Grows with your baby

My 8-month-old granddaughter has found many ways to play with this toy. The mallets are apparently great to chew on. She also uses them to tap on anything she can find to see if she can make noise. I was concerned that she could gag herself with them, but this hasn't been a problem. The balls also serve the same purpose. And the bench makes oddly satisfying sounds. There are two downsides to this toy. 1. The xylophone is tinny and off-pitch (baby doesn't care but it bugs me) and 2. there are several parts to the toy, which means tracking them down if you want to play with all of it.

Fun for all

My daughter cracked up every time Miss Rachel used this so we bought her one for her 1st Birthday. She loves to bang on the balls and xylophone and her other toys with the mallet. Sometimes when I’m playing with the Xylophone she decides it’s her turn and takes over for me. She has yet to hit herself or the dog so that is great!

Love this produce

I bought this as a gift for a first bday. My kids loved ball hammer toys when they were young. I was hesitant because, usually, I'm not too fond of xylophone toys because they typically sound so bad. This one sounds great! As the balls fall through the holes they ding the music, which is a nice touch. The child can easily remove the xylophone and carry it around. This is one of the favorite toys for the 1 and 2-year-olds I watch!

A must have toy for any 1 year old and above

This was my kid’s favorite toy for many years. I bought it for a friend’s baby and when my kids saw the package, they got excited. They thought I was buying them another one.

Good except for paper songs

Good quality and my son likes it (as does his 5-year-old sister haha). Only complaint is that the songs that come with it are on a long paper, so that got torn right away. Thicker paper/cardboard would be much better

Amazing! My 1 year old loves this

The position of the balls over the xylophone makes it so fun for my baby to play with. She bashes the balls in and it makes a sound she loves. Then she can use the xylophone separately if she wants, it's easy for her to pull out. She can also practice putting the balls in the holes. One of the toys she keeps coming back to!

Quality finish, great sound

My son loves this toy. There's so much to do with the balls and the hammer + standalone xylophone. It's a great quality finish and the sounds are lovely and soft tones as well. A great gift for any young toddler.

Strong quality from Hape and nice anniversary-edition theme. Only negative is that the nearest two balls, by design, don't really produce a melody due to falling at the lower end of the xylophone and thereby hitting just one or two notes.

Teaches hand-eye coordination

Material is wood, very sturdy. Painting is still on after many uses. Baby of 9 months+ has learned hand-eye coordination with this toy. He's 11 months now and sometimes come back to play with it. Xylophone part is a plus. Cons: if baby is playing on a flat surface like wood floor, the balls will roll out from the box and you might have to constantly go fetch it. You may want to put something at the end of the slope to stop the balls from rolling out everytime baby hits the ball with the hammer.
