Worked perfectly for my poor books!
This worked well and perfectly! I tend to read my paperbacks until they literally fall apart. This helped me to save the cover of one of my favorite books that I have had for 10+ years. Looking forward to resuscitating more of my favorite well loved paperbacks.

Good, but was brittle
Don't know if the product was old, but it was brittle and pieces of it were breaking as I was trying to make the book repair per instructions.

2" wide Book Tape
All of my hard cover books are covered in that clear wrap seen on Library books. The book tape is used in mounting dust jackets to hard cover books. A 2" long piece draped over the top and bottom of the the dust jacket keeps them secure. The little bit of adhesive sticking to the cover itself is not enough to worry you and the dust jackets can still be removed if you or someone else wants to read the book with them off. I never knew this clear tape existed until finding a very old 1" wide roll at an estate sale about 7 years ago. I have also used the tape on paperback books on the splices for protection. On Hard cover books that had the inner pages break off the cover the tape can be mounted to the inside of the cover and the first page - provided the page is still tightly attached to the rest of the pages.

Very nice treatment for my favorite book covers that was torn.
I recently bought a beautiful book called The Grapes Of Wrath, for half price. The fact that I dropped it a few times, while reading it it torn the front cover, I saved the torn piece , bought this awesome tape - it's made specifically for books. I taped it carefully. It's so good, smooth to touch, beautiful restitution. Some books I checked out from the library had this tape. I'm very excited that I can use the same beautiful tape on crumpled or little torn paper cover books.

SOLID
When it comes to book tape, only get a reputable brand like 3M. I've tried others and they are either trash or not for books. Books need a very good adhesive and thickness. This one has it. If your book is worth repairing, pay for a better tape like this one.

Clear, sturdy, a little hard to place
I've used book tape before, and have some old books that needed a little doctoring. This tape is very clear, a little more so than clear packing tape. It claims to also be a little thinner, but seems the same to me. I has no roller/cutter - that would leave the characteristic zig-zag cut at the end. Use good scissors to get a clean, straight cut. Like package tape, this tends to stick to itself and to the book while I'm in process of cutting and then lining it up on the book, so it's a little bit hard to keep it from going on a little crooked or wrinkled - it would be nice to be able to place it and then remove and replace if needed to get a really neat fit.

This tape is perfect to repair books that your toddler loves to pieces! It doesn’t yellow over time and is very sturdy when handling strong little hands!

Very useful tape !
This tape is VERY durable and thicker than normal sellotape by a mile, but still flexible, plus it will not yellow. I have used this not only for books, but also for the leather cover for my eBook reader, where the leather had split at the hinge, I covered it with this tape and there is no problem now, hinge is still flexible, and it has stuck to the leather no problem, it has been on now for months and shows no sign of any problems, if it had been left the cover would have definitely broke off. I am sure there are LOTS of uses for this tape, it is handy just to keep around !

A must have for book mishaps.
The only thing I don't like about it is the price as it is expensive for what it is, but having said that it is fantastic. I have used it to mend books, pages and even the boxes that book sets come in! It does not turn yellow with age and does not go brittle like sellotape does when you use it for the same purpose. It's that good, I grit my teeth and buy a new roll when the one I have runs out. I use it sparingly by cutting the tape along the middle as sometimes, I only need a fairly thin strip and it is very strong regardless.

Not a cheap product but it does deliver, affording greater strength to pages, and highly transparent. Feels like a qulaity produ
This Scotch book tape is actually thicker than I had imagined, and so much the better for it. It is a superb product that affords extra strength and stiffness to pages. I used it for binding a 70-page document in addition to some staples and it is superb. The tape is also highly transparent. I suppose a tad over £10 is a lot to pay, but believe me, yo udo get what you pay for. The package states the tape will not yellow so if that holds true, it is an excellent product. I now wish I had bought two rolls to save on the postage. Oh well...

Brilliant for repairing books!
A must have for any lover of books. This tape has so many uses linked to either torn or damaged pages or cover repair. I have used it extensively for some years now for securing the plastic covering I use to protect my hard back book covers into place. What I find great about it is that if you don't happen to get it right first time, you can remove and re-position it without damaging the paper or the print. It really is magic stuff. Well worth the cost and cheap at the price.

Premium tape that does a great job.
Very strong tape that makes an excellent job of it's intended use. I've used it to repair the spine of a heavy, well used book (large hardcover) and it shows no sign of failing. Maybe a little expensive, but I guess you get what you pay for.
