Edit: Reduced to 3 stars after significant use. I'm 5'9" and I measure at just over 16 inches around the knee, so I got the XL size. These slide down all the time, I can't finish a set without them slipping down and bunching up during a rep, maybe a large would have been a bit better. I have very hairy legs, so that probably doesn't help, plus my legs are fairly large above the knee. Comparing visually to bigger brands, it looks like these might be a bit shorter, so that might be a problem as well. Also, the build quality isn't very good, especially the stitching. I put a finger through the stitching accidentally while pulling up one of the sleeves, and I wasn't putting very much pressure on it, and it was only around maybe the 5th time I put these on. I've never used knee sleeves before, so I don't really have anything to compare these to. But I do know knee sleeves should be very tight to the point where they are nearly impossible to get on, and they should be difficult to walk in. If you want an example, just find any strongman videos on Youtube showing them putting on knee sleeves. I got the XL sleeves which after using a few times feel really good, but I think might be a little on the too large side. My measurement around the knee is just under 17", which would put me in the large or X-large, so the large probably would have been a perfect fit while the XL is better if you want a more comfortable fit. The material is very soft and feels like a solid construction, so they should last. There's just enough stretch to be able to pull them around tight parts of the legs. These feel great for lifting though, even with the slightly loose fit. Without sleeves, my knees click and I feel a little bit of pain occasionally when doing squats, but with these sleeves my knees feel solid with no pain. I don't feel any spring-back when pushing back up, but I suspect that's due to the sleeves being loose. The main thing to understand with these knee sleeves are they are exactly what the title says, they are for weightlifting. These are NOT compression sleeves, though they do serve that purpose as well during weightlifting. They're not really intended for anything other than squats, deadlifts, leg press, and any other weighted movement requiring bending at the knee. These aren't the kind of sleeves you put on for long periods of time, you would put these on just for the lift and then take them off. If you're looking for something for your knees during running or biking or just general stability wear, these are not what you're looking for. You're looking for a compression sleeve or a knee brace, which it seems most of the negative reviews were expecting.
