Great lantern…good value
Purchased these as teacher appreciation gifts to go along with a “Light” theme. These are great in that they can either use two or four batteries. I put two batteries in each of all 40 lanterns and they all worked well and were bright. I left them lit up on display for four hours and they were bright and still going strong when recipients retrieved them. Highly recommend!

Good for power outages
Bought this for a 90 year old. Just one Easy button to push to turn on. Light weight. Not heavy to carry. Large base will not tip over. The (frosted )light is perfect not so bright that it hurts your eyes. While giving off a good light. Bought 2 of them for my grandmother and she likes them. The red case makes them easy to find. Perfect for power outages !

Great Emergency Lights (Use Alkaline Batteries)
I've run three tests with 2x Eneloop Rechargable, 2x Energizer Lithium, and 2x Alkaline. These lights have impressive runtimes! You get double the runtime stated below when using 4x batteries. Around 1.25V these lights become night lights, useful for blackout emergency conditions only. This makes Eneloops not ideal as they start at 1.3V and drop to 1.2 pretty quick. Energizer Lithium gives you the bightest light initially when compared to an Alkaline battery but after eight hours the Alkaline is brighter and still going strong. The Lithium is nearly depleted at this point of the test and will not act as a useful night light. Alkaline is the best bang for buck in these simple unregulated lights. I plan to put four in each unit and keep them for the next blackout in Texas (insert joke here ????)

Bang for your buck.
Hard to beat the price of this and the fact that it can either use two or four batteries - depending on what you have on hand - is a definite bonus! My only negative is what others have said. It is bright and kinda blinds you if you hold it like you would with a traditional lantern. This is due to the fact it shines brightly in all directions. I feel this is best served if your power goes out and you're using it on a table to light the entire room. It will brighten a room very nicely. This simple con (if you can call it that) would not pursuade me from buying this again. For the price and utility of battery choices, I wound definitely buy this again. It's a steal!

I was initially disappointed in size
Super light weight, very cheaply made but for cost I get it. Very bright, works on 2 or 4 batteries. Can use one side ir both. Pretty convenient, best for sitting or hanging not for rugged anything, great for emergency or camping, I'd say with a good drop or fall it will break though

I am very pleased with this lantern. The long life ( 100 hours on 4 AA batteries) was the main reason I ordered it. I have other emergency LED lights but they don’t last as long The light is very strong / bright but diffused so even close to your face it’s not a problem. The 360 degree light is also very useful for illuminating a room. The handle is well handy ! The broad base makes it very stable if put on a surface. It’s hard plastic and may be an issue if dropped on a hard surface like concrete or tiles but within my home this is not concerning me. The light does get dimmer after a number of hours of use but still very strong. This I find happens with all LED battery powered lamps. It will operate on just 2 batteries. It has a capacity for 4 which means it can last longer but it’s good that 2 is enough. It’s just one setting. No strobe/SOS/red light setting. That’s fine. I like that it’s simple. I have other lamps that have those options if needed. I wanted a lot of light and this delivers. So pleased I bought 2 more. I paid $15 for each and notice the price has gone up now. It’s plastic with LED bulbs. It should not cost a lot. Way over priced now but hopefully the price gets reduced

Cheaply made
While this light gives off a good amount of light it will work with 2 batteries or 4 batteries and it is unclear why anyone would put 4 batteries in since there is no difference in brightness or features. The product I received was defective. It lights up when you put batteries in but the on/off switch is broken and will not shut off. Since it does technically light up I just pull the batteries out of it when it’s not needed. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

Very dim light, does last a long time,
but seeing as it barely lights up a small (4x5) room, not sure what use as a camping light it would be. Seems to also drain batteries faster than stated(Although I am using Duracell rechargeable AA's not alkaline so that may make the difference) Sadly, would not suggest anyone buy this unless you simply need a dot of light to guide yourself back to camp. Honestly when held chest height, does not even light up your feet.

Great
Very lightweight. I got it in case there are power outages and it lit up pretty bright. You can use 2 or 4 batteries. I highly recommend this flashlight /lantern. Amazing product and even better price.

Almost perfect
Works well on 2 and 4 AA batteries. This solves the power outage problem for me if it arises. The only thing I would change is the Color could be warmer, but those types are way more expensive currently. Lights up a small room easily. Way better than rechargeable because you won’t always know when the outage is coming. AA batteries are easy to find.
