Avid China collector
I have several sets of China dishes that I inherited and have expanded my collection over the years. These are my favorite storage containers: - they are square and fit shelving better than round ones. You can stack on top of the item if it is not heavy. -provide adequate protection if stored on secure shelving -have a window to see which dishes (style, size) are in the container Lastly, you can label the outside to give further clarification as to the contents. I may know what is there but labels (and window) helps family how to help. Enjoy!

Perfect fits for my Christmas dishes
My Christmas dishes were purchased at Target several years ago. They are quite sturdy and would make for great every day dishes except for the Christmas pattern on the rims of the larger plates and the very festive "Eat, Drink, and Be Merry" text along the rims of the dessert plates. Since kitchen storage space is at a premium in our household, I finally decided to solve the problem by ordering plate storage chests. I went with the red and green chests because, like with the boxes I use for Christmas ornaments, I love the festive vibe when I pull them out of storage. The storage chests are the perfect size for my dinner and dessert plates ( ordered one of each size). The dessert plates hit all four walls, but don't push past them. The dinner plate chest has plenty of room around the plates, which is where I'm storing the holiday napkins, table runner, and table cloths. There are 12 felt dividers that come with each storage chest. They are just slightly smaller than my plates, so they're perfect for separating them preventing them from clanging against each other when the chest gets moved around. While the chests do ship folded flat, I feel like they are pretty secure once assembled. I'm not going to be walking a long distance holding this by its handles, but I trust that it's going to protect my plates until next year. And I like that there is a window on them so I don't get them mixed up with my ornament storage chests. Although it's not an issue for me, buyers do need to be aware that these are probably not sturdy enough to stack (not even one chest on another) because the sides are supported by covered cardboard and would likely collapse over time if heavy weight were placed on top of them.

ATTRACTIVE , DURABLE & WELL CONSTRUCTED + THE DISH FELTS, ARE WELL DONE
I USED THESE AS AN ATTRACTIVE & STURDY METHOD OF STORING MY FINEST CHINA, WHICH I RARELY USE, BUT WANT TO ACCESS & USE ON SPECIAL OCCAISIONS, W/OUT HAVE TO DIST OR WASH THEM, AS THEY CONTAIN PRECIOUS METAL & FINE HAND WORK. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Well made item
I ordered 2 of these--one for the dinner plates, one for the bowls, which are 5 3/4" in diameter, no lip. The Christmas and everyday dinner plates fit, as expected, but I used the original corrugated cardboard separators, rather than the very thin felt (?) ones included. I may have to revert to the felt circles when the everyday dishes are stored next Christmas, as they are more bulky. I cut a large square of the shipping box to fit the bottom of each box. The 2nd 12"x12" box is perfect for the bowls and mugs. I cut 2 almost 12"x8" pieces of the shipping box to create 4 compartments, cutting interlocking slits in the middle of each. I also cut a square of cardboard to fit each of the 4 created sections. As fate would have it, I only have 7 Christmas bowls, so I accommodated them one section facing up, one down, etc. In the sections with the up turned bowls I placed cardboard squares as separators, and had perfect clearance for my (only) 4 Christmas mugs, 2 in each section, also separated by diagonal pieces of cardboard. There is vacant space, so more bowls or mugs will fit, if needed. 2 boxes of the same size are a plus. I also ordered the salad plate box, reviewed separately. The red color may stay "cleaner" looking, over time, than the beige. So happy to have the dinnerware organized into 3 containers, rather that the mish-mash of original box sizes!

This isn’t strong on bottom for dinner plates. It needs a sturdy bottom. The spacers are nice.
The bottom of case insert seems thin for 10 plates. I am keeping this and getting some cardboard stock for re-inforcment.

2 Thumbs Up
As per other reviewers, this 10"x10"x8" salad plate/bowl storage box does indeed have an inside measurement of 9"x9" and just shy of the 8" height. This works for me as my Christmas & everyday salad plates are 7 1/2" and 8". The box is sturdy, but I also cut a square of the shipping box to fit the floor of the box and slipped in some corrugated pieces on the sides, just because. Originally, I packed the dishes with the 6" felt(?) separators, then slid a packing air pillow in each corner to minimize shifting. I ended up switching to the corrugated cardboard separators that originally came between the plates, as the included 6" felt circles are very thin and far short of diameter of the plates. The cardboard, of course, made the stack taller, still left plenty of clearance. I ordered the red as opposed to the beige simply as it's darker and maybe won't show smudges as much over time. I also ordered 2 12"x12" dinner plate boxes--one for plates, the other for bowls & mugs. Perfect sizing! Will review there. It's so nice to have these packed in an organized fashion instead of all the mis-matched boxes I did have. Yea!

They're okay.
I bought two different sizes to store my Christmas plates. The salad plate storage was a little snug (red), and the dinner plate storage was a little wider (large white.) These are reminiscent of cheap Walmart storage bins, but serves the purpose I was looking for. I do like that they come with protective felt dividers, but I recommend adding foam protection (which I purchased separately) to help with preventive measures of chipping. My pictures show the round felt, which is included, as well as the foam plate covers, which are not included. I do like the window, so if you have multiple sets of dishes, you know which ones are stored, but to be honest it's not necessary... The red and green colors, and listing the lid pretty much are a good indicators to me of what I've stored.

Love These
I inherited some holiday dishes and needed something to store them in. This size (dessert plate) was on sale so I purchased three. I managed to fit everything into them, other than the dinner plates and cups. I fit 10 lunch plates and 12 fruit nappies in one; 11 dessert plates and 9 soup bowls in one; and about 24 saucers in another one (had to get creative and place some in sideways). They are roomy, very sturdy and easy to move around with the handles. You will need additional felt or foam if you're going to fit extra pieces into them like I did. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Great storage solution
Just what I was looking for for a reasonable price. They work well to store the dinnerware I only use for Christmas, Easter & Thanksgiving. The included liners are small and don't reach the outside rim of the plate, but work fine for me.

Very Useful
We are very satisfied with this product. We are using it to store large charger dishes and eight of them fit nicely. The item is well-priced and is exactly what we expected based on the on-line description.

Stores my dishes
I use this to store my christmas dishes that I use in Dec. This solves the problem of where to store these dishes the rest of the year. This is a strong box and well made
