Perfect for day hikes or as a tech admin pouch
I purchased this pouch specifically to keep my pockets relatively free and to have a safe place to stow my phone while on some rugged day hikes. The thin profile is exactly what I want as it is mounted on my leather belt 95% of the time. That keeps it from annoying me and/or snagging on things as I pass through brush or move my arms around. As mentioned in other reviews there are two main pockets with dividers and mini organizer slots within. There is a grommeted hole in the top rear portion of the pouch. I have no use for it, but it could be used for a headphone cord or the like. The pouch will comfortably fit a smart phone measuring 5.7” tall and 2.8 inches wide with plenty of room to spare. I can also keep a few EDC essentials in the pouch along with a few snacks, etc. for the day. I do not believe I could fit any but the tiniest of CCW’s in the pouch, but that’s not what I purchased it for. The molle webbing on the back also allows me to quickly place it on a small day pack when I need a bit more gear with me. Transitioning from belt carry to pack carry just takes a few minutes. As with all Maxpedition gear that I have (a few rolly “dump” pouches and a bottle carrier) the construction and QC blows away the Condor pouches and no-name gear that I have purchased through the years on Amazon. There are very few threads that need to be melted and I have experienced no failures of any kind. Maxpedition is not cheap, but when I want a tough bit of gear that will last, I have no hesitation buying from them. Last, the Foliage Green color seems to match (or at least not clash with) most terrain and outdoor clothing colors fairly well. This allows me to use gear both while hunting or in leisure time without looking like some kind of mall ninja.

Rugged and well designed
Good quality. Material has been really durable. Main compartment has a pocket with elastic against the inner wall. The rest is open without dividers. Cell phone holder works well but does not offer all that much protection for the phone’s corners as it sits in the pouch. Need a rugged case if you want to use it that way in a hard-use situation. Bottom line: 4.5 stars because the price is a bit stiff, but if the quality and durability are most important to you then this may be a good option. You will be hard pressed to find better in that regard. I would advise against putting a smartphone in the holder and knocking it around unless one has a case like the Otterbox Defender or better on the phone. Best to you and yours!

Solid construction but be sure of your application...
This Maxpedition small pocket organizer is typical of their entire line of products, constructed of very durable nylon, heavy stitching where necessary, quality zippers that don't hang or snag, strong elastic loops, and laminated/coated side panels -- overall this thing is constructed to take significant abuse. Rated four stars not due to durability but design. Short of a means to consolidate pocket admin materials like a small notebook, pens/pencils, paper clips, etc the user will find some difficulty with other uses. I purchased for the purpose of an EDC small FAK for a 36hrs bag, however it is so narrow in terms of thickness/width that it can barely accommodate a vile more than 1" in diameter, ACE bandages of any usable size can forget it, med bottles will need to be ultra-miniature, blah, blah, blah. Also in terms of design there are three components that simply cause a head scratch moment: 1) riveted 1/4" drain holes on the front outer pocket & rear main pocket, 2) the grab handle is well constructed but it has a fixed web clip so large it could restrain a donkey no need for such a large/strong beener-like clip on such a small bag, it also has two D-rings stitched into each end of the handle on the backside of the bag, and 3) as mentioned above it has internally laminated side panels for waterproofing however it has a media cable "hole" on the top/rear area to route media wires for items such as ear buds and the drain holes, well they open to each compartment...not to mention the zippers are far from wp. 3-lane molle webbing is well fabricated as expected from Max. Inside the main compartment it has one zippered pouch and numerous elastic webbing loops stitched vertically, in the smaller front pocket it has similar elastic webbing stitched horizontally so anything strapped in the elastic cannot exceed the approximate 4.5" width dimension. Overall it is constructed of very durable materials however due to such a thin dimension and quirkiness in design it is limited in use and for the costly price ($30) a user can probably get more in a different bag/pouch by Max or Condor.

Great product
Product is great, it can be used to hold your cellphone on the exterior pouch. The interior has plenty of room for cards, pens, radio etc.

Fits my Moto 3z with my wallet and card carrier!
The product is well made, as any Maxpedition one is. The mollie loops on the back snap firmly and hold when pulled hard against. The interior is light on the interior of the pouch, allowing you to find what you need quickly. The phone pouch is on the outside and you don't lose interior space by putting in a phone. The velcro holds the flap closed until you pull it open. Your phone will not drop out! The way they make the pouch adds some safety to the phone pocket, just in case the pouch is unsnapped somehow. It is great. It does not keep your phone waterproof, so I wouldn't take it places where you are treading water or out somewhere in a downpour. The zippers can be temperamental on the curve of the edge, but the pulls make them slide easily with the interior of the pouch stuffed. It is a great pouch and you won't be disappointed in getting it.

Well-made small phone pouch (caseless in front pocket). The pull-up feature doesn't work that well.
Well-made, sturdy, expensive (you're paying for the Maxpedition brand). It's a small compact pouch which looks very fat when full. Depending on its size, a phone goes in the front or rear pocket. The two pockets turns this into a very small EDC (everyday carry). Maxpedition calls this the PUP - Phone Utility Pouch. The Amazon page calls it Phone Utility Bag (PUB!). PULL-UP FEATURE The phone, provided it's in the front pocket, is meant to lift niftily upwards so that it can be taken hold of more easily, by pulling the front strap up to open the pocket and continue pulling up to pull the phone up, but it doesn't do it nearly as well as in the Maxpedition Y ouTube demo /watch?v=rD2KnJbBQaw which is for an older version than the one I received (with the newer one you can't access the lifting "mechanism" i.e. the button). To fit the front pocket, the phone really needs to be narrow and slimline e.g. a smartphone, and NOT be in a case - the Maxpedition demo shows that clearly. VERSATILE ATTACHMENT OPTIONS USING MOLLE The MOLLE* webbing and straps (but they are plastic) on the pouch's rear are handy, allowing the pouch to be firmly attached other things such as a backpack. * MOdular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment - a version of load-bearing gear used by the U.S. Military DISCREET BRANDING It comes with two Maxpedition (unobtrusively marked "Maxpedition") zipper pull cords. Otherwise there's no Maxpedition patch. This means the branding is discreet, which I personally prefer, but mentioned as some like discreet branding, others like it to be conspicuous as Maxpedition has a reputation for top quality and top price. SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT The pouch could do with small built-in D-rings so that an optional shoulder strap can be added, or to hang items from e.g. mini-torch, key. This would greatly increase the range of use and really would turn it into a good small EDC, as other EDCs tend to be large.

Excellent pouch with Maxpedition's usual hi quality finish.
Great product. Solid Atlas attachments either to another Maxpedition bag. I have mine either on shoulder strap or side pocket of my Wolfspur.
