Magnificent chain and lock.

Onguard Beast Chain Lock with X4 Padlock Magnificent chain and lock. Extremely heavy duty. There is no perfect lock in the world however this unit will take some time to penetrate. I race motocross in my state. I drive from region to region and stay at hotels. My group always has one watch person monitoring the bikes at night as they are locked outside. We have been tested a few times at about the 3 AM hour. That said, we found cables are not much a challenge for motorbike thieves. I have had bikes taken out our pickup truck that embraced two 20mm cables. Both cut in very short order. Thank god for psychotic motorcross riders willing to jump from the second story of the hotel on some thugs head. Bikes were dropped in the parking lot and thieves abandon ship with a few black and blues. I have reviewed testing on this locking system. I feel we will have a significant amount of time to walk to the first floor, have breakfast and then call the police before thieves will get through on this system. Pros: The chain could pull a tractor with no issue. Very strong metal that is extremely difficult to cut. The lock can withstand a 9mm gun shot and is drill resistant. Buy it!!! Note: Most 12 yr old kids can not curl this chain and lock with one hand.

Bigger than you think

SUPER BIG. I looked at some images and none do the justice when you have this thing in your hands. I can see why it costs so much. Quality seems good for the chain, no way you can cut this easily with powered equipment and impossible to cut with hand chain cutters. Only thing that doesn't feel as strong is the lock itself. It feels kind of light and seems breakable. I tell you this because that is how it feels and have not tested it myself. Is it for bicycles? Probably not. I got it for my motorcycle. If someone wanted your bike and was experienced, they could use power equipment to cut it off. Best bet for a thief is to have an portable angle grinder to saw it off. Will still take 10+ minutes to saw it off. As far as chains go, this is as good as it gets. Price compared to others seem to be nicer too. One other thing is the warranty is only for if the thief uses hand tools if i am not mistaken. And it must be registered within 14 days of purchase.

Excellent.

Perfect. Exactly as advertised. I use this chain to lock my handlebars and form to my frame. This lock isn't getting cut with anything less than a power tool. Period. Bolt cutters won't do it, wire cutters certainly won't do it, cheap battery powered power tools won't do it, powertools with dull blades won't do it. Also, powerfull jigzaws wiuld take forever. You basically need a huge diegrinder to cut this chain, or maybe a high powered dremel. I leave my bike locked up for 8 hours at a time. I trust my bike to this chain, along with two kyrptonite fhagetabout Ulocks, and a wirelock for my seat. When all three types of locks are used together it would be very difficult to steal the bike for which the locks are protecting. Invest $300-$400 in locks once in your life to protect your $2,000+ roadbikes for life. There is no greater investment if your an avid rider who commutes to work/school. Plus, you'll never have to worry about your bike ever being stolen.

Solid Lock and Chain!

Pros: This chain is HEFTY! The chain sheath makes it much quieter when moving it around while unlocking and also aids in protecting whatever piece of your bike you are looping through. Nothing about this thing feels cheap at all. More keys than a person knows what to do with, but for a few cents on them, it's a good feature. Definitely a solid setup. Cons: The warranty very specifically states that it must be registered within 14days of purchase...and, it also only covers the lock being broken itself, not the chain being cut. Checkout the pricing on the warranty breakdown and read the warranty details on their website. If you've got your own insurance, I don't think it's that big of an extra offer for a motorcycle (maybe a bicycle though). With the Chain at 6', I am limited to parking my bike and locking it in 1 location/direction in our carport - another 1.5' would really help (just an idea). Still 5 stars, even with the cons though!

Perfect Spare Tire Lock on a Motor Vehicle

Don’t think I would carry this with me for a bike, too heavily. But, that’s not my usage. It is my spare tire ant-theft device. Goes through the frame, around a large 19” tire, and is doubled up on the shackles. It is just going to take too much time and noise to steal the spare to be worth the effort. Let the thief move into the next vehicle employing a 14mm or smaller cable lock. Those are defeated quietly in 30 seconds or less using ordinary bolt cutters. It’s all about deterrence.

It really is a beast.

This thing is truly a beast... I got the long one, but I probably should have got the shorter one. It's so heavy that my son really can't wrap it around multiple parts of the bike like we had planned. My son uses this to park his bike outside his college apartment (near campus where bike theft is rampant). He leaves the chain at the parking station (it's way to heavy to haul around) and we both feel very confident that his bike will be safe. It would take a very dedicated thief with a very high powered machine to crack through this sucker..... you can watch videos on YouTube of people trying to cut this chain. If you must leave your bike outside - I'm pretty sure this is the best chain your gonna find.

It really is a beast

I bought this chain for my bicycle after several neighbors in my new apartment complex told me that my bike was likely to be stolen from my porch if I kept it locked with a flimsy device. A little research lead me to this lock, except there were so many of them, I wasn't sure which to pick. I ended up paying more attention to the length of the chain than the weight. When it arrived, I was shocked at how heavy it was -- this is definitely an "in place" lock -- you don't want to be hauling this thing around. I considered sending it back, especially when I realized it was really meant more for motorcycles, but it works perfectly to chain my bike up to a post on my patio. Anyone that takes the time to break this behemoth deserves my bike!

The name fits

This is one "Beast" of a chain and lock set. The large 14mm chain gives you peace of mind that your goods will stay safe even overnight. The work required to disable these big chains and lock sets is too much for the average thief. The deterrent factor is what makes these much safer than any other form of lock set. Couple this with some added alternate locks on your bike or goods and its the best protection you will find. Some of the welds could use some smoothing but it doesn't affect the strength or performance. The lock is beefy and has four way deadbolts. Very comparable to any other brand chain and lock of this size.

Take a bite out of crime

Its Big its Bad its a chain and lock built to intimidate pesky road side thieves from enjoying your ride. I recommend it to those who are not complainers. It weighs 13 lbs and feels like exercise when worn over the shoulder. I like it

No hay mejor cadena para mi moto

Es super pesada, mega estorbosa y por lo tanto no hay cosa mas segura. Yo amarro mi moto a un poste con ella y aseguro el candado al cuadro de la moto, puedo dormir tranquilo.
