Very good reel for the price!
Very smooth reel when winding. The drag seems smooth but does not have a wide range but works fine. If you are looking for heavy drag pressure this reel will fit your needs.

REAL Impressive!
I bought a single Tempo reel that impressed me so much I decided to buy a few more. I also bought 3 Diawa spinning reels. I do not buy "lower end" reels. The majority of the spinning reels I own cost between $75.00 - $120.00 whereas the baitcasting reels I buy have an average of roughly $150. To say these reels compare favorably with the Diawa reels I bought this year is not a stretch of the imagination whatsoever! These reels are just as smooth, have a drag that so far has operated consistently, feel well balanced in my hand. Pretty much every feature one is looking for in a mid to upper end spinning reel is met. The only aspect of these reels that I can't comment on yet is the longevity though I see no reason that will be an issue. I'm "the guy" that disassembles, inspects, cleans & re-lubes every reel I buy. I only use the best synthetic lubricants (grease & oil, usually Lucas) as synthetic lubricants are far less effected by cold weather as they flow much better compared to conventional lubricants. These reels from the factory came fully greased & oiled and the grease even seems to be halfway decent, ESPECIALLY when compared to "another" popular brand of reel (Kast King, Piscifun, Sougayilang) which have all left a sour taste in my mouth. On more than one of the other brands the grease inside the reel was more similar to rubber cement compared to grease. I also saw more than a couple of the others that cam with zero grease or oil inside. I'm very impressed with these. I'm not the kind of guy who would have bought one of these had one of my friends not bought one just to see if they were any good. I bought one after using his and after 5 trips with that reel I bought more. I fish in local tournaments & I am in a small bass club. I'll have anywhere from 3-8 rods out on the boat deck at any moment, depending on where I'm fishing, type of lure I'm using etc..I even have a couple of identical rods & reels with the only difference between them being a different type of line and/or different strength of line. Face it, you're not going to have a lot of success working a finesse walking topwater bait if you're using Fluorocarbon fishing line, you'll miss some hit on "long bomb" casts using braided line (with a Fluorocarbon leader) spinnerbait as the braid has next to zero stretch...I only listed these example to explain why I'll have as many as 8 rods rigged & ready to throw when fishing in tournaments. If you're pretty serious with your fishing, like I am, I can honestly recommend an Tempo reel. I hope this review helps and if you have any questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

Very Beautiful real, needs some work
I bought the 1000 size & 3000. 1000 size is very smooth, but the 3000 When I use it it's not smooth all the way I even got it replaced and same problem. Maybe they need some more work IDK... If you pay $35 or under it's probably worth it it's always on sale on Amazon.com. but for $70 there's better options out there

Cadence = Tempo
Cadence and Tempo are owned by the same company. Their reels, and to a lesser extent, their rods undergo constant rebranding and re-marketing, and drastic pricing adjustments. Amid myriad models and brands, if you look closely--all these reels are different permutations of the same parts, perhaps painted differently. But they're interchangeable and functionally the same. Strange pricing strategies aside, they've been great mid-range reels. They're smooth, light, and durable. Note that you'll want to avoid the magnesium-bodied versions if you plan to do any salt-water fishing (although I'm sure you could just rinse it, magnesium corrodes quickly with salt). Cadence makes the claim that a percentage of their profit from each sale is donated to C.A.S.T.--a charity for special needs and disadvantaged youth. It would be nice to see that commitment across their other brands, including Tempo.

Great reel but the heel is too short to fit into some rods!!
At approximately 2.25 inches, the heel on this reel is about 0.20 inches shorter than the heel of a typical spinning reel (2.45 inches). In other words, while this is a really smooth reel, it may not fit onto some of your fishing rods!

Great value for your money
This spinning reel is as good as my Shimano Ultegra reel but only with thr price less than 1/6! Amazing value! Slightly more weight with stronger bail. I am very happy with it

Why is this so cheap?
I have a few tempo apex reels I bought at the full price and like and i don't think there is a difference between those and the cheaper "plus" reels. All I can imagine is maybe an overstock or next model year situation. Regardless, these reels are great. The frame is actually magnesium, decent gears, good drag, lightweight and durable. These feel and fish like $125-150 class reels. I have about ten of them, half of them seeing regular hard use. A few are deep into their second season and are running great.
