Very handy, easy to use, apple corer
This apple corer is very easy to use and much easier to control than the old "pound it in" corers that have been unchanged for decades. It is very easy to get each core out of this corer due to its opening jaw.

Easy to use.
Easy to clean. Clean, clear cut around the core. We used this for a dessert that laced biscuit dough around the apple slice so a clean cut was necessary.

Well designed and built, and easy to use
I finally broke down and got an apple corer because I got back into dehydrating, and wanted to be able to make nice, uniform thickness apple slices for chips. I always just cut the shells (the seed cavity) out with a paring knife after quartering the apples because I was worried about having pips (seeds) left behind, which, as it turns out, shouldn't have been a concern. The two I've found which escaped popped right out when I sliced my apples with a mandolin. I chose this one because it's from a brand I know and trust; and it looked as if it would be easy to hold and use (it is). The build is sturdy, the blade is sharp enough to cut without difficulty, and the core comes out of the corer easily. I wish I'd gotten this decades ago. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

Very sturdy and sharp, but causes almost instant oxidation
Everything described about the sturdiness and ease of cleaning for this corer is absolutely spot-on - it does a very quick job of coring out an apple with only minimal efforts. However, what I discovered immediately upon first use is that either the metal used to construct it or the design of the teeth results in almost immediate oxidation of the fruit after use. The browning on the cored internal edge starts to appear within only a couple minutes after use. This is far more quick for that result than when I cut up an apple with my regular knives. So, if you're going to core and eat right away, it won't be a problem. But if you're coring out apples for use more than a couple of minutes out, you're gonna have to treat them with lemon juice, etc. to maintain a nice appearance.

Surprisingly better than a standard apple corer!
I make apple pies and crumbles all the time, and the hardest part of the job is peeling and coring the apples. That's why when I saw this Cusipro corer reviewed on America's Test Kitchen, I decided to take a chance and buy it. It is definitely the best apple corer I've used. Not only does it have a larger diameter to remove more of the core, the core can be disposed of quickly and easily without putting your fingers at risk. The only downside is that, like any other apple corer, it's possible to miss the core altogether if it doesn't line up between the top blossom and the bottom of the core. After all, apples are mechanical and sometimes the core is at an angle. Nonetheless, for a very modest price, this is a definite upgrade to whatever you're using now to core an apple. I've thrown out the others that I owned and have adopted the Cusipro as my go-to tool for baking apples!

Apple Perfection
How is it that I lived & cooked apple dishes for FIFTY-FIVE YEARS without this great corer? It's heavy and strong, has sharp little teeth, a superior handle AND the barrel self-opens so that you aren't stuck rummaging around to find a ball point pen to push core material out of it. Bravi*, Cuisipro; the rest of my winter will feature every apple dish I can think of. (* plural for 'bravo')

Sturdy with a good grip
This thing is easy to use and easy to clean. It's sturdy and has a good grip. I use it to core pineapple slices and apples. I like the split lever which makes it easy to retrieve the core and dispose it in the trash can.

Honestly love this corer
Honestly love this corer. I'm a weakling and the handle just makes the process of coring effortless. The core comes out no bother after you are done. The only drawbacks are: the apple gets brown immediately (I'm assuming it's the same case for other corers though so not marking it down) and the handle sometimes bleeds colour in the dishwasher and stains my plastic chopping boards. The stains come off in the subsequent wash though. Update 2017. I've had this tool for 2 years now and it's still one of the best pieces of fancy kitchen equipment I've ever had. As I mentioned earlier the colour used to bleed in the dishwasher, it stopped now, but the handle is still bright and red. Despite being used at least once a fortnight, the corer is still just as sharp as it was before and I love it

A really excellent corer, takes out a bigger core than the standard corer (good for bigger apples, as many cookers are), the saw teeth help get through bigger, harder apples, and the side opening helps clear the core out. Very comfortable to hold and use. Seems expensive but is well worth it.
