Better than the original one
Nice easy to read gauge, not sure how the lense is going to stand up to the smoke and UV rays...time will tell. I got this to replace the original gauges on my Oklahoma Joe smoker and it's a better quality gauge.

Bought 2 of these, for two different grills
First one I bought was installed on the secondary "bung" on an Oklahoma Joe's Highland. EASY install, and highly useful at maintaining temps. Second one was installed on an Oklahoma Joe's Hitch portable grill. This one was slightly harder, since there is no bung. I had to drill the hold, tap it to thread this in. But still not too hard. It does take make that grill MUCH easier to use. Takes a "decent" grill to an awesome grill.

Keep it dry
WHAT I LIKED - easy to read, large dial and the glow in the dark was a surprise bonus (see picture). Decently easy to install- I used a 3/4" bit and wallowed out the hole enough to perfectly fit the 13/16 probe screw. WHAT I DISLIKED- the gauge accuracy was reading high by 5-10 degrees (compared using fireboard pit probes).... but my greatest complaint is the first time it rained on the gauge, the dial fogged so bad it was difficult to read the dial. I drilled a TINY hole in the bottom to see if it helps, but I can't give it more than 4 stars, and almost gave it 3 except you won't get a better gauge for the price.

Alright to use as a guide to temp but it is not very accurate around 15° up or down from target temp

Bought it for my PK grill, good choice.
I bought this to install on my PK original grill. It's 1/2 pipe thread. After drilling and tapping, it works great. The color bands help but the numbers can be hard to read if I am trying to really control the heat. It's accurate checking against a thermal probe and a bit more convenient for short cooks. Plus is being pipe thread, I can take it out for large cuts of meat to get a bit more room and simply stick in a 1/2" pipe thread plug in a few seconds.

Perfect Add On For Smoky Joe Smoker
Like everything about it. When I purchased my Smokey Joe Smoker it already had one. I purchased this one to use as a backup to the one that came with the Smoker. The Smoker already had a place to add one for a backup so i just installed it there. Seems to be working fine and both seem to be running the same Temp...

Nice large dial, easy to read. Easy to install
I live in Texas, so I was reluctant to buy something that said 'Oklahoma" on it, but I'm not sorry I did. Got a "New Braunfels" (that's the name of a Texas town and this smoker brand) smoker from a junk pile that some fool had tossed it into as the metal on it was still quite solid. Was missing the temp gauge so I needed a new one and didn't want to spend big $$$ on one. Researched several and read reviews and settled on this. I was quite pleased at the price, though it has gone up quite a bit since I bought it. It fit snug into the smoker after I wallered out the hole just a tiny bit and screwed on the nut. I was quite pleased at the size of this gauge and it is easy to read even in low light. That was a big plus as I often start making BBQ in the wee hours of the morning before the roosters, donut making man and the sun get up. It has the marks telling you the temps for Smoke, BBQ (which are basically the same thing, maybe that's just weird Oklahoma speak), grilling (which is not BBQ!) and sear. Not that I need this info, but probably helpful to rookies. The gauge seems to be pretty accurate and that's what's most important. My only complaint is that the other day I noticed condensation inside the gauge in the center. It didn't block any of the actual temp marks, so that's OK I guess. Maybe that's to be expected, though I've never noticed it on the cheap gauge that is on my crappy Walmart smoker. It seems to clear out , so I'm not gonna take off a star about it.
