I hate myself for not thinking of it
So first off, this is the logical progression of the Rollypoly drop pouches. It escapes me how I had seen them in stores for years, but never said "someone could totally make a kick-ass backpack like that." It wasn't until I was perusing the Maxpedition website one day that I saw this and it all fell into place. It was just the size I thought it would be (I'm a smart cookie, and busted out a tape measure to get a good picture of how big it was before ordering), but there are some problems that I find it hard to believe that the person that came up with such an amazing idea (the idea is amazing, whether it lives up to the idea is up to the end-user) could have overlooked: 1. It can be worn backwards to use the MOLLE straps, but it shouldn't HAVE to be. Another set on the front would be a great idea. 2. The hell is the Siamese Slikclip for? I haven't the foggiest. A much better idea would have been to have a web handle on the thing, like the Extreme version of this pack. Or both. But every time I see this pack, I ask myself "what's with that little thing up there? When would I ever attach a pack to a dangling strap? I hate dangling straps!" But then again, I could very easily attach a web handle to this, if I ever could get around to it. Its one of those things that I will bitch and complain about until I do it, but I won't get around to doing it for a while because it is not that big of a deal. It also has a BIG belt loop behind the MOLLE straps for some reason. I guess so you can attach it to your belt, but the day I attach a back pack to my belt will be about 5 hours into a three-day long blackout, at the end of which I will be committed to an asylum...

Simple and effective.
Simple and effective. Not the most comfortable of bags but that's not quite the point of this design. If you don't have much to carry then this should suit your needs.

Useful rolly
I got my sister the Extreme and got a chance to use it while hiking. Loved it. Of course, the Extreme is rather hard now to find and expensive to boot, as is the Merlin, so I was delighted to find this simpler but still similarly useful edition that is cheaper than either of the others by a lot. Obviously, this isn't meant for heavy loads and won't be comfortable for them as it isn't built with padding and such, but it easily takes what I need for day hikes or wandering about a city where I need something for a jacket, water bottle, snacks, small EDC kit, and small purchases. When I take my main pack, I just attach this to it and now have a highly useful large forage bag that rolls up small. When I'm at hotels or traveling, the addition of this gives me day trip options without having extra weight. Very pleased. Maxpedition stuff isn't cheap but it lasts, which makes it worth buying anyway.

Simply good.
I've had the khaki version for well over a year, now, and it has held up pretty well. I'm still wary about the hook-and-loop eventually wearing out, but it still seems to be working, for now. It's good for light loads, like towels or clothing, because the shoulder straps are a little too narrow to be comfortable for carrying anything approaching substantial weight--like, say, anything more than twenty pounds? Granted, it depends on what you're putting in it. The interior pocket is definitely a nice touch, it's helpful for keeping small things organized, even if it doesn't hold much--but making it larger isn't exactly feasible, due to how the backpack folds up. It's a nice simple backpack that can be folded up when it's not in use. If I can, I would love to pick up another one, later on. It'd be nice to have a spare, especially if Maxpedition's quality hasn't slipped.

Sack
I bought a bag for my bag to put in my bag. I bought a couple of these, one for my computer bag and the other for my larger packs so I don't have to lug around a huge backpack. Its Maxpedition quality so no worries there. Its not a super huge bag but just enough to hold some stuff and small enough to throw around and stuff under a car seat. I have yet to purchase anything from Maxpedition that was bad.

One of the best backpack
This is a durable and light weight backpack one of the best out there. The idea that it can be folded to a very small thing and then be used as a carrying backpack whether you are in open or urban areas is just amazing. I’m using all the time and must admit this the one of the strongest but yet most comfortable light carrying backpack I came across.

Diaper Bag
My wife originally bought some fancy diaper bag to use for our newborn daughter. I decided that it wasn't for me. I searched around for a good maxpedition bag that I could use as such. I saw lots of reviews of people using the versipacks as diaper bags but I just couldn't picture myself using it. I ultimately decided on the Rollypoly backpack. It fits everything we need for the day or even a couple of days. Reading some of the reviews I saw that some guys had SO MUCH stuff into their diaper bags. My daughter is almost 2 now and I've realized that you don't really need that much stuff. A few diapers, some wipes, a change of clothes, some snacks (for her and I), and anything else deemed essential. All in all this bag fits the bill. As a bonus, my wife even told me that it was a good idea and she really likes it. I did add a paracord grab handle to the top.

Handy, small tourist bag
A very good niche bag for tourists. As others have already pointed out, if you plan to carry a lot of things, then this is not the bag for you since the straps are very thin; however, if you want a handy bag to carry 1-2 bottles of water or some small souvenirs then this is the bag to get. I travel a lot and used to find myself carrying a few snacks or bottles of water around in my hand or a plastic T-shirt bag. Now, I start the day with the Rollypoly Backpack folded up and fastened on a beltloop on my pants. When I get thirsty, I purchase a bottled drink and perhaps a snack. If I don't finish the drink, I unfold the Rollypack and place my drink inside. The material is fairly lightweight, but durable and is somewhat water repellent. This is a handy bag for urban tourists.
