By far the best media I have ever had

With other “chunky” media it fits less in your canister. Now this one it fits a lot like every inch in your basket filled. Creates a big amount of surface area for bacteria to grow. Ps. Using on a Fluval 407 the 2L media fills two baskets to the brim and a perfect fit.

Good size, the sintered glass works well IMO

This media seems to trap and absorb well. Also, can be reasonably cleaned and reused. Takes a few days soaking, rinsing, drying, but easy for a retiree. Store the recycled batch for use as a layer below the new same media. Pitch recycled as you desire. Good Luck Richly Rewarded

Good stuff. One 2L box fills one tray in my SunSun 303B external canister filter. My kids (which means me) inherited a 20 gal tank with 5 goldfish in it and as anyone who is in the know, knows, that is WAY bad overload. Ammonia, Nitrites and Nitrates were all above super critical levels as you can imagine. Got a cheap Sunsun canister and put some of this in it. Did some water changes to reduce all levels immediately but now that I have a couple trays full of this stuff my ammonia and nitrates are ZERO! Always. I still have to do waters changes twice a week to keep the Nitrates in check but that's not a big deal. Side note: Appears the Sunsun's might just be a rebranded JBJ rector, made by the same company. If so then these Sunsun canisters are probably better than the price suggests. They might be a sleeper....anyways...thats a review for a different page.

Excellent Biological Media

I had never used media like this for an aquarium. When starting a new betta tank I decided, after research, to try this as the media in the filter. It has worked great. Initial cycling of the tank when smoother than I have ever experienced and the parameters have been stable ever since with routine maintenance. I plan to swap out a HOB filter's pad for this media in the future it worked so well.

Very happy that I found these.

After watching a few aquarium filter setup videos on YouTube by this British guy, I looked for the biological filter media he was selling but found these. I was a little skeptical at first but haven’t had a second thought since I’ve installed them. I am using a Aquatop DF200 with half a box of these on last(top) stage of the canister. I placed the foam and mechanical filtration on the bottom as he suggested, plastic bio balls on the middle and these at the top. I put my old bio ceramic tubes on the very bottom to provide a little slowing of the water as it comes into the filer housing. I’ve not had a cleaner aquarium since then.

Helps With Filtration In Marineland Plastic Refillable Cartridge

Helps more, if put inside a Marineland Plastic Refillable Cartridge. I use different biological media and mechanical filtration. My white cloudy ponds cleared within 3 days after adding this stuff with: 1.) Seachem Carbon 2.) Marineland Zeolite 3.) 100 Micron Polishing Filter Pad.

By far my favorite bio media

I have 2 Eheim Pro 4+ filters (1-350 & 1-600) which brings this media. I purchased a Fluval FX6 and I replaced the crappy bio rings and filled the baskets with this media. Absolutely love this media. Have had great results. Sorry Fluval for inserting Eheim media in your filter but this is by far my favorite media.

Un buen material biológico para el filtro. Yo creo que esto ya lo conoce todo el mundo y no hay mucho más que contar. Es el Substrat Pro de toda la vida, se lleva usando muchos años y dando siempre buenos resultados. Ahora parece que las nuevas generaciones están más pendientes de meter muchos canutillos que de meter los necesarios y de calidad y esto lo están dejando de lado. Pero bueno y sigo confiando en Eheim y su Substrat Pro
