Read this review! Whats in the box...

So far so good. The unit is well packaged and looks to be a good quality. It was easy to set up and run and is quiet enough compared to the(double in price) Honda. There is multiple confusions about what it comes with. I even called DuroMax and they got it wrong. I was told it has a remote control... it does not. I was told it does not come with the parallel cords or the 30amp adapter and it does. It also comes with a tool kit and the propane regulator. Now, to put it to the test. But so far, Im optimistic.

A few issues

We like this but it did come with a leaky valve. The company sent a replacement promptly. It is not as quiet as we hoped. The outer cover also is hard to remove to the point we thought we’d break it.

Terrible support, okay generator

Good luck getting support from the company. They took 14 DAYS to reply to my calls and emails, and their reply was to simply ask (again) to describe my issue! UPDATE Aug 2022: After only ~10hrs of use, the generator has developed an issue and is stuck at low RPMs when using propane. Support actually got back to me later that day, and I was told to try something and call back that same number to update them. But the number immediately says "No one is available". They sent me a blank email with an HTML attachment that cannot be opened, and the email address doesn't accept replies. It's amazing how poor the support system is. I may have to return this generator after all. ORIGINAL REVIEW: You can't use the generator until you add oil. To add oil, you must remove the side panel. Sounds like it should be easy, but I can tell you that it was the most difficult and physically painful task I've had to endure in a long time. NOT what you want in an emergency! For one, the wording on the generator says to remove the bolt and "take the panel"... Okay, small proofreading error on DuroPower's part. Not too bad, but neither the manual or writing on the unit actually guides the user with removing the panel. The manual simply says: "1. Add oil The oil fill cap is located on the lower engine block to the right of the recoil start housing. Remove the oil fill cap and fill with 10w30 oil." To the right of the recoil start housing? It's on the opposite end. Does anyone proofread? I called and emailed and didn't get a response so I just yanked on the handle with all my might and the panel just bent but did not come loose. I mean I REALLY yanked on this thing. I'm an adult male that frequents the gym. I was pulling so hard that I had to put my feet on the generator to keep it from falling on me. I really messed up my hands. It took me over 30 PAINFUL mins to get the panel open!! I'm glad I didn't pry it open, because it turns out there are tabs on the side that hold it in place, so you can't just jam something in there without risking damage. I finally added the oil, which turned out to be way more than the manual said to. It seems to run well. The best part of this unit is the display. Easy to read and has lots of info. Then 14 days after calling and emailing, I get an email that simply says "Please reply to this email with a short description of the problem and photos or a short video of the issue if possible."... That's it?!? Total waste of time. If only DuroMax tested their own products and manuals... If I encounter any further issues, I'll be lowering this 3 star rating.

Great purchase

The fact that it runs on propane is biggest plus and it's light weight, low noise makes it perfect for camping.

Amazingly portable

Customer service is the best in my opinion. The generator works great and Duromax stands behind their products. Worth the extra just for the service.

Great lightweight, quiet, dual fuel Inverter Generator.

Wow, what a dual fuel powerhouse of an inverter generator for my 5th Wheel RV. So quiet in ECO mode I was amazed. Easily supported my Residential Refrigerator and Dish Satellite Receiver while running on Propane. Started easily, ran quietly and supported the load equipment during a prolonged power outage. What more could you ask of a generator?? BTW, the instructions to take off the side cover to add oil aren’t very good. After you loosen the hold down knob you really need to pull hard to get the side panel to let go. You’ll think it’s going to break, but it won’t. Just get a good grip on the knob and pull like heck. The little catch pins inside will release and the cover will pull off.

Great generator

Today we setup the generator after one week of receiving, but does not generate the house using a male to male extenxion. Do I need to use the 30amp plug to energize the house? Overall, Excellent generator.
