Another Product Not Just for Carpal Tunnel...

A somewhat unusual neurological syndrome has resulted in my becoming something of an expert on braces and other aids for impaired hands. In my case, some minor improvement has lessened the amount of wrist-drop being experienced, but function of the digits is still minimal. Further, there seems to be an issue with the hand becoming cold easily. When it does so, my discomfort increases significantly. Thus, I sought a glove that would provide additional warmth. Thermoskin Arthritis Gloves seemed to be an option, but I really didn't need a pair - just the left hand glove. As I was reading the reviews, I saw that one reviewer recommended the Thermoskin Carpal Tunnel Glove for both warmth and support. That was what I had been searching for! I have worn the glove several times when my hand became cold, and it has raised the temperature enough to minimize my discomfort. I am pleased with my purchase, so far. I ordered a small since my wrist is 5 1/2" in circumference. The measurement around my knuckles, as shown at the Arthritis Glove page, called for an extra-small. I am glad I chose the larger size as the extra-small would probably have been too constricting and I may not have been able to get it on my hand since my fingers are currently uncooperative. This glove fits my smaller hand which measures approximately 6 3/4" from the wrist to the tip of my midde finger. The finger tops end just at the base of my nails; since I got these for primarily for warmth, I do not plan on cutting them any shorter. However, that would be easy to do without damaging the gloves. The velcro wrap provides enough support at the wrist for most occasions. I will be having my spouse cut the metal insert so that it is 1 1/2" shorter; this is so the support ends at the crease of my palm rather than extending to my fingers' base. I believe the glove is flexible enough so it would allow me to wear it while keyboarding - if my fingers worked. I will update when I am able to do so. Although my skin is irritated by "plastic" band-aids and latex, I have experienced no problem while or after wearing the Thermoskin Carpal Tunnel Glove. I have not noticed any offensive or unusual odor being caused by the materials of which the glove is constructed. If you need both warmth and support, you may want to consider the Thermoskin Carpal Tunnel Glove as one of your options. It isn't just for carpal tunnel any more!

Uncomfortable

I wanted something for index finger carpal tunnel issue and the write up sounded like this glove would work. It was uncomfortable and was of no use for my issue. When I purchased it I did not realize that this item is NOT RETURNABLE. So Beware.

Buy the pair

I made the mistake of buying each hand separately. That was my mistake for not doing enough research on Amazon. That being said, Amazon and Thermoskin did not do enough to inform me that you can buy a pair cheaper then buying them in visually. I did not know I could buy a pair at a time. The gloves have fairly good reviews so I was confident that I was buying something worth it. Not so much. The threads started to unravel the first day. The straps or the material underneath move and I have to retigten about every hour of wearing them. That means the Velcro won’t last long. I probably will not buy them again.

Arrived on time and in good condition

I got size large, which should fit someone who wears 7 3/4 to 8.5 size gloves. I'm a surgeon, I wear size 8. These do fit. I thought they might be too small, looking at them, but they stretch, similar to a wet suit. They fit snug and are very comfortable. But, if you want a looser fit (think like a regular glove rather than fitting snugly), you may want to up-size one size.

Great compression, splint sewn in slightly crooked

The Thermoskin Carpal Tunnel Glove feels great as my hand is not as painful. The compression is wonderful, not too tight and not too loose. I rate this a four star because the splint is sewn slightly crooked as it does not sit directly in the middle of your palm, but slightly to the right so you are constantly moving the splint towards the middle of your hand. Because of this, I wear the glove without the splint.

Threads came out and glove fell apart today,3 days after return window

Poor quality for price fell apart at 34 day mark. Would not recommend

Best of both worlds.

I have tried many braces, only this one helps with my hand pain and my carpal tunnel pain. I highly recommend if you have carpal tunnel or arthritis symptoms in your hand.

Like it very much but has some pribkems.

The glove fits well and does what it's supposed to do. I find it comfortable to wear day and night. I take the metal bar out at night though. No real reason to but I prefer it that way. My only problem is it needs regular washing as the inner is none porous and my hand sweats after wearing for a while. It is sadly a smelly type of sweating. Has to be hand washed in cold water as well and not dried in a dryer so takes a while to dry.
