Perfect for hammock camping!

I purchased this in "JR" sized so I could use in tent, shelter, and mostly in hammock set up. The full length pads do not work in a hammock. This is wide, I can side sleep perfectly on this. I am 5'5, 160lbs. It is soft on one side so no more "sticky" feeling at night, and packs down super tiny. At half the weight of my original pad, this is my new favorite gear piece! 4 stars only bc the repair patch is missing. I will be buying a second one of these for my husband as well. I did notice someone said something about their dog on this- I would not suggest that- it does seem like a dogs nails could easily tear the fabric and poke holes. Without a provided repair kit, I wouldn't risk it.

Deflated on 1st use, and return process is not the usual amazon return

This pad is ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. I inflated it for the 1st time, and *did not even actually use it* (just laid on it for a few seconds on the rug to test comfort). I came back a few hours later and it was significantly deflated. I checked that i had the 'inflate' and 'deflate' valves shut properly, and retested, but the same deflation happened after a few hours--with **NO WEIGHT BEING PUT ON IT WHATSOEVER**. On top of that, ***THE PATCH KIT WAS MISSING***. When i went to file a return, ***AMAZON WON'T ALLOW THE NORMAL RETURN PROCESS***. It asks that you contact the company. Complete BS on amazon's part here also--we buy things knowing that we can return them easily when they're labeled "FREE RETURNS". Now i have to scramble to get this thing returned and find an alternative before my scheduled trip coming up soon. I usually don't bother to write reviews let alone negative ones, but this is supposed to be a reputable company. I'm pissed that what i received was a BS POS knock-off quality item that was broken even before it's first real use. I'll contact the company to see how the customer service is. Hopefully they'll make it right. What a waste of time and money.

Just OK!

Purchased this in September of 2022 and it already has a leak/hole in it. This pad has never been on the bear ground, it has always been used on a hard surface like the floor. It has never had any sharp objects on it at all. Kinda disappointing that it didn't last as long as it did. I will say the pad was used very regularly say 8 to 10 times a month. The pad feels very well made and has thick material but apparently not thick enough.

Side Sleepers Read This

I purchased this air mattress to use on during our Grand Canyon backpacking trip. I was sharing a tent with my husband and two full size mattresses wouldn't fit so this molded into the small space left when his full size mattress was inflated. I am a side sleeper and was worried about sleeping on the hard ground of the Grand Canyon with just this mat below me but this thing was awesome. No pressure points in the normal spots (hips, shoulders), easy to inflate and deflate, small and super lightweight. To say I was/am pleased is an understatement. I am 5'7" roughly 130 pounds and when I was sleeping in the fetal position on my side my entire body fit on it no problem. I can't recommend this enough to my fellow backpacking, worried about weight and space side sleepers!

Great short sleeping pad for kids (and adults)!

This is a fantastic product so far. The Klymit Static V Junior is basically a shorter version of the Static V mat. It fits my 8 year old son perfectly and it is way more comfortable than closed cell mats. The mat has two valves. One for inflating and one for deflating. The inflating valve has a check valve to hold the air in between breaths. Despite the thickness of the mattress, it only takes 8 or so breaths to completely fill it. To deflate it, just pop the deflate valve and it empties quickly. It rolls up into a tight roll and fits easily into the included sack that is a bit smaller than a 1L Nalgene bottle. It holds air all night without a problem and it comes with a repair kit in case it leaks. We haven't experienced any leaks after a handful of overnight camping trips. I've seen some reviews that claim that this mat is noisy when rolling over, but I haven't experienced this. It makes the same noise as any air mattress would. I would highly recommend this air mattress for kids that are less than 4' 6" tall and for adults who don't mind their lower legs hanging off the pad.

great for backpacking and travel

It's amazingly small and light when folded, great for backpacking and travel! This size is for kids, but small adult will easily fit on it too, especially if laying on a side. I am 5'5" and if I lay on my back, only my feet end up on the ground. It doesn't leak air, I kept it inflated for 5 days to test for leaks. It would be definitely better for travel than a bulky yoga mat. The reason I give it 4 stars: it's extremely hard to fold after use in order to fit into the original bag, I wish the bag was a bit longer. I re-folded it about 10 times and I still can't tie strings on the bag. Also note that this mattress is not as thick when inflated as an airbed or a floating pool mattress. Consider it an alternative for a thick yoga mat, not for a camp bed.

Reasonably priced, lighter weight

I like klymit products and own more than a few sleeping pads from klymit. Was looking for a reasonable priced lighter more compact pad for my new EDC tent set up. I needed a pad that packed small and provided some comfort as I have some hip pain that a is exacerbated when sleeping on thin pads. The static v JR ticked all of my boxes for size, weight and cost. I have had no issues with my pad or as a fact any klymit pads leaking or loosing firmness throug out the night. I have had some experience with klymit customer service in the past when one of the pump for the motion 30 packs started leaking and loosing air. Warranty replacement was quick and simple and only required an email. I received the replacement pump within a few days no issues or cost. As far as I am concerned klymit is a great company with even better customer service.

Fantastic size and convenience

Used it to camp on safari in Zimbabwe. Fantastic for the size, but I wish I had indulged in the full size one, as I wriggle a lot. For a non wriggler, it covers all the essential body stress points and I highly recommend for size, weight and convenience

Best option for the price!

I'm 5'6" and usually sleep with my knees curled up a bit, so actually this it long enough to use even without my backpack under my feet at the end! Plenty wide and super comfy!

Nice short camping mat

Does what it should. A little challenging for heavier people but that’s why we hike. To get lighter. Easy to blow up. Took me 8 breaths. After it was adjusted air-wise it was very comfortable. Will he used mostly with a hammock. Longer mats are challenging with a hammock. This one fits great. So far so good.

Bueno por el precio

Me gustó mucho el producto. Especialmente por el tamaño, si es para jóvenes o incluso para adultos no necesitas algo full size. Los uso en camping y montañismo dónde el peso y el tamaño verdaderamente importa. Solo que los dos que compré se despegaron de las uniones (el tipo pegamento que forma las "V") y se salía el aire. Pero hice válida la garantía a través de KLYMIT.COM y sin demasiadas preguntas enviaron dos nuevos hasta México. Recomiendo no inflar demasiado.
