It’s one of the smaller kind

First: it does its job - my bike is still with me. But locking it (with the actual lock - not the cord) is kind of hustle as it barely fits around bigger and therefore safer poles). I might consider a new and bigger one. But for locking it in safe areas it is sufficient for me to use the cord in addition. The mounting process was uncomplicated. Though it does make a noise while driving on gravel or more uneven surfaces. The cord is also loosening while driving. Therefore I just put it in my backpack.

Strong but Difficult to Lock

The quality of the lock is very good and the weight of it and my past experience with this brand give me confidence in its ability to protect my property. Unfortunately using the key is a bit tricky and a hassle. At first I thought it was "operator error" on my part but over time, it seems there really is a pattern that needs to be followed to engage the lock once it has been opened. It shouldn't be this hard. It takes multiple attempts and I have to be very thoughtful about how I remove the key, position the lock and then engage the locking mechanism every time I use it. Not sure I would buy this version again if I knew this in advance.

Solid and secure, but a bit hard to remove the key sometimes

I think this are one of the most secure options if you are looking for a lock for your bike. However, sometimes it is hard to remove the key from the lock. That’s the only reason I gave it 3 stars (it’s a pretty basic thing). But it is extremely reliable

seems to do the job

I bought this lock due to brand name. I cannot attest to its resistance for bending/breaking. When putting my bicycle next to a bicycle rack, the cable is long enough that I can pass it through both bicycle wheels and attach the U-lock through them and the frame into the rack.

Decent, sturdy lock

I was wary of buying this because of the reviews claiming the lock was fiddly to use with the key. I went ahead anyway, and I'm glad I did because it's a really decent lock for the price. Lots of people have said that it's too small, but I've had no trouble at all fastening the lock around a rooted post and my back wheel so it's plenty secure, and it's a standard sized bike. The fact that the base of the lock actually detaches makes it easier in my opinion, though this is something others seemed to dislike. The only reason I've gone for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I *did* have an incident with the key not working very recently, which is what I assume others were talking about, but I was able to see exactly what the issue was and know how to prevent it in the future (hopefully!). Basically, the best way I can think to describe it is that the channel of the lock is made up of segments that, when you put the key in, all twist at the same time. However, when you pull the key out after locking, if you slightly twist the key at all it twists those top few channels, but not the lowest ones. As a result, it's then hard to put the key back in, because the channel is no longer straight (I hope this makes sense!) But the fix is literally just to put the key in as far as you can get it, then twist gently until the channels re-align and you can push the key in all the way. I know that sounds complicated, but it's really not, and if you just experiment with the lock when you receive it, you'll see what I mean and how easy it is to resolve. If I end up having this issue again and it's worse, I'll edit my review, but for now I would say don't let the other reviews put you off. It's a good size, sturdy, and not tricky to use once you suss it out. Also, I noted that some reviews criticised the lock because their bike got nicked, but based on the photos they had secured the bike with the provided cable and then closed the cable with the heavy-duty lock. This is NOT how you lock a bike! Never have the wire cable as your primary source of security – secure the back wheel of the bike to a rooted post and, if you want the extra security, you can loop the wire through your front wheel.

A bit too small and a lot of rattle

Great lock but too small to go around standard sized bike racks as well as the bike frame. There is also a lot of rattling from the mount.

Good make, good lock.

Feel secure, the longer sides let me secure multiple bikes together with multiple cables and ulocks easier. The Krypto name is a good deterrent in itself so I use two of these with two cables and a couple of padlocks to secure 4 bikes together. Yes the locks and the cables are worth more than some of our bikes now but that’s the game. I also use this longer one to secure my tow bar bike carrier to the chassis instead of the manufacturer’s plastic looking lock. Pretty straight forward to use, both prongs for straight in to lock either way around so no twisting after one is cut, silver standard lock which means something to someone I guess, I want all the locks to be thief proof. The key for this is in the middle underneath and so uses a shorter key than normal. Happy so far, used in bad weather and hot weather and the lock still works fine.

Good quality lock

Good lock, it can be a little bit fiddly sometimes when you try to turn the key all the way to lock just make sure you have the two ends of the curved bar all the way into the straight one and it will lock. I still have a bike and it's been left locked up in many places and left so I'd say the lock is doing its job well
