Love the idea

I love the idea of this. We always pack these in our camping bag just in case. However, we’ve yet to use them but it’s such a good thing to have just in case cause you never know camping or hiking what can happen so I would rather be prepared And I would rather have it and not need it. Then need it and not have it so absolutely super excited that I can put this in mine and my husbands camping bag.

Great to have on hand in case of emergency

Got these to keep on hand in case of an emergency so I have not actually used them yet but I know lifestraw is a reputable brand. They are easy to use and I especially like that you can attach a water bottle to it so multiple people could get the benefit of clean water and even filtering water for cooking if needed. There’s so much going on in the world it’s nice to have the peace of mind that for a small investment I can guarantee my family will have fresh water.

Great Product, low price & good reason

I ordered 1 for my back pack and then I ordered a 2nd for back up. they truly work! You can unscrew the bottom for a good fit on any water bottle or use it like a staw. The water taste like fresh mineral water from an artesian well! I'm an avid camper/survivalist have been most my life And these are well worth the price, and taste of the water. don't pass it by at this price! And when you buy one you automatically, with no extra cost, you help a child for a year with fresh water. It doesn't get any better than that! I totally recommend for many reasons.

Customer service stands by their products

Haven't had a chance to use my replacement straws but lifestraw customer service took care of my issues and made it right. Seemingly good quality build and quality. I would recommend buying direct and not through Amazon, original order showed up open/ used.

for an emergency

I have many of these stockpiled. This is to drink right out of a river/lake/stream. I haven't used them yet but I'm certain they will make the water potable when the time comes.

What can I say

The product works and gets rid of most germs are used it to drink out of the river one time or use it to drink out of the lake. Did not get sick in an emergency situation. I definitely would use this product. I keep a few on hand just in case anything happens not 100% but what is.

My go-to water purification filter for BOB’s, get home bags, and survival

I have purchased well over 20 Lifestraws over the past decade or so for my BOB’s, get home bags, and outdoor survival. Lifestraws have been proven in harsh conditions, and have never failed me in my uses. However, there are a few things to consider: 1. This filter will not remove certain toxins like heavy metal, etc. Further, they will rarely remove taste and smell. So, if you drink straight from a source with toxins like Mercury or lead, you are not protected. You may still survive, but the long term effects could be troubling. In a true survival situation, where death is imminent if I don’t get water, I’ll take my chances with potential future issues from metals. Just my opinion. Further, if you drink from a musty pool, expect it to taste like it smells. Overall, try to be a selective as possible with where you choose to draw water from. Moving water is almost always safer than stagnant water. 2. Tip learned from my military survival training- Always carry a coffee filter and rubber band with your Lifestraw. When attached to the end, it will filter heavy sediment, slime, etc., thus prolonging the life of your straw. It may be a bit harder to suck the water through, but who wants to have slime in their straw and, potentially, make way through to the mouth? 3. In addition to carrying a coffee filter and rubber band, also consider carrying water purifying tablets, coffee filter/rubber band, and the Lifestraw in a gallon size zipper Ziploc bag. When you need water: A. remove everything from the bag B. Attach the coffee filter if necessary C. Use the Ziploc bag as a container to hold the untreated water D. Drop in a tab or two of water purification tabs and wait the recommended time. I use these because they balance the ph as well and remove a lot of the taste and smell https://amzn.to/3vXJGp5 E. Drink the water through your straw Obviously, you can drink directly from the source without doing everything I mentioned, but just a couple extra light supplies and a few more minutes doing all I listed will greatly improve the safety, quality, and taste of the water you drink. Just because you are in a primitive or survival situation doesn’t mean you need to suffer.

Very effective straw, does the job perfectly.

I bought this straw before travelling to Colombia fearing a change of water might affect my stomach. I was sceptical of its efficiency in the begining. I used it with tap water and water from unreliable sources. It perfectly purifies the water. There's no odour or bad taste to the water. My stomach has never been upset infact this has been the smoothest transition in all my travels. Highly recommended.

Handy water filter.

This is a good product and comes handy while in woods and run-out of filter water. We can drink water from the water-source we get on the way while trekking. Light weight and easy to carry. Cleaning after use is also simple.

Good product especially for Trekkers

This is a good product, used it on a long trek in Uttarkhand, where Clean water was often difficult to come across. This filter helped quite a bit, though I would prefer the one which comes with the bottle attached, if it wasn't so expensive. Overall this is a reliable product and very helpful for Trekkers.
