Nice watch - band broke within 2 days
My 10 year old son likes this watch a lot. It took him a few days to get used to all of the functions, and he was a bit intimidated at first, but he figured it out and now feels really comfortable with it. Only downside is the band on the watch snapped within 2 days and he wasn't even being rough with it. In the morning after sleeping he found it had broken and was off his wrist. We had to ship it back to Amazon and get a replacement. Replacement has been ok for about a week now.

Needs instructions
Would give 5 stars if it came with a book- some of the features you can figure out, but a couple are making me scratch my head...and it's not even a high tech watch...

Returned it. Doesn't keep steps accurately
Gave me 275steps while driving to my sister's house. It is just horribly inaccurate and that's the reason I got it was to count steps. Love the brand and the watch face... the date of week on the front and reading seconds on the front is my favorite. but the steps don't work

Just above basic - updated -
I bought this watch specifically because I wanted a wearable step counter without the extras of a smart watch (so no bluetooth, wifi, or apps). It's just above a basic digital watch, which is perfect for my needs. I did have to Google set up instructions to change the date & time as well as inputting some basic height and weight data. I'm sure it's used to more accurately estimate calories burned (which is also displayable). As compared to my phone's set tracker, the numbers are close enough. Since I don't always have my phone on me, the watch does have a higher step count for today by about 800. Overall, it's exactly what I wanted. -Update- So I've had this watch for just over a month (9/11 to 10/21) and I'm dropping my review from 5 to 4 stars. It still counts steps and keeps track of time which are the two major functions I wanted. But unfortunately the back light function broke. In complete darkness, when I press the button to light it, you can see a small blue light in the corner, but the screen remains dark. So you can't read the time when it's dark. All other functions seem to work. I've worn this watch daily since I got it and have done nothing extreme that could have cause damage. I expected a Timex watch to hold up better.

HR is complicated
HR is a joke! The HR monitor is the only reason I bought it. I don’t like having to charge fitness trackers all the time and only care about my HR during workouts and this thing is awful!!! Do not buy if you want a more reliable HR sensor. Edit: I’ve messed with the watch trying a million different ways to check HR. Found the manual on the internet and it has tips for taking the heart rate. One tip said make sure the wrist and finger aren’t dry. So I dampened my wrist and finger and it works better and quicker. Still complicated because I’m not always around water and really don’t want to be licking my finger to take my HR (yuck germs). The watch is pretty and does all the other Ironman functions I’ve always loved about timex ironmans. The added step count is pretty cool, but I just use that as a reference because no pedometer is completely accurate. So I bumped the stars up to 3. Like I said having to make sure the wrist and finger are damp is not the most convenient thing. It’s ok, if you don’t care about having HR. I’m keeping it, but it won’t be my first choice to workout with.

Okay for step counting.
It is a pretty watch and seems to count steps okay, but it does not have GPS for distance and the distance is wildly inaccurate for running. It apparently uses step counting to determine distance, but there is no way to input your stride so it can only be ballpark at best when you walk and wildly inaccurate when you run. I ran my usual 2.9 mile route and it read 1.79 miles for distance. I will buy a G-Shock Casio with GPS and give this to a friend who only wants to count steps. I did like the heart rate monitor. It worked fine for me.

Love the watch and easy to use. My only dislike is that it arrived with a dead battery.
I like the fact that is just a watch, heart monitor and distance and not connected to a phone. It works perfect and it meets my needs. I dislike that I bought a new watch and it arrived with a dead battery.

Nice watch but no instructions included
I like the watch but it didn't come with much of any instructions so it made it difficult to use. I'm still trying to figure out some of the features and can't seem to use it aside from just reading the time at this point. I went to their website to get a set of instructions so I could just setup the proper time and date. I think it's unfair to give this watch a low rating so I'm going with three stars. The watch has potential but that's about it. If you are ok going to their website downloading the instructions and spending the time, then this watch will work for you.

Waterproof, step count, My 7 year old son looks super cool wearing it
Bought it for myself (Mom) but tried it on my son and it looks cool on him. It also counts steps. Waterproof watch; he went to the beach countless times wearing it. and TIMEX quality is outstanding.

Attractive watch with limitations
Nice enough looking watch at reasonable price. Comfortable to wear. I appreciate the fact that I can read the face when I’m outdoors. Limitations:It has step counter however it maxes out at 990 step then restarts. The instructions are poor, and I have not set up the heart rate monitor.
