The Right Cable Just in Time
It took a lot of research, but I finally determined this was the cable I needed to get my Craftsman 2 stage snowblower moving again. The snowblower manual was little help in finding the correct cable and how to install it - thank goodness for the world wide web! With Prime I got this in two days, just ahead of a possible Spring snowfall. While I wish the cable had come with some basic instructions, the Internet again helped make it clear how to install this, and let me do the job in less than a ½ hour - saving me a significant sum from having a shop do this repair. I did a check run to be sure the cable functioned properly - which it did - and now I am ready in case this "winter weather advisory" turns into something significant. Why only 4 stars instead of 5? A simple sheet with some general instructions would have been appreciated.

Misled by Amazon's Choice
Probably fine, but not what I needed. This was "Amazon's Choice" for MTD 946-04230B Auger Cable, but this part is 946-04229B drive clutch cable, 43" vs. 47.5". Once I replace the broken snowblower auger cable with the right part, I may go ahead and replace the drive cable as well, since it is just as old and probably wearing as well.

Perfect replacement
After a bit of research on the web decided this was the right cable for the drive system on my 6 year old Troy Built snowthrower. Order came faster than projected and it installed in about 15 minutes without a hitch. It looks to be an exact duplicate of the one that broke. Only thing I would like to see the manufactures change is the spring. All of them are made of simple steel (which rusts) and they wind up breaking right where the spring pulls up the drive mechanism. Looked and looked for one made of stainless steel but to no avail. Oh well will just have to do with what it is and order another in about 5 years to have on hand.

Good quality replacement
Direct replacement for the drive cable on my Troy-bilt Storm 2660. It comes with the plastic zip tie already set in place just like the factory cable. This part is exactly what I needed to get my snowblower moving again.
