I'm in an area with lots of mosquitos. This hasn't zapped a single mosquito yet.
This is a review of Himalayan Glow 2 in 1 Electric Bug Zapper Light Bulb, Outdoor Camping Lantern Rechargeable with Mosquito Zapper, Portable Waterproof, 1000 Volts We are renting an apartment in Florida for a few months and the area in which we are renting has a ridiculous amount of mosquito population right now. We've talked to several people in our neighborhood and they've all said that the mosquitos are crazy bad this year. What better place to test a Mosquito zapper. I connected this to a USB charger and fully charged it as soon as I took it out of the box. It's a really cool looking bug zapper and I had high hopes that it would capture any mosquitos that managed to make it into our apartment. The device has a micro USB charging port on it and a clever, retractable hanging hook on the base which would make this handy if you were in a tent, or simply wanted to hang this somewhere rather than have it sit on a table or windowsill. It will work either plugged into a USB power source or from it's internal rechargeable battery. You can have the normal LED and the bug light on simultaneously or separately. Every day I get multiple mosquito bites on my legs, arms, wrists, neck, face... everywhere. So I set this zapper on a table in the middle of the room and turned it on. What's cool is that this has a regular LED light in it but also a special group of LEDs inside of a specific wavelength that is supposed to be attractive to mosquitos. All I can tell you is that the Florida mosquitos must like a different wavelength light because it has not zapped a single mosquito yet in the course of a week. I've also placed this outside on the patio and left it on for several hours. Nada, nothing. Not a single bug of any kind killed. The light isn't designed well either. In spite of its attractive looks the light and zapper buttons are on the bottom of the unit. If the unit is placed on a wire mesh patio table, or any metal topped table for that matter, it activates the lights. I haven't exactly figured out why that happens but a simple solution would be for the manufacturer to put some small bumps (legs) around the perimeter of the base to raise it up a small amount to prevent the buttons from hitting the surface it is belng placed on. To sum up, it's a very cool looking mosquito zapper but unfortunately in my mosquito infested environment it has failed to kill a single mosquito. I will update my review if anything changes and if I can stop scratching my mosquito bites long enough to actually be able to type an update.

Good lantern, bad zapper
I have an electric fly/mosquito zapper in the garage right next to the garbage cart which seems to take care of most of the flies/bugs. However, there are still some flies/bugs that sneakily fly into my kitchen/living room. So I got this WBM Home Himalayan Glow 2 in 1 Electric Bug Zapper Light Bulb Outdoor Camping Lantern. As a Lantern, it's very good. Once it is fully charged, it can last on night long. And it's very bright. It's also nice that there is a build-in hanger. It's very convenient for camping. But regarding the zapper function, I don't see any effects. It can't kill any flies. This device can't work as a lantern and zapper at the same time. It has to be either one or the other. I am curious why the video shows it turns on both the light and zapper. I think there might be two batteries in this device, one for the lantern and one for the zapper. Because I turned on the zapper on day. It died within 3 hours. I thought it was out of power. But I accidently turned on the light button and there was enough juice to turn that on. I will give it three stars as the zapper sucks!

Strange Set-Up, Decent Product
So it's the middle of winter, so I'm having a hard time knowing exacty how the zapper portion works (no bugs all around...), but I've tested this in a few different ways. One of which was to turn on both the light and the zapper and see how long it lasted. Without any intervention or bugs dying, the light and zapper lasted about 4 hours. If you're camping, this is probably sufficient for late night board games and sitting around a fire together. The issues I found were that the buttons for the light and zapper are on the bottom of the light. If you want this sitting on your table, etc, depending on what its sitting on, it may turn on or off every time it shifts, you set it down, etc. It was OFTEN turned on by me on accident just setting it to the side. Or turned off when I turned it on and then set it down. I had to play this game of pick-up-set-down repeatedly as it would turn on/off the light/zapper whenever I didn't want it. It's a minor annoyance you can adjust to, but it's illogical in its placement. If you're going to (unlikely) hang it, you should not run into this issue as suddenly the buttons would be hanging upside down pointing at the sky. Overall, a decent product, but not one that I see meeting most of your needs if you truly need this on and around. If you're okay with a simple short-term set-up, it may work just fine. If I find that the zapper doesn't work well, I'll come back and adjust the review later. Putting it out during the Winter made it harder to get to that function so far...

It works!
Works great in a tent at night when all types of bugs find their way inside and buzzing along the top of the tent. My previous solution was to simply use my battery-powered vacuum and suck them up. Most of the time I found myself chasing the bugs inside the tent to remove them that way. With this device, I simply hang it in the middle of the tent and the bugs find their way to it! Perfect! For my needs!!!
