Nice but very small, not practical usage

I saw this sugar dispenser and as a baker, plus my son is a big coffee drinker, I thought this would be the perfect sugar dispenser. I really liked the feature that it will measure out exact amounts of sugar. However, there are several cons about this product. 1. When it comes down to it, it's not very practical for the measuring feature. While it does work, it's more an inconvenience in the way you have to change out the measuring part than just picking up a set of measuring spoon, which is much faster that trying to change out the piece to measure different amounts. 2. It is much much smaller than I expected it to be. I didn't really pay attention to the size, and really wish I would have. I probably would not have purchased it if I realized how small it was compared to my last sugar dispenser. 3. The size of it makes it really hard to wash down inside and get the corners as opposed to having it round like most sugar dispensers. My scrubbers don't wash the corners well at all. 4. It is made of what seams really cheap plastic. I am certain that the first accidental drop will have it cracking or breaking, plus I worry about having to remove the silver part constantly or the turning the tiny dial to change out the measuring piece. 5. If you have large fingers or suffer from arthritis, this is definitely not the product for you. There is a dial you have to turn to pull out too release the "silver "level" on the front. Large fingers or issues with things like arthritis is certain going to impede that process for you. We will not be changing out the measuring piece and have decided to leave it setup for 1 teaspoon. In a household like mine, I am certain that the plastic pieces that you need to swap out to get different measurements will soon get lost. Another waste of space in my junk drawer. Plus it's very impractical to change them out constantly. You're really better off sticking to your measuring spoons. Overall, I am not really happy with this product, but decided to keep it. Would I recommend it? No. It's to small, made of cheap plastic and very impractical.

Regulates quantity but can be a little messy

I had bought this dispenser mainly because I wanted to minimize the sugar mess on my counter. I had been using a spoon to transfer sugar from a dish into my coffee mug. And more often than not I would spill some. When I first got this, I thought it was a 5 star item. But after a bit more usage, I have had to remove stars. Here's the positives: + It does appear to dose out the selected amount consistently. Other dispensers that dispense from the top, requiring you to tip the container to fill the dispensing nozzle seem to become unreliable as the container empties because less sugar is able to make it into the dispenser before you finish tipping. This dispenses from the bottom. It utilizes a "bottomless bucket" type of dispensing method. When the lever is pressed, the bucket slides over to a hole in the base, allowing the sugar in the "bucket" to empty. + It does lead to a lot less sugar on my counter. But it's not 100% clean. See the negatives. + It holds a decent amount. I use 2 teaspoons per 2 coffee cups per day. I have to refill every 2+ weeks. This seems reasonable. + I have not had a use yet for the sprinkle/pour feature. However, these are nice additions to have and I think can be useful. Here's the negatives: - After using it for a while, I have found that pressing the lever to dispense the sugar actually grinds the sugar a little. When the sugar becomes fine enough, it actually escapes the container from the space between the lever and the container. So while there is over all less sugar spilled on my counter, I do now have powdered sugar on my counter about once every couple of days. - After the first couple of uses, I had decided that I wanted to dispense a smaller amount. I found that changing bucket with sugar in the dispenser is very difficult and messy. After spilling a lot of sugar, I dumped it all out in order to change the bucket. All this despite trying to be very careful to not make a mess. I think this would be a much better product if the buckets could be cleanly and easily swapped out...or even better if you didn't have to swap out the buckets but just chose which one to dispense from. - Removing the top to refill is also cumbersome. The lid is kept on with two tabs (the longer black parts on opposite sides, as you can see in the product picture). The body has a ridge that fits into a notch in the lid. This is what keeps the lid on. If not careful, it seems that it would be easy to crack/break the lid when trying to remove it. Getting one tab high enough to clear the ridge before you can get the other tab up puts pressure on the second tab. That pressure also makes the second tab harder to pull up over it's ridge. Over all a decent enough product. Certainly not perfect. When it does come time to replace this, I will likely look for something better. But until then, this one does the job good enough.

Takes practice

It takes quite a bit of practice to consistently get the amount of sugar desired. Squeezing faster or slower or stopping and resuming all result in varying amounts of sugar. On the other hand, it works well enough that it has completely replaced our sugar bowl.

No mess!

My husband is notorious for getting sugar all over the counter with the spoons. This keeps it under control. Gets a little clumpy with sugar sticking to the bottom, but the sugar doesn’t get all over my counter. Great replacement for portion control for dieters too.

Happy Customer!

Got this product yesterday and was very satisfied with the design. It arrived exactly as shown in the picture and on time. The despenser allotted the sugar and coffee Whitner just as described. Most of the despenser is made of plastic except the spring behind the lever, it's quite sturdy, I was expecting a flimsy one when I took it apart to adjust the measurement to 1 tsp I was happily surprised.
