Good product but, not for me.

The quality of the hooks are amazing and for the price I'll say it is worth it. After, extensive research looking for the right set of Tunisian crochet hooks, I opted to give the Knitters Pride bamboo hooks a shot. As I am teaching myself how to Tunisian crochet, I want to have the best quality hooks. Now, I personally do not like wooden/bamboo needles. All of my knitting needles & crochet hooks are metal/aluminum. The yarn glides off the needle/hook to smoothly and without using so much effort. Now, back to the Knitters Pride bamboo hooks, after watching videos and reading blogs, most recommended the Knitters Pride hooks. I like to go for quality and save a couple $'s. I TRIED really hard to find Interchangeble metal hooks at a good price but.... of course I did not find any. So, the Knitter Pride hooks felt great, super smooth but the yarns I used (I tried with 100% acrylic + 100% Superwash Merino) was not gliding off the hook smoothly. I had to use so much force, more like a pull + tug, to push the hook through the loop. Buying these hooks will come down to your own personal preference but I would recommend giving it a shot because of the price (I paid $46). Sadly, I will be returning the hooks.

Sometimes You Just Need Bamboo Hooks!

I knit, crochet, Tunisian crochet, and weave. I have learned over the years that you need a variety of implements in different materials to work with different yarns. I usually knit with wool and use metal needles to reduce drag, although with smooth or slick yarns like silk blends I prefer wood or bamboo needles. Similarly, I crochet with metal or plastic when I'm using acrylic, cotton, or wool yarn. But since I started doing Tunisian crochet, I've been using slippery yarns like bamboo (rayon), ribbon yarn, and silk. With a slippery yarn you need a hook that creates a little more drag for control and these hooks are exactly right! They are a perfect addition to my crochet hook collection and as a bonus, the cables work with my interchangeable knitting needles, so I can borrow from either set to get the right length for whatever project I'm working on. They are excellent quality and have nicely tapered tips. Highly recommended!

These are okay

This set is just ok for me. It must just be me but I find wooden hooks give yarn a drag on the hook. I like the set enough to keep it but I do wish it came with more of a variety of cord sizes.

Great Hooks! Not so great labeling.

I have had these hooks for a little over 2 months now. I’ve used my K/6.5mm hook more frequently than the others. I am half way through a blanket I’m making for my queen sized bed. I’ve used the J/6mm as well to make a runner for my daughter’s dresser. The hooks themselves have been awesome! They rarely ever split my yarn. I use worsted weight 4 medium acrylic yarn. I have not had any yarn snags whatsoever with my cords. No breakage or loosening with the stoppers or extenders. My only complaint for these hooks is that after some time, the constant rubbing of the yarn on the hooks make the label/size on them rub off. I wish they were engraved or stamped onto the actual metal part of the hook. My only thought to solve this is to swipe some clear coating over my other hooks. Or use a gauge tool with the holes to measure your hooks. My only complaint for the chords is I wish they twirled/rotated as you crochet long pieces (ex: blankets) along so the fabric doesn’t want to rotate your hook as it follows down the chord. I find myself having to make a little effort to keep my hook from rotating away from me. I have to adjust my chord every so often at the end to realign my fabric and hook to continue my stitches. This isn’t a deal breaker for me but just a little fyi in case it is for you. But overall, great sturdy, lightweight hooks and tough, flexible chords. I would repurchase and actually want more sizes! I recommended them!

Great set for beginners

I have been using this set for a few months now. This is a great set for beginners in tunisian crochet. I really like it. Pros Easy to assemble all the cords and connectors. They can be put together for extra big or long projects. Although it is not luxurious its nice to have a pouch to keep all the hooks cords etc.organized and its not plastic. The bamboo hooks are extremely like weight and smooth. The tip is actually very helpful for getting in and out of those stitches. Cons The hook sizes do rub off especially if your hands are moisturized in any way. I plan to use my label maker to help with this. Sizes should be engraved not printed. The cords do not swivel. When working big projects, I sometimes have to grab the end of the cord and pull it straight. Other than that the cord is fine. Overall, this is a fantastic set and I plan to get a lot of use from it. If you are new to tunisian crochet I think this is a great set to learn with. You won't be disappointed.

GREAT STARTER SET

I am just beginning my journey intoTunisian crochet. This set makes it so comfortable and easier to master. I highly recommend it. It is constructed of smooth bamboo so it’s gentle on the hands. I love it and I know you will as well.

Nice set, good price

I do a lot of regular crochet in addition to Tunisian crochet, and this set is handy for both. I prefer wood or bamboo hooks to all other materials. These are nice and smooth, easy to handle, comfortable to hold. I also prefer this "natural" wood color, rather than darker, stained woods, because the dark ones make it hard to work with medium-to-dark colors. These work with all colors, and minimize eye strain. I bought a 2nd set because I often have multiple projects on the go.

Very fragile ... but nice product!

Item arrived with one hook broken however, I contacted the seller and they sent me another hook. For some reason this item remains as delivery status pending? So strange as I received it very quick! The hooks are very nice but seem very fragile especially the smaller sized ones. I like the case and overall very happy with my purchase for the price paid. Happy Tunisian crocheting!

Perfect hooks they work amazingly, the only issue is that I would expect to have also 7mm hook. But overall I am very happy.

Excellent affordable option

Ultra smooth hooks that have been really easy for me to use while working up yarn. Cords are soft and flexible making them easy to use. The gold coated hook joints between the hooks and cords are also very smooth so no snagging happening at all. Overall, I'm really glad I bought this set of hooks!

Good product

High quality product. I love smooth finishing of the hooks. Only problem is inner tip of the hooks is too pointy. It catches yarn shreds or extra loop if I am not careful.
