Read the Directions

DeWalt explains the use of this item in detail. It has to be followed precisely. I haven't had any trouble unless I skipped a few steps. The product works fine and I've got good use of it.

Stuck in Open Position after First Use!

Sent DeWalt an email. They replaced the product immediately. However, I will not be removing accessories from the chuck as the directions suggest. I will remove them by hand. I am surprised by the problem that I had, as it is clearly a design defect. This is especially surprising considering that this a DeWalt product that was made in Japan by Seiko. Both companies enjoy a reputation of quality. The irony is that I bought this for my Makita driver and didn't buy the Makita chuck, after reading multiple reports of the chuck loosening, chronically, after 6 months of use. So, I would recommend the product, WITH THE CAVEAT, that attachments must be removed manually, unless DeWalt or Seiko redesigns it.

Solid feeling and cheapest option I could find

So far I have used this on a Milwaukee impact to hold taps to tap threads into steel and it holds solidly and does not seem to have any issues

Works as advertised - read the manual for how to remove a bit...

Other reviewers mentioned how difficult it is to remove a bit. I can concur it is hard if you don't use the procedure spelled out in the manual. 'Place tool/driver in reverse... Grasp chuck sleeve firmly and run tool at full speed.". Worked like a champ.

Great Dewalt drill chuck

Really like this Dewalt impact attachment, it’s very simple to use and just makes my job easier, no more bringing in the second drill for a drill bit if you don’t have the impact ones.

Not cheap but pay for quality

Its a expensive chuck but its better than any of the others i brought of Ebay the cheap ones from china. Where i find these chucks fail is normally the screw tends to come loose from the centre of the shaft inside the chuck. This one has no screw which is good so you dont get that problem. I have only used it once drilling into a metal fuseboard but i would recommend it and it is well built.

All metal parts no plastic to break

I looked up the chuck on different sites on youtube very good reports on it so i went to dif local merchant s to buy it couldnt be brought .so i looked on Amazon and purchased it first class product and quick delivery .

Worse purchase ever

I believe in get what you pay for but in this case its not probably worse purchase I've ever made the chuck will only tighten so much and any bits I've put in have just come loose do not buy I guarantee you will regret it
