Pros, Cons and Care Tips
Although the Cuisipro Foam Pump is not perfect, it is significantly superior to other foaming soap dispensers that I have tried. I own several Cuisipro pumps, and I occasionally purchase an additional one for the house or for a gift. PROS: Good foam lather. The foam lather rinses easily off your hands (and off eye glasses), whereas non-foaming soap takes a bit of rinsing to get all of the soap off. Economical. The dilution is 1½ ounces of soap to 8 ounces of water. (Don't worry, you do not have to measure. There are fill lines on the back of the dispenser). If you prefer a lighter lather, or even greater economy, you can use an even higher dilution. The angled spout aims the soap slightly downward, so that if the tip were to clog (as other brands of dispensers do), it would not shoot straight out and cover you with soap. The spout extends far enough beyond the bottle so that it is over the sink, and so that it will not drip soap onto the outside of the dispenser. The spring is pretty dependable with proper cleaning (see CARE TIPS section, below). If the spring does become sluggish, the large plunger handle makes it easy and convenient to pull the plunger up to its full height. The suction cup keeps the dispenser in place. The inverted well that holds the suction cup, creates a "soap moat" inside of the soap container. This provides two benefits: (1) it provides additional accuracy when filling the liquid soap to the correct level, and (2) it allows the pump, whose suction tube is exactly long enough to touch the bottom of the "moat", to pump the soap completely to the last drop. Good ergonomics and styling. The sloped unit with wide plunger handle does not look like something that you bought at a supermarket. Very attractive with a drop of food coloring in the soap, or with already colored soap (such as Soft Soap's "Black Raspberry & Vanilla"). I would have preferred glass rather than plastic, but I accept the fact that plastic is a lot safer. This unit has a 25-year manufacturer's warrantee, and a 90-day Amazon.com warrantee. Keep your receipt and the warrantee info. Amazon.com provides a free UPS return label. According to another reviewer, the manufacturer replaced his unit without his having to mail the defective one back. CONS Any liquid soap dispenser (not just this one) will develop a sluggish spring return if soap gums up around the moving parts. This is a minimal problem with this dispenser if correctly cleaned (See CARE TIPS, below). If you do allow it to become sluggish, the pump handle will still spring up high enough to use, and the wide pump handle makes it easy to lift it all the way up. One of my pumps died and I had to return it (See warrantee information under "PROS", above). The pump mechanism appears to be held in place by a friction ring washer. If you disturb it while cleaning, it can come off, and the pump will never work again. See CARE TIPS, below, for how to clean the dispenser without disturbing the pump unit. Liquid soaps that are PRE-DILUTED and sold TO BE USED AS IS in foaming dispensers, may still need to be further diluted significantly, because of components that might gum the moving parts with residues. My favorite liquid soap that is pre-mixed for foaming dispensers is Young Living Thieves. This soap contains essential oils, and, through experimentation, I find that I need to further dilute it 1 part soap to 3 parts water. Clear or translucent Soft Soap refills, on the other hand, work perfectly when diluted per the Cuisipro instructions. I suspect that trying to use one of their creamy soaps would be deleterious. CARE TIPS Rinse and flush the pump with clear water between each filling. (Do not try to clean the lid or pump mechanism with a cloth. Doing so could dislodge the pump from the lid). Simply fill the dispenser ¼ full with clear water. Shake it. Then replace the lid. You can continue to use the dispenser as long as lather comes out. When the lather becomes thin. Then repeat the process a couple of times, rinsing the dispenser, filling ¼ full with clear water, replacing the lid and shaking, and flushing the pump by pumping clear water through it. This will flush out any soap residue that might be starting to accumulate. (You can also use a bottle brush on the bottle if you like - just not on the pump or lid). Then empty the dispenser and fill it with liquid soap and water, per the Cuisipro instructions.

Beautiful, but has some serious flaws
Edit and upgrade to 4 stars: I’ve had this now for quite a long time. As I said in my previous review I did have issues with the pump sticking in the down position and the markings for the amount of soap and water are long gone, however, once I started using more water and less soap than recommended, the pump started working again and has worked ever since (maybe my particular soap was too concentrated?). Also, it’s very important NOT to over fill the container. I only fill to just over 1/2 and definitely keep everything well below the pump mechanism. That seems to be the key. I still have to re-mark the fill lines periodically with a paint pen, but otherwise this has lasted a long time. I recommend the company imprint the fill lines into the plastic bottle rather than just paint them on and this would be a 5 star product! Original review: What I love: it’s a beautifully shaped clear and silver container that looks perfect on my counter and I love being able to make my own foaming dish soap! The suction cup on the bottom keeps it in place so I can operate with one hand (with the one problem noted below). I mostly wash my dishes, cleaning as I cook, so being able to dispense foam to one plate or pan at a time is perfect! What I don’t like: The marks indicating the proper fill lines for the soap and water disappear quickly, leaving you to guess how much to add. Too much soap and it won’t dispense properly. Too much water and it destroys the “pump”. My other complaint: while everything worked perfectly for approximately a month, suddenly the pump head will no longer pop up after depressing it to dispense soap. Now I must manually push the pump head back up into position before I can use it again. Very frustrating. While I love the way it looks and I loved the way it worked for the first month, I feel it is much too expensive for something that lasts such a short time. My suggestion is if you decide to try it, immediately grab a pretty color paint pen and mark the fill lines in paint BEFORE they disappear, and be prepared to fight with the pump top in the near future. Too bad. I REALLY wanted to love it!

Nice design
One suggestion - put the marking for the soap at the top; I.e. water in the bottom, soap on top. Makes it easier to fill without foaming during the fill process.

Soap Dispenser
Simple and effective soap dispenser. You dilute normal hand soap 4:1 with water and this pump squirts it out as foam. Easier to use in my opinion, and saves money as a bonus. I have found that they do not leave those messy drippings like the liquid soap dispensers. Works with several brands of soap we have tried in the large refills. Suction cup on bottom helps keep it in place. We have in three bathrooms and the kitchen. have had them for about 3 months. If it was a little larger, you would not have to fill as often.

Great little dispenser which has saved me quite a lot ...
Great little dispenser which has saved me quite a lot of money..being a typical heavy handed bloke that used too much washing up detergent, it was noticeable within a few weeks that I hadn't had to buy so much detergent. Plus it mixes the detergent into a lathery foam which works well. So for all you suds lovers give it a go and save money and the planet.

Silver effect coating peels.
After a couple of weeks use the silver effect coating around the neck of the pump has started to peel. The pump itself is very efficient and the shape very pleasing. The suction base tends to stain the sink black where it has adhered to the sink. The black stain is easily removed with bathroom cleaner, however. A little disappointing as I have purchased at least 4 of the Cuisipro pumps which are all wonderful.

GREAT - ONCE You Know the SECRET in REFILLING the Dispenser
I have used this product for about 2 yrs. It is very good at creating foam from a relatively small amount of liquid soap, and the container & pump are good looking, though cheap. Three negatives of this product are: 1) you must be VERY CAREFUL to not exceed the fill lines for soap & water, otherwise you get a messy mixture of watery soap; 2) the pump head leaks a small amount of foam, which ends up on the container and drips down to the base of the unit, then causing the suction cup to be very ineffectiveon in keeping the unit in place; and 3) used as directed, the sink around the dispenser and the suction cup needs to be cleaned VERY FREQUENTLY of soapy water, and the suction cup reattached. HOWEVER I learned the simple SECRET to SUCCESSFULLY using this dispenser - IT WORKS!!!! Simply fill as directed with soap & water and replace top - THEN SHAKE UNTIL SOAL & WATER FORM AN EMULSION!! This will prevent the messy problems one otherwise encounters with this dispenser. I have been using THIS FILL METHOD for several months and have ZERO PROBLEMS of the type described above that I previously encountered. Cuisipro was STUPID not have discovered this fill method themselves and included this instruction on their label, as it would/does make this dispenser effective.

Works great
I've never had an issue filling or dispensing with this pump. Just fill with soap to the line, then water to the line, and gently swirl until it combines. Produces a nice, thick foam, and the suction cup works well. I like the triangle shape a lot more than the bulky bulb shaped ones, this one fits nicely on my countertop.
