Exceptional customer service
The unit is very solid - like appliances used to be made. The waffles are thin which we really like. I bake GF and use these waffles as my bread. They make great sandwiches. After having the unit a couple of years it began to stick in a section of the waffle. We contacted the company and after asking us a few questions they promptly sent us another unit. We were treated so respectfully - the customer service was exceptional. I was delighted because I really like the waffle maker. It transformed my need for making GF "bread". It is hard to find non stick surfaces that are PFOA and PTFE free and this one is. We are very pleased.

Absolutely love this appliance!
Very easy to use, we've enjoyed nordic waffles at restaurants for a few years and I wanted to see if we could recreate a version at home, success! I did use another recipe as the one in the booklet contained alot of sugar, I used the almost max heat setting to get a crispy brown surface. About a full half-cup batter per waffle works well. Spread with fruity cream cheese, add berries and cream, fold and eat. Wonderful!

Now, this is it!
I love waffles - and so does my daughter. Every waffle recipe book she's ever looked at had heart-shaped waffles and that's what she really, really wanted (she's four...). I already own a fancy waffle maker - one of those contraptions that can make two waffles at the same time and that can be "flipped" - but it is square and not heart-shaped and the waffles are really thick. Thus, I set out to find the perfect waffle maker - one that produces heart-shaped waffles, one that bakes the waffles at an even shade of golden brown, and one that produces waffles that are nowhere near as thick as the square belgian waffles my other waffle maker makes. I found finding such a waffle maker online rather impossible - you can't really see the contraption and thus, you don't really know how big the waffles will be nor, more importantly, how thick or thin they will be. Descriptions of this waffle maker seemed to include a lot of "the waffles are neither too thick nor too thin" - which is nice, but doesn't really tell me if the waffles will meet my expectations. I was unable to find a heart-shaped waffle maker in the store and thus, decided to simply buy this one on a whim. Well, so here I am with my new waffle maker and really like it. There's not much in terms of set-up - plug in, select shade of golden brown you want, put batter in, wait until the "ready" light comes on, and eat. This is as simple as it gets - and it should be. It's also how just about every single waffle maker I have ever owned has functioned - thus, please forgive me for not going into the specifics of which light comes on when, etc. If you've ever seen a waffle maker, you'll know how this thing works. Now, the waffles are not the biggest - but they are big enough. The waffles also do not come out with a consistent golden brown hue - instead, there is a much lighter spot in the center - I found this somewhat irrelevant but still worth mentioning while also providing a reason for the subtraction of one star. How thick are the waffles? Neither too thick nor too thin. There's really no better way to describe them and I finally grasp the other reviewers. The waffles are just right - the way you want them. I am happy and my daughter is happy - and I think you will be, too. All you need now is a good recipe book and a gym membership. Yum.

Perfect Norwegian Waffles
Growing up, the mom of one of my best friends used to make us Norwegian heart-shaped waffles for breakfast. I remembered them many years later and found this waffle maker to make them. The shape and size of the waffles turned out perfectly and just how I remember! They’re thin and crispy. This machine will come in great use.

The box came damaged though the outside box had no damage. Wish there were more options for PFOA and PFTE free waffle makers. It’s small but cute. Returning.

Makes Fantastic Keto Waffles!!
I have a Belgium Waffle Maker that I've used for many years. I love waffles and pancakes, especially in the cold of the winter months. Name a better comfort breakfast than waffles, bacon, and an easy-over egg. You can't. Stop trying to think of a clever answer. Here's the problem; I got old, and I got fat. So I started doing keto a while ago. Pleased with the weight loss, but miss some of the dishes I used to enjoy. Oddly enough, one of the big challenges of keto alternative recipes, is the texture and mouth feel of the food. (I have yet to find a really good keto bread recipe). I tried many keto waffle recipes in my trusty old Belgium Waffle Maker, and they were eatable, but the texture was always disappointing. On a whim, I decided I needed to try making a thinner waffle, and ordered this unit. What a difference! Give this recipe a try using this iron, if you want some real (keto) waffle satisfaction: 4 large eggs 4 oz cream cheese 6 tablespoons almond flour 2 tablespoon coconut oil or melted butter 1 teaspoon baking powder 2 tablespoons Erythritol 8 drops maple flavoring 1. Add all ingredients to a blender (I use a little Ninja cup blender) and blend until smooth. 2. Use the Euro Cuisine WM520 Heart Shaped Thin Waffle Maker. Set heat control to position 2 (two dots). Plate temp should be about 305f to 310f. 3. No grease on the plates is required. Pour the batter into a pre-heated waffle maker. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes. Makes about 5 waffles. I top them with some melted butter, and low carb maple syrup! This is a great little waffle maker for the money!

Uneven heat after a few uses
The first few uses it worked fine. A bit slow, but waffles cooked well. Today it seems that part of the heating element is no longer working, and 2 of the 5 sections are not cooking. We are having to flip the waffle part way through to fully cook the batter. Really disappointed, this was not a cheap appliance. For it to have stopped working after only a few months of irregular use points to a manufacturing defect. Do not recommend.

The product is safe and makes nice waffles. The only downside is that the top part heats up very quickly and you have to be careful not to touch it and burn yourself.
