It Stinks!

I bought this to replace an old deer stand seat. When I opened the plastic bag it came in I was repulsed by the odor. As best as I can tell, it seems to be giving off manufacturing chemicals. I hung it up outside, but days later it still stinks. If you buy this and hunt with it the next day, the deer will be laughing into the next county. It does no good to take pains to control your human scent when your gear smells like a chemical factory! Anyway, it's supposed to rain for a week so I've hung it where the rain can get to it and we'll see if that helps. If I remember, I'll update this afterwards. If it doesn't help, it's relegated to turkey season. It does make some noise when you move on it, but not as bad as some here have noticed. I may make a quiet cover for it. Mine did come with strings, not buckles, but that is OK for my intended placement. It's a good width, and the depth is about the same as a normal hang-on seat, but would be better if it were an inch or two deeper for other uses. If you have a big booty you may be uncomfortable! Next time, I'll look at other seats.

Strap hack!

So as other users have mentioned, it does not come with straps or buckles to secure it to your tree stand. What I did was tie a super short poacher’s knot on each string and after positioning the seat where I wanted it I zip-tied the left corner knots together and did the same with the right corner knots. Seat isn’t going anywhere! And for the price? Come onnn, can’t bitch about this product for what it cost. You won’t find a better price for the quality!

Great Stand for the price

I currently have 3 of these stands. I believe the platform and seat are ideal size (not too big or small), and the weight is very manageable. When I purchase these stands I do put ALICE pack straps on them and also extra ratchet straps for better stability and strength. I have hunted from this stand for up to 6 hours at a time. The seat is pretty accommodating. Just stand and give your lower half a break every hour or so and everything is good to go. I use multiple lock-ons during a season, and for the money this stand is hard to beat.

Crap

A little disappointed in Muddy. The cover will definitely not last more than a couple of seasons. The attachment is a couple pieces of parachute chords that are cheaply attached and you tie them so there is no way to sinch them up right. Pure crap from a good company (made in China probably)

Seat is nice, but has strings instead of straps.

Didn't like the bunch of strings to try and attach. Would prefer velcro like Hawk stands.
