net is made of soft material

I purchased this cast net approximately 3 weeks ago. My review is based on the three times I used it to catch live bait near a fishing pier in North Carolina. The net arrived in good condition packaged in a plastic box which was nice. I took the net out and inspected it prior to use and found it to be made of soft material unlike others I have seen from other companies. At first, I was not sure how long it would last, since I was new to cast netting. I went to my local fishing spot and found the net, opens consistently with only a short time of practice. I took the net with me on two other fishing trips and on the third trip, I noticed a small hole had begun to form in the middle section about two feet from the horn. I was disappointed in this since the cost of the net was a higher than other companies I had seen in the store and on Amazon with the same or better reviews. I am unable to give a better review at this time since i am no longer using the net. I will contact the company and see if I can get a replacement. Overall, a good net but in my use very fragile and not tough enough for a beginner.

Good for noise and corrosion

Bought this as an upgrade to my 6' FITEC 1500. Noticed right out of the box that the quality is somewhat lower than with the 1500... however, that was expected with the lower cost version. The weights are plastic coated. Good for noise and corrosion, but I had to take an emery board to them to take off the burrs from the mold as they tended to snag on the mesh when I threw it. The mesh is fairly lightweight... good for a fast sink rate and should be fine for baitfish but if you snag on branches or catch a carp or other large fish, there may be some tearing. overall this net seems to be a good value for the money but i've yet to see how durable it is over the long run.
