My dream came true????. Thank you Brother and Amazon. Love it to the moon and back!
I ordered it in January 2021, and got it on time, well packaged with the machine and all it's accessories intact. I cannot remember the last time I was that excited while waiting for an order. This machine is a beauty to behold (sometimes I just sit and look at it and thank my Lucky stars I ordered it from Amazon). It is a joy to sew with as it sews like a dream????. It was love at first sight for me, yes...I fell in love with my machine and I fell real hard. I have done some monogramming with it and it came out so beautiful. I have also mended clothes and sewn simple projects with it and it did the job with ease. The fact that it runs quietly and the led light shines so bright is a given. A good piece of advice though, run away from cheap and bad threads because it hates it. I will continue to rock my machine and I will give an update on its durability and usage later. If you are looking for an all round no stress machine, look no further, just order this machine and thank me later. Believe me you will become the fashionista of your dreams as it can handle most projects and materials like denim, cotton, polyester etc. I simply adore my brother SE600 and you will too. Update after 2 years in my sewing and craft room... I simply adore this machine. I use it mostly for it's embroidery function as I got another brother sewing machine with one size font lettering capability. Brother SE600 is simply the best. Some tips for you though... Do yourself a huge favour...READ YOUR MANUAL from start to finish. You will be glad you did. You will not visit any repair/service workshop for a long time if you do. Buy 75/11, 80/12 and 90/14 organ needles in packs. More of the 75/11 though. Don't bother with any other brand if you want no incessant needle breaks, needle timing issues, needle and bobbin case hit and miss stories etc. The longevity and durability of organ needles are a plus too. I now understand why brother recommend it for use in their machines, they are in sync period. Use the best rayon and polyester threads you can find, do not go cheap and too cheap on it, you will not only be disappointed but you will definitely regret it. I use newbrothread polyester threads for most of my embroidery designs and a very good rayon thread (threw away the label and box so I cannot remember the brand name sorry). I only use simthread prewound bobbins for all my projects. I found out that simthread prewound bobbin threads were the exact weight recommended by brother for their machines unlike the newbrothread prewound bobbins I saw on Amazon. I stuck to simthread because it does not shred nor release too many lint in my bobbin case. It never cuts off, lasts long and sews to the last thread. It works very well with the newbrothread polyester threads as top threads. Stick to the tension that works for your machine embroidery needs. Avoid uncessary trials and errors. I stuck to 4 on mine. It was set like so from the factory and when I sewed with it, it came out perfect and I never touched that dial till date. Threading it is a breeze, just follow the instructions on the body. If your needle is not threading automatically, leave a longer thread tail and also check out the machine arm wheel and align the line on the rolling arm to the slit on top of the machine. It does the trick. Clean your machine after each project if you can. I couldn't lol so I stuck to my weekly routine which worked perfectly because I was not using it on daily basis. If you use it daily on several projects then change your needle daily. I never got used to the idea of a new needle for every new project lol but I noticed that the needle change and cleaning of the machine helps it to work quietly and smoothly without needle breaks, tension issues or bunched up threads. Trust me, I know. When I maintained my cleaning, oiling, needle change and good thread routine, I decided I couldn't live without my machine lol. Buy a small laptop vaccum cleaner, it works for cleaning the insides of your sewing machine too. Contrary to popular believe, do not oil your machine too often, read your manual to know how often and where to oil your machine. I only oil my bobbin area sparingly after cleaning it. A tiny drop of oil from my lily white zoom spout bottle. Use the dust cover to protect your machine after each use, don't procrastinate and don't be lazy too. Dust and debris are your machine's worst enemies. I use the dust cover it came with cover mine and then another bag for the embroidery arm. Lastly, make your machine uniquely yours by tweaking the look of it lol. Add some stickers and your name on the body. I hope this helped someone. Cheers.

Machine: Good. Company/Website: Not so much.
First, and most importantly, this is a good machine. It does a good job if you take the time to learn to use it. It's pretty easy to learn, so most anyone should have no problems getting good results. I can't speak for consistancy at this point because I haven't done enough to say, but I expect it to be consistant as long as it is maintained. My one complaint is with the company, support, and websites. This whole things, that I will condense, starts with a little flyer that comes with the machine and offers 1 free Embroidery Design from iBroidery (a Brother company/site) when you "register your product online at brother-usa...." If that's the only requirement, then the process just failed, but I suspect there is an order of operations and steps that need to be completed, and those are just not shown anywhere that I have seen. I am a little obsesive and I don't quit easily, so I have spent more time than 10 free designs would be worth, and have yet to figure out how to get this. That would be a small complaint, but, in the time I have spent trying to figure it out, it has become glaringly obviouse that Brother's websites, and support options are pretty bad. So much of the site has links that don't go where you would expect. For example, when I click, from the support section, to send an email, it just takes me to a page to "help find which printer is right for you." So, I like the machine, but after the waisted time on their websites, I have grown totally frustrated with Brother in general. Some people will disagree with taking a full star from them for this, but I believe the ability to get support on a machine like this is at least 1-star's worth of important, so it's a 4 star product that is getting 3 from me.

Great machine.
Shipped in a timely manner, works great, just going to be using it for embroidery purposes. Already embroidered a few things, very easy to set up, love the touch screen.

Worst machine Ever
I bought this SE 600 in February 2023, in March 2023 it stopped working. In the month or so I had the machine, it broke every needle an froze up. Amazon says it's a manufacturer issue an won't replace it. Brother has yet to get back to me

Terrible instructions
I have used this machine for about 8 months. Normal sewing, such as for clothing is fine. However I recently tried to use the embroidery aspect. It’s been extremely frustrating. Instructions are practically non existent. I’ve had to watch you tube videos on how to put on the embroidery foot, how to get to the embroidery patterns, etc. The manual is next to useless for embroidery. Also, in order to buy embroidery patterns online you have to Register your machine with brother. I thought I had done that, as they had my personal info but nope. It wasn’t registered. That led to a very long frustrating process of trying to find the “machine number” which is buried within the computerized info. The “button “ that you tube claims you push did not take me to the info. It was 3 more buttons after that to finally find it. If I have to again, I doubt I’d be able to. This entire process just to buy 1 embroidery pattern and set up using it was a nightmare. Brother really needs to expand their manual so it includes explicit instructions on how to set up and USE the embroidery part of this embroidery machine.

Love this machine
I have used this machine for a little over a month now and love it. The only thing that I wish is that it had a few more font choices preinstalled along with some more graphics. It works well and the stitches are very nice and the embroidery is wonderful.

Easy to use
From the moment I first took it out of the box I was afraid to use this machine. But it is just so easy to use. Push a button and it does it all. I did order a PES file stick from Amazon for the Brother embroidery machine. Works great. You will be happy with this machine

Awsome machine, but
The machine is great, it feels great ans solid. However the learnig curve is steap. As a sewing machine, it is good and I have no comments. But as an embroidery machine it is not user friendly. I did my research before buying and knew it. There is few patern that comes with the machine. It seems to be the reason of the lower price. So if you want to embroider, you have 3 choice. 1- Use a service to make your patern or just buy them premade one on etsy. 2- buy an expensive sofware to make them yourself (100-1000$) 3- learn to use inkscape with inkstich, that is free but far from user friendly to someone not good with computers.

Very quiet smooth machine
After comparison shopping and reading reviews between this and a Singer model I opted for the Brother machine. Having used Brother for years and using an embroidery only machine from Singer I am well versed in the mechanics and issues with both. This Brother machine is a lot quieter and feels smoother than the model I replaced it with. It was easy to set up but no where in the instructions did it state to touch the LED screen to start it - I was lost at first as to why nothing was working - you need to touch the screen to start! I also have noticed that the machine when in Zig Zag will skip stitched and often breaks the thread. This may be due to it being on too fast of a setting or a tension error which I will play with - however my older Brother never did this. I purchased this for sewing only as it was a great price for the features I need. And I appreciate how nice and bright the sewing surface is illuminated as well as how quiet it is in use.

So Easy!!
Prior to this machine I was using my Mom's 50 year old Kenmore. While that's still a good machine, the ease of use of this one is amazing: auto-threading needle, drop-in bobbin, tension adjustment, bobbin winding, the list goes on... The embroidery function is awesome! NOTE: The iBroidery software is not available in Canada, however I found great open source software: Inkscape (inkscape.org) - with Inkstitch extension.
