high quality, a little pricey, excellent customer service

I bought two of these in 2014 for two bathroom remodels. They look good and work well. I mixed Grohe valves and Hansgrohe fixtures because I couldn't find everything from the same brand at the price point I was looking. Most parts are plastic (the bar is metal), but it's unclear to me that the quality of plastic parts is any lower than that of metal parts from all points of view, including looks (indistinguishable) and durability. There is nothing wrong with a lighter weight for the head. The hose is also non-metallic, but it looks perfectly good and is smoother than those with the metal outer layer, so even though I was a little skeptical at first, now I think I like it better than the metal hoses. It may be a little overpriced, but not by a lot, and it has a pleasant, modern design. By the time you consider installation and other costs, the difference may become immaterial. There are much more expensive sets too. One of the shower heads started malfunctioning after a couple of years, with some water leaking out of the side of the spray area instead of coming only out of the nozzles. Hansgrohe replaced it for free, very quickly and very little effort on my part, and that's also worth money.

Hard to change inclination of shower head

Looks great and modern however we struggled a lot with the shower handle slider. We couldn’t figure out to incline it. In the end it turns out you have to turn quite hard, it feels as if you were about to break it. It works fine but we were agarics to turn too hard and it took us two days before we figured it out! So don’t be afraid to use some strength at first if you want to change the inclination of the shower head!!!

Looks good but will it last?

This shower set definite has the look factor... but because most of the parts are made of plastic (that looks like chrome), I'm afraid that it will not last. The height of the showerhead can be adjusted easily by turning a lever on the left side... and because the bar is quite long, the height can be adjusted to a great degree. I do have some issues with the little lever... 1. You really need to push it to lock the location, 2. It's made of plastic so sooner or later it's probably going to break. The angle of the showerhead also can be adjusted... When I first installed it, I didn't think that it can be adjusted until I tried multiple times... You CAN adjust it but it's not easy... The main reason is because adjust it takes a lot of effort turning the holder... it will turn but will click loudly. The tubing is made of plastic... we'll probably switch it out to the metal one soon. Overall, it's a good buy but just know there are some shortcomings.

Hardware good…but

Hardware for mounting is excellent for the price. Shower head is good but the snake is cheap and rigid…we just swapped out our old snake…for the price, well worth it

Mostly plastic ...

I think I fell for the name brand and the good reviews. Went to many other sites checking product description and was convinced will be getting metal parts. I think from the whole set only the slider pipe and the locking knob are made of metal. My biggest disappointment - shower handle is completely made of plastic. Not sure on the performance as I just received it, but certainly was expecting more for the price I paid. I have had other hand held showers made of plastic that lasted and performed well, but they were not pretending for "exceptional durability" and the price tag was less than $30. Needless to say I am disappointed. Considering returning the set, but I am afraid I am not going to get any better from other brands. If I am highly impressed by the performance (to be known in a month when the set will be installed) I might bump my rating one star, but if I had seen this set in a store I probably wouldn't have paid the price...

Great customer service, great product

We installed one of these in our master bath during a whole house remodel. It looks great, just what we wanted in a contemporary house. When we first moved back the shower was perfect, a strong spray even with water saving restrictions, but after a few weeks of using it the handset began to leak water around the face, over about a month the leak became bigger and the spray coming out of the handset diminished. This morning I called Hansgrohe USA customer service and explained the problem. They immediately said they would send me a new handset with no other questions or conditions. We bought Hansgrohe fixtures for the kitchen and all three baths, all of it looks great and has a feel of quality. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

Not quite a five star

This shower head will make you scratch your head wondering why a high end faucet that is really a quality piece and demanding high dollar to purchase would try to cut a few dollars by including a cheap looking vinyl hose instead of a like quality metal braided hose. Just doesn't make sense. The metal hose would have made this a five star!

Will leak sooner than later

I purchased the Hansgrohe 04266000 Unica S Wallbar Set in August 2015. It worked great until the past month when water began to drip from the bottom of the shower head. The shower head silicone emitter has been cleaned but this has not improved the situation and within the past week, the leaking from the shower head has only gotten worse, greatly reducing the water pressure and just being wasteful. A request has been made to the company concerning the Lifetime warranty and asking for a replacement shower head....we'll see what happens.
