Durable multipurpose blade
Overall I am very pleased with the performance on my cheap Craftsman LT2000 42" mower. These blades stand up to serious and regular abuse on our rural property, handling frequent small (1+ inch dia) branch strikes and numerous fire ant mounds with complete aplomb over the course of mowing about 1.5 acres. I can't speak to the effectiveness of the mulching features (fineness and evenness of grind, etc) but I just desired a tough blade with good life attributes. Most notably, of the lifting surfaces which seem to wear off rapidly on cheap, thin-gauge blades--not here, even when subjected to the aforementioned abuse. Due to procrastination and busy-ness, much of the time the grass is too long/heavy to effectively mulch, so I just open the mulch cover and let the deck eject the clippings. With these lift surfaces that refuse to wear off, it blows the clippings a good distance when mowing with that setup. Full Disclosure- This blade would probably mulch the grass clippings to a more impressive and uniform espresso grind if I sharpened, balanced, and swapped blade positions every time l fill the gas tank, as the cognoscenti undoubtedly do. But this is a cheap blade on a cheap mower, not a $600 dollar coffee grinder! So I maintain the blades probably only once every 15-20 hours or so. Overall-great blade. If you want a low-fuss blade for mixed heavy open-deck grass reaping as well as light mulching on tamer portions of the property, this is a good value play.

Thick!!! and they do feel commercial
Easy to install on my very old Poulan 42''. I installed new spindles too. installation went smooth. I believe that they are not fully sharp from the factory, but decided to not sharpen myself and still does a great job of cutting and mulching grass. They do what they promise!

Great except for the quality of the cut
I had solid expectations for these heavy duty blades and most were met but one key one. They are thicker, they fit well and they are balanced. Best of all they do create extra lift and as a result they create a finer mulch of the clippings. There is just one problem: the cut. I have a pretty nice lawn and I could tell after the first use the grass blades were looking more ripped off than cut...the edges were jagged and not smoothly sheared off like a sharp blade produces....more like the kind of finish a string trimmer induces. The edge of the grass turned brown within a day. All subsequent cuts produced the same result. I decided to check the edge of the blades and they looked sharp with no nicks BUT I noticed a key difference with these blades and the OEM blades...these blades only have about 4 inches of designed cutting surface along the outer edge of the blade ends...the majority of the blade edge is unsharpened thick metal stock. By contrast, the OEM blade has about 8 inches of sharpened metal edge...twice the surface area designed for sharp cutting. I believe this designed in difference produces an inferior cut. On yards where weed content is higher this blade may produce adequate results...but if you value the quality of the cut and the beneficial effects such a cut has on the look and health of your grass...I would thick twice. I bought a set of replacement OEM style blades of the same make and immediately the finish looked superior and there was no browning or rippled edges.

Long Lasting Blades
I have 7 acres here in South Georgia and I mow about half of it. The soil is sandy and there are a lot of fire ant mounds. I've tried many low cost blades for my old Poulan Pro mower and most last 2 weeks or less. The sand blasts holes all the way through the blades and then the blades bend when I hit a stick or rock. These blades are actually holding up. I've used them for a couple weeks and they still look good. The down side is these don't cut as cleanly as the thinner blades. There are patches of some kind of grain-like stalks that shoot up in the lawns which are tough to cut cleanly. I have to go over some areas twice with these blades but I'm not aiming for manicured lawns, just mowed lawns so I'll stick with these blades.

Worth the extra money. Recommended for weedy lawns.
Since we have more of a "weed salad" than a lawn up here in the woods, I expected these blades to be much like the others I have used, I was surprised to see the extra thickness and the three "spoilers" at each end of the blades, which obviously create extra lift, turbulence and suction inside the mower deck. They were slightly off balance out of box but I trimmed the heavy ends and there is a minimum of deck vibration. These blades performed above my expectations and the quality of the cut was reflected in the obvious visual quality of the blades. The heavier weight of these blades causes a little belt squeak upon engagement, but also creates more momentum for tougher cutting jobs. Recommended mid-grade blades.

Take care when tightening on the spindle
One side fit perfect, the other not too well. Had to tighten bolt much harder on side that did not fit well to make cut even side to side. Once that was done, very nice cut!

21-in blade not 42-in blade
This is only a 21-in blade! 42 in of Blade would require two of them! I do not like the description whatsoever. And it makes for a lousy value.

I ONLY RECEIVED ONE BLADE!!!
This product information is misleading! Same price as two blades but I only received one!
