Worked
Decent repair kit for larger diameter tent pole. Find a small piece of thin metal rod that will slide into center of pole cut a small groove into it and tie a piece of fishing string to it. Makes pulling cord back through poles much easier.

Not Suitable For Most Modern Tents
The problem with these is that they're far stiffer than most modern fiberglass tent poles. It's not even close. They barely have any flex to them at all -- if you really put stress on them, they'll start to bend, but with a lot of tiny cracking noises that are a bad sign. And the connectors are a long way from indestructible. Frankly, I wouldn't trust them not to snap. The tent pictured on the packaging and in the image on Amazon . . . no. There's absolutely no way. That tent needs a much more pliable sort of fiberglass rod. These are more like the wooden vertical tent poles of older-style peaked tents. We're keeping them because we think they can be useful, and returning them is a pain, but they're simply not the sort of thing they're sold as. We'll buy actual flexible tent poles somewhere else.

Sturdy and Wicked Long
I'm using this for a flag pole on my recumbent trike. Very sturdy pole and just what I wanted. The last pole is hard to thread, but if you have a clothespin it's simple. Thread all of the poles except the last one. Stretch the shock cord enough so that you have plenty of cord to thread though the last pole and clip a clothespin on the shock cord at the end of the 3rd pole. That will take the tension off the remaining shock cord so it is easily threaded. The wire is totally useless. It would have been nice to have some instructions that at least told you what the little metal pieces are. They were too loose if I put them on the ends of each section of pole. These are the reason I took one star off for "easy to assemble".

Easy DIY project; to shorten, use a hacksaw
I needed a replacement of exactly 96" which is about 10" shorter than this Coghlan's product, so I took a hacksaw as per another reviewer's advice, and made a clean cut. Just don't breathe the dust. Pushing the elastic cord through is the slowest part of the job. It took a flashlight, gripped in my teeth (a headlamp would have been a better idea), to feed the cord into the hole, but once in, the cord will more-or-less snake through, but it takes some patience. The supplied wire is quite thick, so you can't do the expected thing and hook the end of the cord to the wire, but must simply stuff the wire through along with the cord. Ultimately, you pull the wire out the other end, and presto! The cord appears as well. I now have a sturdy replacement for the thinner fiberglass tent pole that came with my original tent (actually a hunter's ground blind). It's thicker, and won't bend as easily, but should last longer; a blind tends to be left in one spot for weeks or even months, and the weight of rain or snow can break the rods, so sturdy is good. As a side bar, originally I tried an aluminum repair kit, and the rods looked good and replaced the broken fiber glass rods from the original tent, but they bent and cracked over time. Useless. Fiberglass is the best. Just be careful and use a hacksaw as mentioned above, and you won't have a problem with splitting and fibers stuck in your fingers.

Works for me
the guide wire was too thick for the poles...made it tough to pull the elastic through. No directions, had to google help. Didn't have a thickness of the poles...they are much thinner than my poles...hope it works, just used one. we shall see.

Wrong size
I could not use it. The poles did not fit the intended application.

Good for service parts.
It worked really well for rebuilding an existing pole with a broken piece. Did require trimming with a saw but that was expected. Put a 100 dollar tent back into service with tons fo extra parts for the next time for cheap.

Pole sections are longer than many tents'
I needed one of the silver cap pieces to replace a lost part from a borrowed tent. This worked perfectly. I was going to include the other spares when I returned the tent to my friend (since my tent uses a different diameter pole), but found that the extra fiberglass pole sections are unusually long. Not only are they longer than the ones used in Coleman tents, they wouldn't even fit in the bag diagonally. Definitely measure your tent pole sections before ordering.

great for repairing my Coleman tent poles
I ordered these to replace 3 damaged pole sections on my Coleman tent. I knew from another reviewer's description that they would be a touch long for what I needed, but I was able to cut a few inches off the end and sand it down, and they worked perfectly. The trickiest part was definitely getting the elastic chord restrung through the older sections of existing tent pole...the wire provided was far too thick but I was able to use a thinner piece of wire that I happened to have kicking around. Good value, great save for my tent, and I'm sure they will last many years.

Yep a Tent Pole
"A little short", that's what the wife said. Added an extension now I can pitch a tent.

Saves your tent. Hard to find exact replacement full poles.
I have a Coleman BP Bristol tent. A storm cracked a segment of the gray pole over one of the "window" (not the central black main poles, they have a bigger diameter). Could not find replament poles. I found this. You remove the old segment. You cut these same length as the segment to replace and polish the cut end a little. Then you manage to reinsert old shock cord or use a new shock cord. Et Voilà ! For a few bucks, you have saved a whole tent.

Minor issue (quality control?) but works for my use.
4 poles that connect together, with a thin bungee cord down the center. One of the poles had something stuck in the center in at least 2 places, so I could not thread the bungee through it. The poles do not fit snugly together - I just used some Gorilla Tape wrapped around the connection. My use: as a flag pole for my trike.
