Great Meter But....

I like this meter a lot. It's accurate on all scales compared to my Beckman and my Klein meters. The only thing negative on it is that the test leads are not well enough insulated. I was measuring about 250V DC and got a shock right through the lead I was holding by the insulated part at the probe end. Surprise! I changed the leads out with another set I had and all is well. I love the meter especially that it reads frequency up to 60 MHz and has Auto Power Off override. It just has the one drawback.

A good product for the money

Readings not as accurate as my Fluke meter but had many features I needed. As the old saying goes "Close enough for government work." I would buy this meter again when one is needed.

GREAT Multimeter, but may be overkill for average user

I'm going to keep this brief - this is a terrific multimeter with a plethora of options and features. But those very same positive attributes may be why it isn't ideal for everyone. To put it simply, I don't think most users are going to ever need all the features this offers, and having them adds complexity. A little elaboration: You have multiple options for where you plug in the test leads, various types of leads, extra accessories for other types of testing and measurement, the list goes on. For those users who are always tinkering with electronics or working on some project, this multimeter is likely a great fit - tons of options and at a great price. But if you typically find yourself simply testing a circuit, checking voltage or continuity, checking resistance, or other such tasks, this is simply too much. And you need to keep all of the accessories somewhere, since there is no case or bag or anything to keep them in. I plan to keep this in a drawer in my tool cabinet with all of the accessories and the manual, so I can find them when/if I need to use them. But I would never keep this in my tool box that I take with me for various tasks (camping in our travel trailer, going to work on an electrical project, or anything like that.) My other issue with this unit is the size. The large display is terrific, but the overall size of the unit is quite big for most purposes unless it is going to sit on a lab table or something like that most of the time. They did include a strap with magnets to use to attach to surfaces, which is handy in certain applications. The flip out stand on the back is hard to pull out - no notch or catch to use to grab an edge. So after all of this, why am I giving it 4 stars? Well, it is pretty much exactly what they say it is, and does all the things it is advertised it can do. So if you understand this, and understand the complexity of having this full-featured multimeter, then you won't be surprised and should be very happy with it. It delivers on its promises very well and thus deserves a good review. Just make sure it fits your needs, if that makes sense. (Note that the one star deduction was due to what seems to be a less than stellar build quality, where you can see in the picture the yellow casing was loose the day I opened it up. I don't think this will be a real problem though, as a little bit of duct tape would solve this problem without detracting from the use of the product in any way). ***Note that I received this product at no charge in exchange for my unbiased review. Standard multimeter, works well

It works, which is the best part. Tested it out while I was replacing the outlets in one of the bedrooms, and it worked great. I like that it came with a battery, and I like that it has a removable battery (because it's not like I'm using this thing every day -- in another year I'm going to fish it out of my tool bag for some project and the battery might be dead, but I want to be able to quickly toss in a new one and get to work). I like that it automatically turns itself off, because if you're like me you're in the middle of a project and you set something down and then you don't come back to it for another couple hours, when you're done and cleaning up. I like how big the face is. I picked one up for an engineering class way back in college that had a fairly small display, and I just got used to it. Now, a couple decades later, I don't want to have to squint to read the numbers. This one has a nice, big display that's clear and easy to read, even at an angle. My one complaint is that, overall it feels sturdy and generally well-made, but it also feels kind of cheap, like they just snapped on a cheap housing. Then again, as long as you're not dropping it, it should be fine. It's just maybe not quite as rugged as I would have hoped.

Good Multimeter

This Digital Multimeter (DMM) is up to most any task and doesn’t break the bank. Pros: -All functions work fine on all the tests I did. -Has auto-range. Also has manual range, so you can set it to 3 digits behind the decimal for example. -Digits are very large and can be read without glasses. -Has a back light for the display that can be turned on/off easily. -Came with a 9v battery (already installed and working when shipped). -Has auto power off to save battery (15 minutes). -Has a “hanging magnet”, I tried on a metal door and it actually held the meter fine. However, since this also picks up any scrap metal lying on your bench, it can be easily removed with the hanger’s Velcro strap. -Has fuses under the back battery cover. These fuses are for large amperage testing protection. Cons: -Fit and finish so-so, but that’s not a deal breaker. Some of the cords fit into the unit at a slight angle, but the electrical connection is fine. -The yellow plastic protective shell fits a little loose on the unit, but shouldn’t come off with light use.
