Not as good as the old style but good enough

Not as good as the old style filled with poly beads, but it works as a little padding and some insulation. The old style seemed to keep heat better but they don’t make that anymore and this is the next best thing.

Butt warmer

Something warm to sit on outside.

For the price, it's worth it.

The Heat-A-Seat did some of what it's supposed to do. It does insulate your body from the cold hard ground. Leaned against a tree in the cold wet leaves and it did indeed keep me dry, and was warmer than sitting on the ground. As far as comfort, I'd say it's false claims. Very uncomfortable, but I suppose it could be better than sitting on a root under a tree. If I lost it today, I might buy it again just because it was warmer than sitting on the dirt and kept me from getting wet. If it cost more than about $10, I'd pass. Better than nothing, but worse than some.

Overpriced and Odd Design

No belt loops. Constanting bouncing Not quiet Material on one side is far too thin. Not water resistant. Overpriced (by a lot)

Waterproof but very uncomfortable

I got these to sit on bleachers in the below 30 degree weather after a snowfall. They absolutely kept us dry but it was like sitting on a stack of crumpled towels mixed with thick chunks or styrofoam. Very unstable and very uncomfortable.

It does reflect the heat.

My Cats love to sit on it outside. I find that it does reflect your body heat.

Not like they used to be!

My dad had a few of these for deer hunting and outdoor sporting events when I was a kid. He has had the same cushions for at least 25 years because they were made so well. Only some of the printing started to wear off after years of heavy use, and they never tore a hole. They used to be made of a heavy waterproof blaze orange vinyl fabric in both sides and had a sturdy large metal eyelet to clip or hang it, rather than a cheap nylon strap. You could just wipe them down with a damp cloth to clean them. This item used to be filled with some type of small polystyrene balls/pellets like they used to use in bean bag chairs. They were packed tightly and it actually produced/reflected a noticeable amount of heat when you sat on it. They only took about 30 seconds to warm up and stayed warm the whole time you sat on them. The new version is so cheaply made. It’s thin black nylon that will easily tear if caught on anything or poked by a twig or even sat on the wrong way, and it’s similar to a very thin outer shell of a cheap wind breaker type of jacket and it was already frayed by the handle before I even took it out of the package. The orange side is a stiff, crusty nylon canvas type of fabric. It is loosely filled with larger, hard, plastic-y foam pieces that have been roughly chopped up and shredded very unevenly, rather than the squishy and smooth poly pellets of the past, so it is hard and lumpy. Sitting on this uncomfortable junk for 15 minutes and it doesn’t actually make your butt feel warm in any way. It just lifts your butt a few inches off the surface of whatever you’re sitting on. It’s literally still called “Heat-A-Seat” but produces no reflective heat at all. “Works like magic!” it says right on the printed side, which is completely misleading. Nothing magical about it, besides how I’m going to make it magically disappear in the trash where it belongs. I suppose it’d be warmer than sitting on snow directly, but honestly, a tree stump would probably give you the same amount of heat as this cushion. Pretty disappointed in the horrible decline of this product over the years. Cutting corners on production has made this product into completely useless garbage. Don’t waste your money or expect these to keep you warm in any way. Even if I had never used or seen the old version of this product to compare them, I would still have nothing good to say about this cushion. What a waste of time and money. The Thermaseat company should be ashamed of themselves for selling these.

Not nearly as good as ones when I was a kid

This one is full of torn up foam like a crappy My Pillow. In the old days this was full of styrofoam pellets and felt MUCH warmer, as if it was a heat source. This one is just OK
