I do not believe that it's a 1/2" cable

It feels remarkably light and cheap, as if there was a 3/8" cable encase in plastic 'lumps' to make it look strong. Unless I find clear indication otherwise, I will return it because I do not trust it to keep my bike safe.

Sturdy but need key to lock it

Only downfall is that you have to have the key in it in order for the end to go in fully and then lock it. Kind of need 3 hands. Other than that a very sturdy lock.

Seems solid and sturdy against theft.

Using two, to secure my generator to my truck bed and also two large propane tanks to the tongue of my travel trailer. Seems sturdy against bolt cutters.

Great lock!

It works as described. This is not 100% theft proof, but it sure helped me from almost getting mt bike stolen.

Heavy duty, great for locking your spare off-roading tires.

Works perfect for what I bought it for, to lockdown my 2 spare off-roading tires so I don’t have to constantly take them on and off when I hit the dirt. I now don’t have to be worried about my tires unwantedly being taken off easily anymore. This at least will make someone really have to work to get them off.

Very sturdy

Works great. I used it to secure my motorcycle to the trailer during our move. It's plastic coated so it won't scratch the bike.

Well, it LOOKS good but pick something else

The guy who wants your stuff merely pulls out a battery powered angle grinder and takes it. That is reality. Nobody is going to stop him. Certainly no lock will stop him. I bought this Quantum 30 Armored Cable Lock for my scooters because it looks hard to defeat. That makes the thief move on to the next one and that is all I can hope for from a lock. Incidentally, when I googled for this model, I didn't see a video on how to defeat it so I think that is a positive. I like it because it is very flexible and I can coil it tight enough to fit in the space under my scooter seat. I prefer to leave it unlocked while coiled. The plastic coating prevents scratches on my bike. Six feet is a useful length for me. I seem to turn the key the wrong way quite often, but that probably isn't the lock's fault. I do wish the lock would allow me to lock it without the key being in the keyhole but again, that is a small disadvantage. Update: Nope. We have bought several. The key sticks in the lock and it becomes very difficult to open. Buy something else. We prefer the same design but blue vinyl and shorter, available at your local super-cheap-chinese-tool place for twenty clams.

The outer layer is like tin, i was able to sheer it just with my hands, by bending it. The inner chain is very thin. This thing offers no protection at all apart from looks. You can find $15 chains that are much sturdier on amazon. Extremely disappointed

Solid lock

Was expecting it a bit longer, but it does the job of looking the bike to a post. Only have an issue with making the key fit the 6 tumbler holes, you have to fight a bit to get them to all line up so the key can go all the way in and unlock it.

This is a truly wonderful lock, I used it to tow my mobile home around and pull tree stumps. The best part about this lock is nobody will be able to steal your bike, as it will be too heavy with this badboy around it. You also wont be able to bike with this 30 lbs weight on it.

Great, I use it to secure my electric car’s charger and it is strong. I feel confident the appareance discourages thiefs.
