works!

It does fold down to a compact size, and it does pop that cork right out. No problems there. However, even after watching the video several times, I just can't get the hang of the seal cutter. Seems too "big"? I dunno. When it works, it really works. When it doesn't it just makes jagged cuts or no cuts at all. Can't figure that one out. If I could, I'd give this five stars.

Opener is great but cutter doesn’t work

The compact design is great. The easy opening and cork removal is great also. The embedded foil cutter doesn’t work, many people have tried and failed…

Learning curve ahead

This compact tool is well made and substantial in weight. The action is smooth and effective 97% of the time. The 3% rate is due to operator error which requires more effort to complete the job. The cutter blade takes some time to understand how to use it correctly but it works fine. The corkscrew action is easier to understand but learning how to use it properly is the thing. The tool must be positioned correctly on the bottle neck before closing it and applying the proper amount of hand gripping pressure. Doing this correctly centers the corkscrew over the cork before applying the uncorking lever. When I don’t do that correctly I have to repeat and the extra lever (corkscrew) attempts lead to a damaged cork. I think I’m passed the initial learning phase now but my guests are not so I always have keep an eye on them.

Disappointed

To begin with, I am unable to figure out how the foil cutter works. I intend to ask the seller however, for now, it remains a mystery. The actual corkscrew works well in that it removes the cork but you need some physical strength to accomplish this feat. I am a woman. Not a wimp, however, not a man. I don't consider myself particularly strong nor weak. However, manipulating this device to get the cork out requires some serious ability. More than I bargained for. It's definitely not the "go to" corkscrew I bought it to be.

Love all but the foil cutter

I love the wine opener. And you just make the same movements and the cork comes out. But the four stars cause the foil cutter doesn’t work very well. So that’s why the 4 stars.

Love ot

A must have for wine lovers. I thought this was pretty gimmicky at first. I’ve had several bottle openers varying from electric to traditional manual but this thing works like a charm every time. Easy to use and quick!

The Best Around

Love how how easy this is to use and it's made of solid enough material . Makes a great gift for a wine lover . Much better than the Rabbit competition .

Compact design and easy to operate

Overall it is a good design with folding lever that makes it compact for storage. Similiar lever effort compare to Rabbit opener, and pin insertion is mostly accurate and centered. The only thing I take a star off is about the integrated foil cutter. It is too shallow and only able to cut above the rim ring, but not under the ring. Also it is a bit unease to use it; I will suggest use a separate cutter instead.

As expected great quality abs easy to use.

Great quality produced as expected by anything from Joseph & Joseph. Very practical, compact and easy to use. So why but a 5 star rating, we’ll only because the foil cutter isn’t as good or easy to use. Other than that it’s great.

The best corkscrew ever!

I have been using this corkscrew for some weeks now and it is far superior to any i have used before. Unlike many, it requires little effort to remove the cork from the bottle and, unlike my previous corkscrew, it also ejects the cork effortlessly. My previous corkscrew occupied a considerable space on its stand where the Joseph Joseph folds into a compact unit which fits neatly into a corner of a drawer. My only criticism would be the efficiency of the foil cutter but i am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and put this down to my poor technique. An excellent design!

Works well

Ordered from Amazon but informed the package was probably lost so got a refund. Bought one locally and glad I didn't change my mind to get something different. This replaced a rabbit corkscrew, which I've had two of. Both of these failed in the same way with one of the "ear" handles snapping from the pivot point. The Joseph Joseph one is much easier to use. I always thought the bottle was going to slip with the rabbit but how this one is held feels much more secure as you hold around the neck of the bottle. The collapsible design is much more compact and fits nicely in the kitchen drawer.
