Nice glasses

These are a sturdy glass without being too heavy. I did inadvertently have a small child end up with one and he didn't break it, so points for that. I use these as milk, juice, and water glasses mostly, I don't drink soda, so I have no idea if a full can will fit, but I think it would. I do like the pattern on them, and the clear glass. It's something different from the solid plain glass you usually find, and I find myself drawn to more patterns lately, while still trying to keep things as neutral as possible for year round use. Come warmer weather these will be great for a nice glass of iced tea, or homemade lemonade. Easy to wash though, they just pop right into the dishwasher, and I like that they're slender enough to not get involved with the rack holders (tines?), but with just enough width to not topple over either. They don't stack well, but I don't stack my glass, so this is fine with me, and for the same reason I like them in the dishwasher, they don't take up a ton of space in the cupboards like some seem to. These are great glasses, and without small kids in the house anymore, I'm really liking my return to the non-plastic variety of dishes.

Vintage Look in a Modern Tumbler

My husband really likes these tumblers, and I'm so-so about them, but that shows the difference in our design tastes and nothing to do with the glasses themselves. These are well-made, heavyweight glasses that pair well with traditional table settings. In the summer, I have Tuscan-style outdoor plates, napkins, and tablecloth, and these glasses look great with those. The raised paisley design keeps the glasses from slipping out of my hand, even if condensation appears. The tumblers are dishwasher-safe and seem thick enough to resist breakage in case of minor impact. These look like antique glasses but of course are not. Because of the shape and pattern, I find these glasses best for drinks such as water and ice tea, not for highball cocktails. Fitz and Floyd should have just called them "tall tumblers" or "drinking glasses" instead of "highballs," since the last connotes drinks such as mint juleps and gin-and-tonics. These don't meld well with those drinks. I consider them water glasses that can be used everyday or in a semi-formal setting. -- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Not Really for Highballs

I ordered these for my wife and she loves them! They are clear with beautiful etching and designs on the glasses. She uses them for ice tea and water and they work well. The etching allows you to grip the glasses when they sweat, so the chances of them slipping out of your hands are minimal. We got clear because it goes with most everything. A good price point too. Dishwasher safe and made by Fitz and Floyd, a perfect combination.

Gorgeous Fitz&Floyd Tumblers

This company elevates the daily drinking glass (in this case a highball tumbler) to high art through craftsmanship and elegant colors and patterns. These are clear glass 'highball' tumblers which could certainly be repurposed as water or juice glasses for those of us who are only occasional drinkers. It would be a shame to leave these locked up in the liquor cabinet. The glasses feel great in the hand, and while not particularly thick or heavy bottomed, have real presence--almost like cut crystal. I don't know enough about glass to say why some glasses feel cheap, others feel delicate and some just comfortable and great in use. These are the latter. I have four and will certainly wind up with a full set of 12 when I am finished.

Terrific Tumblers!

The set of 4 Fitz and Floyd Maddi highball clear glass tumbers have heavy thick glass quality & a unique decorative raised pattern. I like that these even though are clear glass look different from typical kitchen drinking glasses. They give an elegant fancier feel to whatever you may be drinking. Arrived packaged nicely in protective set up. Nice quality set of glasses.

Nice Heavy Glasses

I love these glasses. They are nicely weighted and hold ice longer than the average glass. Fantastic vintage look. The beading around the bottom was a pleasant surprise. These match my smaller Fitz and Floyd Everyday White Beaded glasses. The smaller ones have beading around the top and bottom. The beading on these highballs makes them look like a set.
