Fantastic product!
I have been using Kamado Joe XL and other quality competitors and no matter what I did - speed up the cook, cover in foil early, etc the food turned out far too smokey for my or my family's tastes. This product is by far my favorite with low smoke flavor, no sparks, no heavy ash. I absolutely recommend for BGE/Kamado Joe owners who want a quality product that will dial down the smoke intensity or let you add your own via wood chunks of your choosing!

My honest opinion.
This is very solid charcoal. I think they could make this product fly off the shelves with a few adjustments. It's by far the best for heat. It gets very hot. It's great for lots of different foods (steaks, chicken). You won't see this at Walmart, or Food Lion. I know that some stores have Lump Charcoal, but it's not typically as hot as this. If you were going to indirect heat... You would only have to add some more after the 3-hour point. This stuff burns for a long time. The problem with this product isn't the quality, it's the price. I would say the description might be a bit misleading. "35 Pounds" You would expect to get a few more grills out of it. I got about 5 grills, maybe could've done 6. I didn't overuse it. for $40 / 5 = $9 per grill. Come down to about $25. Make customers do a subscription every month for $50 for 2 bags. Another alternative would be making some of the lumps not as big. a few pieces were bigger than milk containers..

Amazing Charcoal Lumps, Low cost, better than expensive brands
Lets be honest, when using a charcoal grill, we need fuel that lasts, can be reused when not fully spent and allows for the maximum temps at the longest intervals. Jealous Devil lump does all of that. This coal burns super hot, lasts longer than other lumps, and costs much less than the vast majority of competitors. What I also loved was that the lumps were not tiny. The lumps were substantial. Additionally, the lumps did not spark or cause any issues, they just burned efficiently, effectively and did not add additional flavors not wanted from a cook. The lump allowed the wood chunks to do their job while they did theirs. I highly recommend this lump to any coal burning griller. Dont be fooled by higher cost lump. This stuff is amazing at a fraction of the cost of others. Just look at YouTube for evaluations to see how this coal stacks up.

Works GREAT!
After reading reviews 'bout Jealous Devil charcoal I was apprehensive. Everything from crushed to dust charcoal to poor performance plagued some reviews. With an endorsement from Smoke Trails, of You Tube, I decided to pull the trigger 'n try the stuff. It turned out Amazon had been doin' its homework 'n listening. The boxed LARGE bag which arrived a day after ordering it was: intact, well wrapped, and filled with large chunks of charcoal. Look at the picture... I wear a size 10 glove. The chunks of charcoal are generous. It's true the charcoal doesn't spark 'n flash like other brands. Large chunks of charcoal take longer to ignite but, they do burn predictably longer. There was no chemical smell coming from the charcoal as other reviews mentioned. As for rocks found in the charcoal mixture... I've found rocks in ALL lump charcoal I've bought. Briquettes are the ONLY product free of rocks.

Sizes inconsistent between bags/orders
I decided to try this brand after the hype I saw on Youtube and the reviews on amazon. Since December, I went through a 20 lb bag, and another 35 lb bag is almost empty. Pictured is the 20 lb bag when I opened it. I have used their binchotan recently as well. But this review is for the lump charcoal. I have to say this charcoal burns clean and hot. I do see some sparking but not enough to be of concern. Shipping and arrival was quick and excellent. Compared to 4 other "premium" lump charcoal brands I've used, I'd say the clean and hot burn ranks at or near the top. But I did not notice significantly longer burn as some of the others have claimed. My only gripe is about the size. The 20 lb bag I received were full of large pieces (say, larger than golf balls). The 35 lb bag I opened had many tiny pieces (smaller than nickels), along with the monster pieces. The smaller pieces fall through the grate, not only wasteful as they don't generate heat but also necessitates more frequent cleaning because the pile can choke the air flow. It was a little disappointing to see the inconsistency between the two bags. I have a few more unopened 35 lb bags. I will update if the rest are more consistent with the first bag. If not, I'd buy the 20 lb bags again, but I see that the prices have gone up for the 20 pounders.

Bag was filled with large pieces that were easily lit and long burning. Able to use 3 times before adding more charcoal.

Mixed bag
Not a whole lot of consistency , whole lotta huge and small pieces, a few of just the right size. Burned nice, just a bit of curfluffle. Won’t buy again. Delivered in box haphazardly, bag leaking.
