Works for my smooth-haired dog
I didn't find out until after I bought this brush that it's not intended for smooth-haired dogs; the combo one is. But I'd been using another kind of brush with wider teeth to just brush out her fur if she was scratching. I used it weekly for about a year, and she used to flop her butt down to get a good stroke. This one is a little rougher than the other one, so she ran away initially. But once I realized the right level of pressure to use, considering she was used to the lightweight one with wider teeth before (which didn't do much for a smooth-haired dog), she was right back to flopping her bottom down to enjoy. She particularly likes this brush around the top of her head, ears and neck. I guess it feels like a massage.

Not what I was looking for
I have two cats with shorter hair and I have yet to find a brush that will remove any significant amount of hair. How ever if your cat or dog has longer hair then this brush should work for you. It is made very well and the price is good. If anyone knows of a good brush for cats like mine them please let me know.

Pretty Great
I bought this a few months ago and completely forgot that i had it until now.I used it on three of my cats, one of them being my pickiest one.He doesnt usually like brushes or medicines or anything like that touching his fur but even he loves it.Would definitely buy this again if i needed to.

Soft and capable
I have five cats. They all like this brush. My long haired cat doesn’t quite get the same experience…it doesn’t go through his hair quite as well. But it doesn’t hurt any of them. They all enjoy the feel of it. Now that it’s shedding season I’m using it a lot. It’s absolutely worth the cost.

My wife loves this brush.
We have inside/outside cats and dogs. This brush seems to work well on both species, and my wife is pretty good at using it. I haven't tried it.

Indoor cats? Buy this.
Wish I'd gotten it years ago. It's like this brush has a vendetta against shedded fur. This is hands down the best brush I've ever used for my shorthair indoor cats. Go slow and gentle, especially at first because they might have hidden tangles that other brushes missed--that was the case for mine. But then it sails through after the first pass. My girls' coats have been a little shaggy looking since they're older (15 & 17), so there was no pretending that the old brush was cutting it anymore. After using this brush, their fur was so soft and lush again. The eldest one looks years younger, and you can tell that she feels better too. Worked better than I could have ever hoped.

good brush
my cat kind of hates it, but it works well to get the hair he’s shedding off.

Great inexpensive brush that works!
I have a medium-haired heavy shedder who has already broken one "self-cleaning" brush, with many of the same features as this brush, however, this one is half the cost and works great! I did find it was not quickly clean the brush but using a wide tooth comb does the trick fast as I like it!

I’ve created a monster!
I try to brush my cat at least once every two weeks or so, but we both agree it’s not for us. The older brushes I would use were also very difficult to clean, and guess who always ended up with that job? Hint: my cat is a freeloader, so the answer is me. After using this brush, I think I’ve been hired by my cat. I’m now her personal stylist. She meowed and followed me around the whole house demanding I brush her more. Guess what? No pay in return. Anyways, I have to go. She’s requesting more. I’ve created a high maintenance monster!

Calmer Kitten
Brushing my new Persian kitten hasn't been an enjoyable experience for either of us (Teddy bear to Gremlin in 2 seconds flat), until I decided to replace my current pin brush for this brush. Its a perfect size, removes a good amount of fur and leaves his fur lovely and fluffy after; and most importantly, he much prefers this brush so grooming sessions are a lot better for both of us. Result. I've actually just ordered another one for upstairs.

Angled head makes all the difference
In truth this brush is no smaller width wise than the rectangular one I already had, however the angled head makes it so much easier to brush my cats. It's a simple slicker brush with the nodules on the end of each wire but it works a treat, I can get under their chins and brush their chests without clonking them accidentally round the jaw no matter how they inconveniently squiggle about with delight. No silly extra bits of plastic to remove the hair either, just swipe you thumb across the brush in the direction of the bristles and away it comes. Easier for me and better for them. Perfect. Buy it.

Fab little brush
I'm so pleased with this purchase! My long haired cat has never liked being brushed. I've tried numerous different brushes over the years & it has always been a battle. I have been using this on her for about a week now & although she still isn't 100% happy with being brushed, she no longer runs away. The brush gently removes all of the tangles from her furr & it feels so soft afterwards. I would definitely recommend if you have a fluffy gremlin like me!

Works well
My cat is still getting used to being brushed but whereas at the beginning she'd only tolerate a couple of seconds at a time, she's now a bit more into it and on occasion even rolls over to have her belly brushed. I use this in combination with a shedding comb for her undercoat and we're beginning to see results in that her fur is less matted and sleek and shiny for longer. The prongs of the comb are very fine though and bend extremely easily and, as a result, some have to be bent back into position after every use.
