Great for standup
3/18/23 Just used these for striking &’they’re great. The padding is bit stiff when new so getting hit in the head before breaking these in with a few hours of pad work is not recommended but they still feel great as long as you have some control & go light. They fit true to size (my palms around the knuckles are about 8.5” diameter & I got the Large). I was able to wrap my hands & still get them on. I had to use less wrap on the knuckles (2x around as opposed to 5/6x around) & more around the wrists (going slightly higher up the forearm) but it was no problem. I’m not much of a grappler but the other guys who are (we all got the same gloves) seemed to have no real problems/complaints when things went to the ground. I will update this after some time & the gloves break in.

Are you going to wear wraps?
I purchased two pairs of these gloves. The red set is sized regular and the white set is sized large. I based the size of my first purchase on a set of Combat Sports MMA gloves (similar to the ones used in the UFC). The old set being a size regular I never wore wraps. The point is when I purchased my original pair my hands and wrist did not hurt. Today, 10 years later, it is a different story. The pain is more in my wrist that hands but I still need the support of wearing wraps. I did not think of this until after I ordered a regular sized pair of the Red Max Strike from Combat Sports. If you look at the pictures the main curved padding rides high on my knuckles cause a rub which is uncomfortable. And you will also be able to tell that with the wraps, I am not able to fit in them very comfortably. Now, without warps, they are fine. However, I gave them to my 8 year old son and the fit him marvelously. Better is the large sized white set.As you can tell from the pictures it is a more comfortable all around fit. SO, if you are going to wear wraps get the next size up. (For disclosure: I based the durability rating of the gloves off of my experience with my original glove purchase ten years ago. The are still in great shape after ten years of use. I expect the Max Strike to have the same long term durability.)

Great!
Review based on an XL as well as a L for this glove. AESTHETICS - Both gloves are beautifully constructed, no loose stitches or scuffs/marks. It's not full leather because it looks like the black segmented part of the back of the glove is made out of synthetic leather. The leather on the padding and on the finger loops feel nice and soft. I feel that they will be durable but it's only been a week so bare with me on that. Also the color scheme and layout are gorgeous. Nothing looks tacky or poorly printed designed. An absolute pleasure to flash around at the gym. Drawing the "ooo's" and "awe's" of the gym mates especially feel nice haha. FIT - The XL's fit my hand comfortably mind you my hands aren't huge. I got the XL because I wanted to wear handwraps with them. The only ones I can wear with them though are probably 120's... comfortably anyways. The L's felt a little too tight around the fingers. They weren't uncomfortable but I did notice the tightness. Dimensions of my hands to help with sizing: -8.5" circumference around the knuckles [Palm up] -3.5" width of knuckles [Palm up] -3" circumference of index finger -3" & 2/8th's the length of the middle finger FUNCTIONALITY - Both do their job very well, which is safely simulate an MMA ruled match. The pre-curved foam make it relatively easy to strike and to clinch with but is a bit cumbersome while grappling especially when going for subs. But I've adapted it to my game and instead hug rather than grab the limb I'm attacking. Chokes and getting underhooks are a bit troublesome as well. I will admit though that the padding for the XL's compared to the L's is different(it could be that I got different batches). The XL's felt soft but firm at the same time, think Gel padding. While the L's were soft as well but more of a springy bouncier padding. Still would rather get hit by these than a TapOut glove lol. OVERALL: Would definitely buy these gloves in bulk if there's a good price for them. Very happy with my purchase :D PROS: -Does as described -soft but firm padding -as functional as it is aesthetically pleasing CONS: -Size chart needs to move down a peg[XL's should be L's, L's should be Reg, etc.] -Inconsistent padding [probably got 2 different batches. still love em though!]

THUMP!!
For the price I got these gloves at, I can't really say too many bad things about it. The only bad thing I could think of, is how hard the front padding was until we loosened it up from sparring. That's normal for alot of combat training gloves though. I bought these gloves to have for MMA sparring. I had a friendly spar with my GF, who currently is training in boxing for fitness. She loved how the gloves felt on her hands. And of course she loved how the gloves felt when they were going into my face and upside my head. As far as impact goes, I can only describe how they felt hitting me. With headguard on, I could feel the impact, but it wasn't enough that I couldn't absorb. When she hit me harder with the headgear on, I felt it more of course, but I don't remember ever seeing too many hit flashes. I just felt a hard impact. Without headgear, I never felt that sharp fist pain. It just felt like I was hit with a loaded laundry bag. Even with becoming a "ground and pound" victim, I never felt in danger of serious injury. I am sure a skilled and experienced MMA fighter could do damage with these gloves, but that wasnt the case. I would still recommend these gloves for sparring and training. You could probably get some MMA handwraps to ensure a tighter fit. Although I didn't have an issue. Most importantly, these gloves stay on pretty well on your hand. Didn't have any wrist pain or hand pain. Depending on how long and hard you spar with these gloves, you might wanna use MMA hand wraps just to ensure a good fit as I mentioned before. Grappling wasn't an issue either. We were both able to do alot of proper grappling even with the bulkness of the glove. Had no issue with it.

Great padding
Great quality and XL fits fine for most men. It’s a bit tight on the wrist, which means you don’t need to wrap your wrists. However, my right boxing glove was less than perfect. There was yellow stain on the front that cannot be wiped off.

Perfect for light to medium sparring
Amazingly well built. Great support for wrist. Good padding, but don't go sparring more then 50% of your capacity (speed and strength) for jaw and nos blows for you may put your training partner KO.

would recommend to anybody who wants to keep being able to ...
Quality sparing gloves, biggest padding on the market, would recommend to anybody who wants to keep being able to read while getting older. Don't buy it to hit the bag, padding is to dense and it does not feel good on strikes.

Great fit
I orignally bought a pair of revgear for they were cheaper and all leather. I felt on the revgear they used same finger cuffs for both gloves , making the right index finger tightly squeezed. These however have abit of big pinky but doesnt cut off my circulation . i can also wear hand wraps with these ones. Padding is what is needed for hard sparring and assuring the safety of your teammates. I give it a 5 based on that its the best i have tried on so far that is out there
