Pricey with a slight advantage
Is it a cheap lock? Yes. It is a bit expensive? Yep. So why did I give it four stars? Three reasons: 1) It does what it is supposed to do. Locks like this are just a deterrent to stop opportunists from walking off with a bike on your carrier while you grab a bite to eat or go into the convenience store. They are not for preventing professional thieves with time and intent. 2) It matches the bike rack Pretty self explanatory. I have a black Thule bike rack with a black Thule locking hitch pin and this is the matching black Thule lock. 3) Supports the One-Key system I have a Thule locking hitch pin to deter thieves from walking off with my bike rack. Having one key to unlock both this cable lock and the hitch pin is really nice. So if you don't care about using the same key for other Thule locks and don't care about a uniform looking setup, I would suggest that you pass on this lock and grab a higher quality one for less. However, if the three points I outlined resonate with you, then this is the lock for you.

Only worth it for the ONE lock system..
If you just need a simple cable lock, this is overpriced by about $35. Stay away. If your like me and have other Thule products and want 1 key for all locks then this is worth the premium price. Thule knows they are the only one that offers this ONE lock cable, so they can rip us off unfortunately. I have also had to return 3 of these due to faulty manufacturing. Bottom line.... buy this ONLY if you want the Thule one lock system for multiple locks.

Easily could to carry under the seat
I lock my bike up in the garage and when it’s time to ride it easily coils and fits under the seat

Could have been better
In general, the lock system is OK, and it does the job, but a better locking system could be purchased. The lock system come in a package with lousy instructions for assembly of the lock tumbler to the cable. My first lock could not lock at all, and I had a replacement sent to me, but the new system cable lock barely does much better. The locking lip on the cross piece is small, and it would be opened with a good hammer strike. I am a Thule fan, so I expected more from the product.Thule 538XT 6-Feet One-Key System Cable Lock

does exactly what it was bought for. length is good. used so far with just two adult bikes loaded but still plenty of cable for additional bikes. purchased with 5 bike thule rack, with expectation that this cable will secure up to 5 bikes loaded.

Lasted barely five months
Used two of these to lock our kayaks up. Very quickly it became a struggle to get the locks to open, and with one, the barrel became loose and came out of the housing. Last week we were unable to get one of the locks to work at all, and had to angle grind the cable in two to get access to the kayaks. We must have used the locks perhaps half a dozen times, as they were at our holiday caravan. Not the quality I expected for the price.

Barrel fell out in use, then is openable with a kitchen spoon
Basically no protection, all you need is a second one of theses and you can open any other lock by switching the barrel. Pointless product really, I can't believe they sell it

ME encanto. Recomiendo al 100% este producto ya que lo puedes llevar en el tubo de la bicicleta y no es aparatoso. Tambien el tipo de llave y los acabados es fabulosa. Saludos!
