Great for 90 days
It has a great valve, nice construction with velvet type fabric on one side. With enough pressure from body, under your ribs, it will last about three months before a slow leak begins and needs to be inflated everyday. both pillows did this.

The perfect camping & hiking pillow with a suggestion for an ideal pillow case!
This well made and affordable product is rather unique and rare in that there are so few self inflating camp pillows available to purchase period. Most "camping/hiking pillows" are usually some postage stamp sized, paper thin polyester fiber stuffed pillows that are usually worthless and useless! This relatively inexpensive gem of a camp pillow is an exception. It is durable, inflates well, and is adjustable to provide either firm or soft support. For hiking purposes, the pillow can be deflated and rolled into a compact bundle. It can then be stuffed into its small included storage bag. It is made and operates like a regular self inflating camp sleep pad such as those made by Thermarest, etc. The difference is that the Stansport Self-Inflating Camp Pillow is obviously smaller and can be inflated up to 7 inches thick (with a few breath puffs). I would recommend the use of a pillow case with this camp pillow for enhanced comfort and sanitary hygienic purposes. In terms of an ideal pillow case for this camp pillow, I would recommend the Coghlan's Pack Pillow ( which is really a kind of pillow case) which is sold here by Amazon :Coghlan's Pack Pillow . The Coghlan's Pack Pillow (case) is ideally sized to allow the Stansport Self-Inflating Camp Pillow to be enclosed with a perfect fit. In fact, it fits so perfectly, it almost seems as though it was made for the camp pillow. After your camping trip is finished, simply strip the Coghlan's Pack Pillow (case) off the Stansport Self-Inflating Camp Pillow and throw it in the washing machine for a good wash in order to be prepared for use for your next camping trip. Again, the Coghlan's Pack Pillow (case) keeps the Stansport Self-Inflating Camp Pillow nice and clean and increases the general comfort of the camp pillow. They make a great combo together!

Very nice camp pillows
We are 'car backpackers' We camp out of the back of a small SUV, so weight is not a huge issue for us, but I look for items that are small and packable. The wife likes to take her full size pillow on camping trips, but a house pillow takes too much space in the car. I have tried the small packable pillows, but they just flatten out in use. This one fills the bill. You can inflate it as you like for thickness and softness. It has fabric on one side so it is not "plasticy". It does make a minor rustling sound but this was not a problem for us. The pillow is smaller than a house pillow, but is large enough for comfort. The price seemed high, but there is much more to the construction and covering than expected. It is not just a plastic airbag. They roll compactly and have nice retainer straps to make them easier to get it back into their nylon storage bags. Much nicer than sleeping on my rolled up jacket!

Well Worth the Weight.
After trying several backpacking pillows, I finally found one that works. The other brands are fine pillows; however, they were either too thin or too soft for my needs. The Stansport pillow is not only tall enough for my wide shoulders (I'm a side-sleeper), it stays firm all night. This is a great pillow. Not only is it self-inflating and padded, it can be inflated to taste: rock-hard for good reading support, or as soft as you prefer. The valve is a standard twist type and only two to four breaths inflate the pillow to desired firmness. The brushed coating on one side is soft and easy to clean, while the other side has ridges that keep the pillow from sliding off your bag or sleeping pad. It is a bit bigger and bulkier than other pillows I've tried, but the comfort is well worth the weight and making space for it. If you need a good, solid pillow to fit your outdoor needs, this is it. Try it, you'll be glad you did.

Works great (when stored & used properly), but a little noisy.
We had be using cheap travel pillows for camping and I recently came to realize that they just didn't provide enough support. So, after researching self-inflating pillows, these seemed like the best value. Like any self-inflating item, it's important to give it enough time to fully inflate. Also, between uses, make sure to store it in its inflated form. I don't roll them up until the day I'm leaving to go camping and then immediately open them up right after getting the tent set up. Used this way, I've not had the issue that others have reported where it doesn't fully self-inflate. The only thing I'm not thrilled with is they're a bit noisy (crinkly) if - like me - you move around a lot. Maybe over time, they'll soften up and the noise will lessen.

Small but well-made, solid, functions perfectly, and could really be a life saver!
Good product. It is a little smaller than expected, but exactly as stated. It seems to be solid construction and made of good materials. It functions exactly as intended and could really be a life saver on a camping or survival situation. I am adding this to my bug-out-bag as a little comfort item in my bed roll. It should work perfectly and be a very important item in my bag. The material surface is fine for sleeping on in a pinch, but I chose to buy the Coglins stuff-pack pillow case/cover (mentioned in another review) and it was indeed a perfect fit. This is a great little item at a great price. I am very happy with my purchase.

Wonderful pillow
I have had 2 of these Stansport Self-inflating Camp Pillows for a year, and they are holding up really well to the rigors of camping. Currently, the product dimensions at the top of the product page on Amazon are grossly incorrect (I notified Amazon), but this pillow has a nice size. It's smaller than a normal bed pillow, but very comfortable, and the addition/subtraction of air allows you to make it just the right firmness you need. The Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow is a couple inches wider than this 20" wide pillow, but costs 3X as much usually, so get 2 of these instead! Rugged material, well-made, with both a cooler side for warm weather, and a more plush side for cold weather. Unfortunately, even the Stansport website is listing this pillow as 72" wide, which is ridiculus and clearly intended for their self-inflating mat. Excellent product.

Great Pillow
Just got it, tried it out for a 45 Min nap. It's perfect. Only small set back, that isn't a problem for me, is it's not the most compact, but the comfort level makes up for it.
