Very Poor Production Quality - Had to Fix Before It Could be Used
I understand that this is an economy lantern, however I still expected it to be assembled correctly from the factory and in a condition that's useable. It appears that the frame was welded together in a hurry as the metal of the frame is tilted. (This isn't from being bent in shipping, you can literally see where it was spot welded together like this.) Due to this oversite, the handle runs very close to rubbing up against the glass and cracking it when it swivels down. Aside from this defect, the handle itself and vent retaining tabs had issues that had to be addressed before use. The middle bend of the handle was not centered, which caused the handle originally to press right into the side of the fragile glass globe. Had to bend it to shape and cut off the excess material. The vent tabs where also bent out of shape, making them incapable of retaining the vent. Had to bend those to shape too. Bottom line: If you want a lantern that you don't have to spend an hour fixing before you can even use it, I suggest you spend the extra $10 and buy a Coleman.

Nice little guy
Did as it is intentes to do. Since it's only one mantle it won't be as bright as two, but it's bright enough to I'd say a good 7feet to 10ft radius of brightness. Set these kind of lanterns on a latern hanger in the middle and place them roughly 10ft apart to get evenly distributed light, like street lights :) worked like a charm for me.

This is probably the best/cheapest/lightest lamp-heater you'll be able to buy for camping
I've been looking all over for a propane camping heater. They are massive and expensive and super dangerous for my text. Then I realized these lamps are pretty much the same thing. It works great, warm, safer than these other ridiculous "heaters", small and light. It doesn't fit a mini canister. You have to use it on the coleman cannisters. That bummed me out. But it's still dope.

Excellent lantern
All great, will get to that in a minute, I did not realize this particular model did not come with a base. Not a deal breaker, my bad in fact for not reading the details or presuming by just a picture. It is all in the details....read them. Anyway back to the great part, it came securely packaged, easy to assemble what little there was to assemble, tied on the mantle, screwed in a bottle and fired it up. I have a coleman as well and they both work fine, but I like this one because of the fully adjustable gas knob. The coleman has a series of clicks, but works fine too, just not quite as adjustable. This one has a bit larger glass area and is very easy to light from the vent in the bottom plate inside the head. The handle is solid as compared to the coleman being a chain, although the chain is longer, this handle is large enough to where you do not feel it being too hot when you handle or move with it lit. Mantles are easy to obtain, use the coleman 21, just tie it on and snip the extra tie material. good to go. I do like both but from a price point this one is it.

Does the job but fragile and can be tough to light
I bought the single and the double mantle versions of this product and my single is brighter than the double for some reason. The trick with these is lighting it through the tiny hole without the match going out. Had luck with a bic lighter instead. The irony is that you essentially need another light in order to see the hole location so that you can turn this light on. Again, a bic lighter works nice because it provides enough light to see the hole. Mantles are ridiculously fragile so plan to buy a load of extras or you will be out of luck in the middle of the woods. I also bought an LED version by another maker and it's so much easier. You can turn that one on with your eyes closed. I feel like this propane style is for old timers.

Fantastic Camping Lantern
I thought ....why burn twice as much propane by having two mantels using gas when 1 really is PLENTY of light,PLUS the mantels are getting up there in price and why waste 3 or 4$ and bump the lantern after 1 use to watch the ash mantels fall off. Now they last twice as long since this only needs 1 at a time....I save PROPANE and it gives off PLENTY of light ! I could NOT find a single mantel in any local store and of course....AMAZON comes through ...AGAIN ...and since I bought $25 worth of stuff on this order,SHIPPING WAS FREE ! I must admit....The FREE shipping (for MOST orders over$25)is one of the things that keep ME coming back again and again. I just LOVE that FREE SHIPPING rather than paying as much as double at another online store or eBay and then getting GOUGED on overpriced shipping and fake "HANDLING FEES".....AMAZON is THE BEST !!

Winner Over Coleman
Better alternative than the Coleman single mantle offerings. Brass not plastic and fully adjustable output. Not overpriced either

Good product, works good
Good product , works good , lights up the campsite ok . Doesnt come with a stand to hold the cylinder as shown in the picture that or it was missing . Think the coleman would have been a better buy for $10 more .

Cracked globe
The item is as described however the globe/glass has a crack. The lantern functions but I'm afraid the globe/glass will break. I'd just like the globe replaced not the whole lantern. Replacing the whole unit becomes a real problem.
