The price has more than doubled
This is a great product. When I originally bought the tank that goes with it, these refills were around $20, and now they are $52. It's still a savings over buying bottled water, so I will continue to buy them as needed. I'm just disappointed that it went up so much, and I don't have the option of buying another brand unless I get a different system. I can get 8-9 months out of one. I don't use nearly as much water as it is capable of filtering, but after 8-9 months it starts leaking out bits of charcoal or something. The bottom of the tank doesn't seem as clean. So the six month replacement recommendation is reasonable, but it can be pushed a little to save a little more money.

Frustrated by the Pre-Stage Filter
This is the third filter that I've purchased for my Greenway water filtration system, and I would have given it 5 stars except that I had extreme difficulty getting the first stage "pre-filter" to snap into place. As compared to the unit prior to this (Greenway Long life Multi Stage Filter) which I purchased this past April, this pre-stage filter seems slightly larger in diameter. In fact, when I go back into my order history and click the link to the Greenway Long life Multi Stage Filter, it automatically redirects me to this "Vitapur GWF3" filter. So I think something more than just a name change has occurred with these filters. Once I got it put together, it seemed to filter the water through at a decent rate.

We use the tap water fill adapter type with the filter so no heavy lifting and expense of delivered water jugs. Two things to follow: Submerge new / replaced fine filter for 30 minutes outside of system before putting back in unit. Do not overfill upper water tank when lower tank reaches high level mark.

City water residents need this filter system especially if you have a water cooler!
These filters save so much money over large bottled water company deliveries its amazing. We also purchased the big Greenway water cooler attachment this filter goes with and have used it for probably 5 years. It does require occasional cleaning, and the filters don't last forever. But the savings compared to water delivery are great. The water quality for taste is wonderful. This is not a high end hydro filter system but for what its advertised to be, a taste and sediment filter, it works well. SO, if your on city water and want the chlorine taste remove, this will do the job. The activated carbon filter does remove the bad chlorine taste, and the dual layer filter removes particles from the water. If your using well water and have heavy deposits of sediment and iron...this will not do the job as well as a professionally installed water softener and treatment system. But if your on city water, this is the one to buy!

One of the best investments we have ever made in our health and the environment
We bought a Greenway hot and cold water dispenser and the filter bottle system that sits atop it several years ago. We have absolutely loved it ever since. We now never use the refrigerator water dispenser because the filter is so much better on this system and even those many years ago Greenway was on top of the BPA controversy and had manufactured their system out of BPA free plastic. This system has saved us a bundle of cash over the years from other water dispenser systems because we don't have to buy the water and then we don't have the big jugs to recycle or return to the store. It saves the environment because the impact from transporting water is eliminated because we just fill it from the tap and have excellent quality water whenever we want in whatever quantities we want. If our dispenser broke down I would have to find a way to keep using the filter bottle because it is just too convenient.

Often recommended to friends
Used about 5 of these filters. Great product as I drink a ton of water and love it iced cold. The container they load into is great and the water tastes great. Note that this filter doesn’t filter out fluoride but improves the taste and quality of water. Will reply with PPM comparison to toronto water. Haven’t had the issues listed here with the water not flowing through. Mine filters steadily but not fast. Remember that your water wouldn’t be filtered too well if it poured right on through. There’s a ton of resistance in this filter and it’s doing it’s job. Just ordered another today, will report if there’s any new issues like the ones noted here but overall my past experiences have been great.
