flips the bowl over in 10 seconds, then she's eats the food from the floor. It would work if it didn't flip over ..waste of money..
